I feel like the only way people would be happy with this movies tone is if it starred Adam West as Batman.

Complaining about the darker theme of this movie is silly when we've known what we would be getting for a loooong time now. Especially as the source material it references is also dark as hell.

It seems to me that everyone is rushing to get that perfect dig in on Snyder.

This narrative keeps getting brought up and it's always flawed.

The Dark Knight was very dark and had some serious themes and it was critically acclaimed.

Daredevil Season 1/Jessica Jones were violent and mature and still praised.

The whole "People don't like it because it's not jokey and bright coloured like Marvel" thing just doesn't fly when you have these other properties completely defying that.

still hyped for this plus its a good thing i dont critique movies and just sit back and enjoy the ride which is why i can honestly say i have never not enjoyed a movie i paid to see.

What are the chances of Snyder getting replaced in Justice League?

About 0 unless there's a massive drop in audiences for the second week, as if a random theater that's still showing The Force Awakens in the middle of nowhere makes more money than BvS

It's not that they wouldn't consider it if they had more time until the JL movie, but they start filming next month

O man this is just cruel. I watched one of the early screenings and I wasn't exactly impressed but I didn't think it was this bad. Then again I only watched it cuz it was free otherwise I probably would have passed.

Haven't read through reviews but they probably aren't that far off. Snyder basically ignored everything we liked about the characters and threw them out the window for a complete grim dark tone.

Me right now, as someone who hated Man of Steel and therefore was not the least bit excited for this movie.

My legitimate sympathies to the DC bros but I gotta be honest, this is fun to watch. I already had my turn when ASM2 came out.

Oh but don't forget, if you don't like Snyder's interpretation of the characters, you're no true scotsman. According to him.

It's a shame I didn't buy an IMAX ticket because I'll miss (minor spoiler)
Lex Luthor shaving his head
in glorious 1.43:1.

There is a 1st for everything.

Just kidding, really hope people who paid will enjoy the movie.

Putting together a compset for BvS. Here is a list of its peers, comic book movies that were similar in critic reception. You know, plus or minus 10%.

Daredevil: 44%
Fantastic Four: 27%
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer: 37%
Blade: Trinity: 25%
X-Men Origins: Wolverine: 38%
Green Lantern: 26%
Batman Forever: 41%
Superman III: 26%

And comic book movies that are way out of BvS's league:

Man of Steel: 56%
The Amazing Spider-Man 2: 53%
X-Men: The Last Stand 58%

I thought comparing review scores was a banned meme.

oh god this thread is hilarious, good riddance though, MoS was awful and since this one follows the same style it deserves all the ridicule in the world

remember when WB said audiences werent ready for the themes this film dealt with

they're probably right, this is too smart for us
