If the game is up to date then it is just an unlock.

Go to the cathedral ward it should now be unlocked.

A door in the cathedral ward that was locked is now open for no reason. It's something the game really should have showed you via a cutscene.

Does it lead up to a tower that has a:

Locked door I can't open?

and

Down to
Some other hunters dream and than back to the cath
?

If so I am completely lost still...

The gate to the Cathedral Ward square should be open as well.

Yes. That gate you opened at the bottom back to the cathedral was a shortcut. Head back through it and keep exploring the new area.

Hey guys figured someone here would know what the best option would be so I finished BB a few months ago and decided I would return later to do all the side bosses I missed and the DLC. So I want to start the DLC tonight but my character is level 45 on NG+ and I beat
cleric beast and gascoigne
but it took a pretty long time my damage is decently low and so I looked up what the average level of people who did the DLC and everyone said they were 100~ on NG.

Long story short would I have a better chance of just making a new character and rushing to the dlc and doing it from there or would I have a better chance of doing it on my level 45 NG+ character. I'm just worried since I heard the dlc scales really hard.

You want to make a new character and just basically get yourself to end game level.

Can someone tell me the point at which I start the DLC before finishing the main game? Not trying to go into NG+

Well it happens long before you beat the game.

At any point after you beat
Vicar Amelia you go back to the hunters dream and pick up and item on the stairs that wasn't there before.
And it tells you what to do.

So not knowing where to go I decided to do the chalice thing. I got to the boss where you get
3 fatties
. I almost got them lol.

No. The next story boss is in the big building right beside the entrance to HCL.

I am talking about at the top of the stairs where there is a big door. You can go left or right.

I remember one side and two homes asking for blood. The other side I think was going into a forest.

That big door is the way to the boss. The side that goes to the forest is optional (But you should totally do it because the reward is great) and the other side is not something you have to worry about for quite a while.

Well thanks to PS+ Cloud saves, USB saves, and whatever I lost access to my save.

Who would have though two backups would fail for no reason.

I don't even want to play anymore.

the earliest you can access it is
after defeating Vicar Amelia in cathedral ward, returning to the hunter's dream, and returning to cathedral ward.
That is too early to jump in. I think I was about lvl 100 before doing the DLC.

i did it after
defeating Mergo's Wet Nurse
but I think if you do it just before then there will be additional dialogue at some point if that matters to you.

you won't go into NG+ until after defeating
Gehrman or Moon Presence
who are the final bosses of the game.

Yea I am about to throw the game in the garbage.

PS+ cloud save didn't save me...nor does the USB save. No matter what I do:

* Delete the save and download from either
* License thingy doesn't work

What gives?

Did you upload the save file to the server manually? To my knowledge the automated upload occurs usually at night in rest mode. And was the USB-stick faulty?

It worked just fine for me with a USB backup save, and I uploaded the save manually to the server just in case.

Bought the game since december based on Gaf's advice but never started it. I decided to boot it today ans start dying...and i did die alot. Mind you, my only experience with soul games was demon souls in which I beat the first boss only and that was a long time ago.

A couple hours in (3 or 4), I am starting to get it. I realizes that the key is to explore and not get stuck trying to beat one enemy. I reached the cleric boss and died 3 times. I gave up on him and continued exploring. I got to
father gascoigne
and got my ass handed to me, but by that time the regular enemies have become very easy as I am getting better at the timing of their attacks. So I decided to try the cleric boss again and I got it on my first try. Now I need to plan my next move and for that I need some advice.

I still have the underground area with the giant rats to explore and
father gascoigne
. Which one should I tackle next?

Also I saw a cathedral key for sell at the shop. What does it do? I dont remember seeing any door that require a key.
I am playing with the cleaver. Can I change to other types of weapon? Where?

Thanks in advance.

If you haven't already, you can go back to the hunter's dream and level up. You just need 1 insight. You can find/buy all sorts of weapons. Just find one that seems right for you. There is a trick to beating father g, but you need a particular item. I believe you can find it by exploring the sewers some more.

When fighting Father G, you can
parry his attacks by shooting him just before he hits you, then walking up and attacking him.

That's probably the easiest way, as it does a load of damage to him, and it's a good way to get used to
parrying
.

Anyone double dipping on the official guide revision?

I'm getting in on this for the first time since the original guide was out of print and going for >$120 on ebay. Even though I've beaten BB many times, I love having these massive Future Press tomes dedicated to some of my favorite games. The quality is on another level.

I kinda want to get into bloodborne again. I never finished it
(admittedly, I got too scared during the spider part)
. But I feel like my skills might be better after Dark Souls 3.

I love the lore and setting but was wondering if anyone wanted to co-op the entire thing with me? Is that even possible?

Done with father gascoigne. Taking a break, bloodborne is not a game I'll play after a long day of work so I'll probably resume next week end.

I felt like it's great after work, but that depends for sure.
It soaks you in and makes you forget about everything else.
Currently opened up a few shortcuts at Cathedral and then died and lost loooots of Echoes. But now I have new opportunities and that's always exciting.

I have now spend about 5 months on that game and that time added up because its definitly now game for a few rounds after a hard day of work... Sometimes I am more in the mood, but most the time I am to stressed to play more then one, two sessions per week^^

I wish Bloodborne had a boss select mode. I know it isn't very in keeping with the game but I could replay that Lady Maria fight over and over. Might be one of my favourite boss fights alongside Vergil from DMC3.

ok forget about what I said regarding playing after work :)
I am addicted and its because of you Gaf.

Now back to the matter, questions:

1. I like the saw cleaver, is there another more powerful version available later or I can just continue upgrade the initial one?

2. I never upgraded my pistol (hunter). is there any reason to? I only use it for stun and it seems to be doing fine.

3.I've seen people referring to pizza cutter, is it the saw cleaver? is it that bad?

4.I've met a hunter after father gascoigne, while the machine gun guy was shooting at me. I killed him, went back to hunters dream and later return to the area but he did not respawn. Was there anything particular with him?

thanks!!

This game...sooo good.

You can pretty much upgrade any weapon you want as most or all the upgrade materials are farmable. There is a saw spear which is pretty strong to. I think that may be the pizza cutter.

If you use your gun to stun and pull of visceral (which I hope you do) it is worth it.

I use the shotgun for parrying myself. That was a special NPC, yea he won't respawn.

what does upgrading do in particular that is worth it?

No lol. Makes you feel BA though haha.

But at got talking about weapons or guns?

Weapons are totally worth it.

Though if you have extra upgrade materials (considering after awhile you can buy most / farm them easily) upgrading the gun gets you one gem slot.

1. Nope. The Beasthunter Saif from the DLC is kinda similar though.

2. Nope.

3. They're referring to the whirligig saw. It's an awesome weapon.

4. You could have left him alive and then befriended him later in the game for a special gesture.

Think he meant the other hunter in that area, not Djura.
