Who would I eat?
Probably afoni.
Not because he's a particularly fine specimen, mostly because I know I wouldn't have to listen to his bullshit or suffer the sight of his bad haircut if he was sizzling on a spit.

The social obligation to impart empty platitudes on unknown co-workers always gave me a mild sense unease, like I'm signing the world's most pointless contract for no apparent reason.Ferfooksake
Just been told that my contract has been extended till the end of September now. I wish these people would make their damn minds up.
Also had to sign a card this morning because someone I don't know in a different department is leaving. I look at the card and every possible variation of "best of luck" has been written, leaving me no choice but to go for the generic message as well, so I look like I just copied everyone else.
Should've put 'Happy Birthday!'.
Getting one of my students to sign a card for the other instructor who had just had a baby and they signed it 'Thank You'.
At least it stands out!
To be fair, he probably wasn't invited to the island in the first place.
I think I'd probably take the initiative and train the local wildlife into loyal subordinates. Then, and only then, will I find 2 other people to join my cause and kill the rest of you off. In the end, only I will remain. I will fashion a raft out of your skeletons and use your skins as a sail. At this point I will sadly be completely reliant on the erratic winds, but that's just life that is.
I'm not naming names but the larger ones amongst you should watch your backs....
Skinny and buff guys and gals will be safe
I'd destroy you and that stupid conch with a boulder before any of that happens
But you have glasses. My logicism is indenyable.
By the way did anyone ever see the American version of Lord of the Flies? It was made in 1990 I think. Pretty bad but also funny at times.
I'm not Piggy. If anyone is Piggy it's probably Shorty.
If I needed glasses (and I think I do because I now have some absolutely awful eyesight), I would never wear contacts. Putting stuff in your eyes, the risk of going blind or getting a disease... *shudders*
That reminds me, actually. I've been considering getting contacts, but I'm not sure. How do I sort that shit out? Do they get delivered to my optician and I just pick them up or something? Are there free trials or some shit?
I'm not sure how the whole 'buying gel things for your eyes' malarkey works.
Same. Horror stories of people sleeping with them in and getting infected then having an eyeball removed. At least you can get a cool eye patch I guess.
I'll go to an opticians once my student loan is in then, see if I fancy it.
I'm looking for electrical work at the minute as things are a bit quiet with me and the bro's business right now. The students are away, people are on holiday or at home watching the kids for the school holidays, etc. There isn't enough work for two at the moment so I'm seeking work elsewhere through agencies.
So I've had multiple offers for work, but as my ECS card has expired (bascially a card that proves your competence as an electrician) I've had to book in for my test again at the end of September to renew it. Most of the work I've been offered is as an electricians mate for like £8/9 an hour as you don't require an ECS card for that role. I was willing to accept one of these roles in Altrincham which is about an hours commute. Not ideal for the money, but whatever, it's work.
But I've just been offered a role at Manchester Uni starting Tuesday, 15 minutes on the bus, for £14 an hour. All that was required was a few photos of my qualifications and ID details emailed to the agency, no interview at all (they're based down the country), and they are adamant that an ECS card isn't needed.
My worry is that it seems to have just landed in my lap, and they are willing to let me work without an ECS card which I'm fairly certain is technically illegal. It just seems a bit too good to be true. They also said I need to work a week in hand meaning I'll do a full two weeks work before I see (or don't as the case may be) any money. I just get the slight feeling that I'm being taken for a ride by some dodgy cowboy agency.
I've checked out the agency online (Right Contract Services) and they seem legit, but then I guess that's the idea.
What do you think? Am I worrying about nothing?

Thanks guys, I guess I'm just over thinking it. It's just the hoops I had to jump through to be considered for the electricians mate role in Altrincham, then this role far closer to home for twice the money just lands in my lap, it just seemed too easy!
Anyway, happy days, I guess I'll stop stressing and just get on with it.
(I've had three more offers in the last two hours, there is so much building work going on here!)
Edit: yeah, I figured about the qualification pics jimbor, just looking for problems I guess. And I'm swimming in offers here as it is, the job in Sale I was just offered basically asked me how much I wanted to get paid, gimme the monies!
It's an installation project at Manchester Uni so I assume it'll be 3 phase supplies, gear trays, rock rose lighting banks, socket trunking and such.Maintenence or installation?

It's been a while since I did work like that but it should be cool. I just hope they don't expect me to have my own plant and stuff, I've only got a toolbox full of hand tools, no testing equipment or anything.
I guess we'll see on Tuesday innit, looking forward to some proper sparky graft to be fair!
Edit: I do have my Fluke tester, but no mutli-meter or anything.
Which should I watch: 2001 Space Odyssey or Predator?
Both great movies. Are you looking for action or inaction?
Not sure, just narrowed it down to these two. I can't really decide between them.
Amazing gif
Did people see the 50 Cent ice bucket thing? Hilarious.
Made a classic error this morning. Woke up and looked at my watch blurry eyed, saw the time and rushed in to work only to find myself at work and hour early.
Made a thread about the new Civ game. Very few replies. Abloo bloo ;_;
If you're not talking about framerate, console wars, JRPG' or a souls game, it don't fly. I learned this after I spent ages trying to do an arcade gaf OT. A few replies and then it sunk without a trace. I feel your pain! Grumble grumble Yankee kids running the show grumble grumble only speak in gaf memes grumble grumble killing all discussion grumble grumble.
Morning all! Still hungover. Rubbish. Lunch out today tho and a little break this weekend.
juat to let you cunts know, I'm making the next OT and I don't giev a daaam
You've barely posted in this thread man, Sploatee should have first refusal.
Always Tash with the big OP plans, never following through *sigh*
I'd have thought "new gameplay" would have been of interest but it seems not. Is it a faux pas to bump your own thread? To hell with etiquette I shall shamelessly bump it now. I need discussion to distract me from what I'm being payed to do god dammit!
Hungover still? Are you one of these people that gets hangovers that just last for days on end? Bugger that.
It's a shame that one died, but I don't think US kids have the same memories of arcades that those who grew up in the UK did. It inspired me to write something out of it though, so it made me happy.[/QUOTE

I'm glad to hear it.
