Batman v Superman Ultimate Cut |OT| - Men are still good (out now)

We all know the third act in JL will be the big battle against the enemy/goons. Hopefully Snyder delivers something as MoS. The Smallville fight and fight against Zod were unlike anything I had seen. He cracked the DBZ code with that one. Build on that I'd say and DON't hold back because you're scared off critical backlash. These are superpowered beings, I expect them to wreck shit in a fight.

I want the league to fight some parademons in the first and second arc and battle Steppenwolf in the third act. Also, I hope there will be many combos.

If Snyder wants to go nuts with the "collateral damage" in JL I hope he at least show the heroes care about the civilians this time and have them save as many as they can where they can.

That's all the Zod fight needed. A 12 second sequence of Superman staring at a building, dashing through it, and coming out holding a pedastrian on the other side. Just so that I'm not assuming every building they felled had people in it.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

"Downtown is empty because it is after business hours" doesn't do it for you?

It was my biggest issue with the Zod fight, not the massive damage that happened because that was probably the point Snyder was making when two of this caliber fought but that the one trying to save the humans did very little saving in that fight and was just as crazy destroying things as Zod.

Superman will save the day with the GOAT theme from Zimmer playing in the background.

So can someone explain this to me about the Flash?

If he was going back in time to warn Batman, what grounds was he standing on? Wasn't he warning him about Superman? Yet couldn't he see Superman sacrifice himself to kill Doomsday if he can go into the future? I feel like I missed something huge there.

Superman will return. There's a 100% chance for that.

Flash is talking about another event that takes place farther in the future. He went back too far in time.

Why is this in spoiler tags lol.

Superman will come back and louis lane will somehow die causing him to turn evil. Or at least side with darkseid against Batman. That's the future flash comes from. So now that Batman knows superman can go evil and that Louis is the key, he will tread carefully, save Louis and find the rest of crew to help him do that. This will ensure that the future won't be as dark and bleak as we saw in the knightmare sequence.

Just wanted to be safe with the tags, and I see. So they're forming the team to basically protect Lois?

But you don't understand. Like, at all.

MoS was Clark's first day as Superman. He shouldn't be expected to be saving people yet.

Well flash says she is the key. And that Bruce was always right about him(superman... Being afraid of superman) and to find the rest of the metahumans. And of course lex tells him something worse is coming.

Bruce is just preparing for war.

I totally expect for them to abandon the Knightmare plot for Justice League 2, or whenever they planned on doing it. There's no way Snyder, et al. hear the criticisms about BvS (something that Snyder has admitted prompted him to readjust things on JL already) and then make a movie where Lois dies, Superman turns evil, and the world plunges into authoritarian hell under him.

This so much. Darnsied is coming to destroy the planet. I wanna see flash and Arthur fighting kalebek.

Diana and cyborg fighting the furies and batman and superman fighting darksied . Bring in the damn hellbat suit out and lets see some action.

Millions will die in this fight. We could see some saves and other stuff but I wanna see some earth 2 type carnage

I do understand. You'd more more likely see Superman get pummeled trying to save people, than deciding he can't do both and focusing on Zod, first day or not.

" I have discovered his weakness. He cares ... he actually cares for these Earth people".

One of the reasons I love MoS so much. For the first time, a superman movie finally managed to frame just how powerful (a relatively wet-behind-the-ears) Superman was. Those sequences were breathtaking, having grown up watching Supes put Darkseid and others through buildings and cratering them through the earth.

They'll probably shrug it off with a little sequence involving an oracle sighting or some time fuckery by Darkseid.

Sorry to break it to you but no darkseid in justice league. Snyder confirmed it in the latest press tour on the set of the movie. Stepphenwolf , the creature in the deleted Scene with lex, is the main villain.

Darkseid is likely justice league 2

Or take a page from Superman 01 New52 and have him x-ray a building and show the audience he's taking him into a building (which he doesn't do, Zod takes him into buildings), that is empty.

I hope we at least get to see Darkseid turn sideways towards the camera and give the audience a shit-eating grin.

Does he have a chair he can sit on for 10 movies too?

They were never going to go that route. That's why they had flash come back in time. The entire reason for that is to prevent it from happening.

If you haven't read the earth 2 comic darksied does this.

He kills all your favorite heroes then blows the damn planet up.

Age of Ultron actually did that. Was a bit too overt "we aren't killing anyone" for me.

Darkseid should certainly not be a one and done. Dude needs to wreck shit. Kill at least one JL member (and have him/her stay dead) and millions of people. Hell, take Superman prisoner or something like that. With the rest of the JL trying to free him to stand a chance.

It could be worthwhile to have a second Knightmare sequence in Justice League, which shows the Justice League reacting to Batman's death, and Flash deciding to send a message back to Batman through time. You could probably also have it so that the Justice League is just getting wiped out by Darkseid as the Flash is trying to find a way to communicate through time.

It'd build Darkseid as a threat while leaving the fight against him for a sequel, and it could be a cool action sequence to start the film on.

This version or its a bust

Plus the furies would be amazing. Everyone gets a one on one and we don't have to have an ending mook battle

Maybe I'm just a jaded old man now but why is collateral damage in a comic book movie such a big deal all of a sudden (since Man of Steel). I personally don't care at all about the supposed off-screen deaths of citizens when a bunch of powerful beings fight. All I want to see is large scale destruction and mayhem. Not once am I thinking, "man, I hope that building was evacuated in time."

And it'd be stupid if the audience was subjected to Superman stopping a fight to fly up and xray the entire area before resuming. And it's also stupid for anyone to actually say, "it's been evacuated 100%" or "the area is abandoned." Takes me right out of the flow of the movie.

I agree with you, but when the crux of the fight is wanting to protect humanity, letting the fight spill into and topple buildings just doesn't feel right.

You don't need to do anything too jarring, but a short scene like with the Oil Rig at the beginning of the film, where Superman tries and fails to hold up a building or something, would have done that sequence a lot of good in term of showing Superman as well-intentioned but overpowered by Zod.

i'm still confused why they nuked superman and doomsday in space tho

y didn't they just let superman throw him into the sun

They didn't know how it would play out and after Metropolis they probably did not want to take any chances. Deal with the threat asap. Remember in MoS; it wasn't like Supes was able to stop the Kryptonians immediatly. It took a lot.

I really wish the Doomsday fight was in Metropolis proper, if just for one great idea. While he couldn't fight directly, Batman could have started to protect civilians. Helping people get away in the middle of all the news coverage would have turned his character completely upside down.

Yeah collateral has always been insane during big fights. Then they spend like 1 page doing a quick save then go back to the fight

Watch the UC. The TC doesn't exist for all intents and purposes, It's an abomination.

Ok this is a damn good shot.

IHu77_QV.jpg

Looks pretty cool static and probably other shots too but in motion it's pretty awful to watch and too cluttered. Scenes are very busy and hard to focus on what is the main event. Even non action scenes suffered from this. What was with extreme close ups, the camera felt really close in this film a lot of times. I usually respect Snyder for painting a pretty picture although cold and lacking any substance for a film, however Dawn of Justice is dire most of the time which I found very odd from a visual viewpoint. Not that there isn't some good stuff in there but I didn't like a lot of it.

Visually it's stunning, but the movement does work against it. But it destroys a lot of other superhero films, which don't try for breathtaking visuals at all.
