They need to scrap the team behind the upcoming Aqauman movie. It sounds like it will be a complete trainwreck.

To give you a better idea, here are some Rottentomatoes percentages.

Director James Wan

Saw - 48%
Death Sentence - 20%
Dead Silence - 21%
Insidious - 66%
The Conjuring - 86%
Furious 7 - 81%

Screenwriter - David Leslie Johnson

Red Riding Hood - 10%
Orphan - 55%
Wrath of the Titans - 25%

Screenwriter Kurt Johnstad

300 - 60%
Act of Valor - 24%
300: Rise of an Empire - 42%

Does this sound like a team that should be involved with Aquaman's first really big movie?
God fucking damnit... Can Geoff Johns not just completely rewrite their script himself?

LOL

Brutal.. wow

WHAT. No way. ASM 2 was one of the worst comic book movies ever. Spiderman 3 is just disappointing, maybe slightly bad.

I think Spider-man 3 came off even worse because Spider-Man 2 was one of the best post-superhero renaissance films prior to Spider-man 3. Batman Begins and maybe X2 were the only other films that you could argue as better.

Amazing Spider-man was already a so so film by 2012 superhero standards and Amazing Spider-man 2 still completely failed to live up to it.

EDIT: Also, Spider-man 3 was clearly a "Fuck it, I will just do whatever I want within the boundaries forced on my by the suits" film by Raimi, while Amazing Spider-man 2 tried and failed to do whatever the hell it was doing.

Damn straight.

James Wan is one of my favorite filmmakers alive and the thought of him helming ANY superhero movie, even one with the lamest hero alive, is EXCITING. I'm so excited, I hope Wan steals the reigns of the DCCU and directs the Justice League movies.

I'd kill to see the words "FROM THE VISIONARY BEHIND SAW COMES JUSTICE LEAGUE" What a beautiful world.

Back down to 41%, at 16 fresh and 22 rotten...

Damn, we could be looking at its ceiling, incredible. Possible will even go down to 30s or less as more mainstream critics see it.

Spielberg produced the Transformers films. He doesn't care; he gets a nice paycheck for almost no involvement! I call that the good life.
Well, executive produced, which in that case yeah, just means he was a major investor, nothing more. That's more or less the definition of the title. In film it's extremely rare for someone who is solely executive producing to be involved creatively. It's not a creative role.

Nolan also only executive producer here, but I'm not even sure he's directly invested. The title is likely more of a holdover from his relationship with Warner and his producing Man of Steel.

"Better than Man of Steel" comments are hilarious, so it's better than shit? That improvement!

I'm surprised people are surprised this movie apparently sucks. I'm baffled how Snyder continues to get high profile works.

Wow. Snyder excelled in a way. To be fair though while I find him a bafflingly mediocre director you can't lay it all on him. Script sounds weak, the film is trying to do to much in one film, cast performances sound uneven and so on.

But man this film might train wreck DC's hopes it seems. It'll open strong on hype but I'm fully expecting it to crater quickly afterwards.

If they play it right DC might be able to "pull a Spectre" and hustle it do decent numbers. But they'd be insane to continue on track with Snyder past this.

No, its bad.

Most of the positive reviews basically amount to "Its better than MoS and will make fans happy, buts overlong and joyless."

Better than MoS, making fans happy... is negative? Also the term joyless is so subjective, people will find a certain type of joy here. Joy doesn't have to equate to sunshine and rainbows. I get joy out of The Exorcist because it's great and I find joy in that.

AHAAHAAAAAA

ZACK SNYDER I FUCKING LOVE YOU

Ohhhhh God. This movie's gonna make quite a few millions, but I won't be helpin'

I never really care about what critics say in regards to movies. That is one medium which is very subjective.

However I also don't go to the cinemas any more so it really won't help the box office.

If a movie is 50% on RT, it generally means it sucks. RT scores are 'inflated' in a similar way videogame scores were.

ehhh kind of...I mean 50% RT means, say for easy math, 100 gave it fresh, 100 gave it rotten. Now the fresh reviews may be a score of around 7 out of 10 where the rottens are around 3 out of 10 so leaning more negative, but 50% RT is still half and half, etc.
