JRPGs fucking suck. I keep looking at P4G and FFXHD/2 on my Vita memory card and seething. Why must such lengthy handheld games be in such a painfully shit genre?

Still, I'm going to take one last swing at 'em while I'm on holiday. If I haven't finished either by the new year then I'm never buying another JRPG again.

Western games > Japanese games.

JRPGs are the coolest, it's life sims that suck.

I see you Animal Crossing, you can't guilt trip me with Isabelle.

Been a while since I posted in hyar.

Been unemployed for a week now. It's been fun but also a bit weird, I like sleeping in till the afternoon and being free to drink every evening but I'd also like something constructive to do as well that isn't applying fer jerbs.

I am now the proud owner of a provisional driving license so my passport doesn't need to come with me everywhere. Had my first go behind the wheel of my mum's car, succeeded in making her glasses fly off when I went a bit rough with the breaks. My experience could be filmed and called "101 Ways to Stall a Car" and I am now convinced that cars are too complicated.

Had fun Destiny raiding without that splooty person, was great.

My Welsh housemate is getting a TV later today so we'll portion out a chunk of our oversized kitchen and make a living room area with sofas and whatnot which means waving goodbye to our rubbish pool table, who soaked up so much spilt alchohol in the last year. Oh pool table, we hardly knew ye.

manchester people:
let's stop talking about bums and talk about nice places in the city to live/rent. one or two bedrooms, max, so nothing fancy pants. go go go go!
Northern Quarter if you're a hipster.
Old Trafford if you're Bohemian.
Chorlton if you're a hippy.
Didsbury if your a toff.
Hmm yeah. I wonder if Mush is busy/ill or if we just pissed her off too much last week.
Nah, surely not, it was hardly a blazing, bitter family feud! Nobody said anything spiteful or malicious, just some casual aspersions cast, some hypocrisy called out, apologies were made, we moved on.

Done.

Maturity, bitches.
I am now the proud owner of a provisional driving license so my passport doesn't need to come with me everywhere.

Jot that down as "jobs I should have done ages ago". I even ordered the application form an age back.

EDIT: Since the discussion of GAF debates cropped up, has anyone followed that GAMERGATE thread? It's like a chunk of the gaming industry I have no idea what is going on in as I sit in my quiet corner gossiping over Smash Bros pics.

Gamergate...I just don't care. I don't care what those people want, I don't care if they say mean things on twitter about people I don't care about. I can't believe it's still going on.

yeah raid was fun last night as ever, just all the banter got us through.

Shame about all of your cattle errors, did you get them herded in the end?

RIP pool table you sounded like an awesome consistently drunk guy.

I hope an admin doesn't stumbe across this, but my feelings towards gamergate is thus, all the people directly involved seemed like dickheads before it started.
then when the internet got involved they then used the only thing they knew, aka being a dickhead to convay to the media that they were dick heads.
All the death threats, doxxing and calling women all sorts yeah those guys doing that deserve all kinds of hell and the shock horror of finally uncovering that the games media is as bent as all over media is hardly shocking.
The only thing I have learned is if a person is a dick, and you give them a stage, you'll create an even bigger dick to deal with.
What worries me the most is the fact that some of the women involved in this have really basic and quite frankly shocking bad and mediocre writing abilities, making said people bullet proof would only hurt games journalism more.

Might I add the whole reason that games journalism is so bad and has gone to shit is these publishers of all the great AAA games block out anyone who leaks and gives unfavorable reviews,
so with that basis of course it's going to be a seriously corrupt sector to begin with anyway.

It took me ages to do it but I finally finished Season 1 of Arrow. Oh my god it got so good. I ordered Season 2 today so it should be here tomorrow (thank you Amazon Prime).

Some of you may know that last month I found out that Mrs Matrix is pregnant. Well, we went for a scan today and got some news...

E8Bthpr.jpg

Motherfucking twins, yo!

Suddenly all our careful planning has been undone and all the stress and cost has doubled.

Also, we were struggling to come up with one name for each gender that we could agree on. Now we have to find 2 for each gender as we don’t want to find out what we have until the birth.

Apparently there are so many differences in a multiple pregnancy that we have to start our research from the start.

Any britgaffers with twins that could offer some advice?

A lot of sweating and crying and cursing this afternoon as sofas were rolled out of bedrooms and into the kitchen. My sofa needed to pass through three different doors but now we finally have a living room with a TV, my PS3 and my housemate's PC tower which he hopes to use as a Steam box.

EDIT

Congratulations Mr Matrix, the one on the left is clearly the evil one

Congrats, mane! Can they tell if they're fraternal or identical yet?

Me and the missus are going to try soon and twins are our my main concern as she releases twice as many eggs and my soldiers are super fertile.

Thanks guys, apparently they have their own placentas, which is the best kind of twin pregnancy as it means there is no chance they will be conjoined.

The wife is kind of an expert on pregnancy and child care as she does it for a living so she and the radiographer were discussing the technicalities. I didn’t understand a word but I think we have to wait for our 12 week scan for more details.

The radiographer made a joke about having to save now for uni fees, and from then on all I could see were little pound signs with wings flying away. We’ll have to buy 2 of everything and trawl hotukdeals for bargains on buggies and supplies.

After we found out, the wife told me that her family has a history of twins skipping a generation and it would either be her or her sister to have some. You’d think that in 6 years that little detail might have come up before.

Congratulations Matrix! That's awesome mane!

Edit:glad the medical prognosis points to twenty fingers, twenty toes and all that jazz.

:D

Thanks. The prognosis is pretty good, even though multiple pregnancies are classed as high risk. We get assigned a specialist midwife and doctor, we have scans every 3 weeks and it’s pretty much a given that the delivery will be by caesarean. Which is fine with me; I once dated a woman with a kid and she had a fanny like a ripped out fireplace.

Also, we will have to schedule the caesarean so we will know exactly when to book our maternity and paternity leave.

They will be delivered a month early so will almost certainly have to spend some time in the ICU or incubator though so that might be hard.

That's very specific stuff for this early in the pregnancy. Still glad to hear everything looks good.

Also as to the bolded... thanks for the image o_O

Dude, congratulations!

Twins are great. Seems like it'd be hard at the beginning, but later on they'll amuse each other. Well, except when they're fighting like cat and dog anyway ;)

Congrats Matrix :D! Treasure your spare time now for when the twins arrive, it will be gone :).

Thanks, my job gives me loads of free time to myself so I’m used to lots of gaming and movie watching. I need to accept that I will lose all my ‘me time’.

We were planning on 2 kids in total anyway so we are happy that we can get the whole baby phase done in one go and only have to go through 1 pregnancy. And I like that they will always have a close friend no matter what happens or where we end up.

:D Man if you thought S1 was good, by golly you're in for some fun times with S2! Be prepared to get very vocal with your tv...

Congratulations! Twins are awesome. My friend has a boy and a girl aged 9 now, she's really glad she only had to do the whole pregnancy thing once. She said it was tiring but totally worth it.

Thanks, I really wanna know about the positives of twins to offset the massive stress and cost I keep focusing on.

I’m actually looking forward to being able to be patronising and self righteous to some people who act that way to us now because they have it so hard looking after 1 baby.

I can deffo do some time tonight as the missus is out having a life.

I can't do tonight now but can do weekend probably.

I did it last night so I'm pretty familiar with it now. We did it in about an hour and a half so it can be done!

I want to do it again though because it's my favourite part of the game (it's also good practice for when I move onto heroic difficulty...eek).

What level / class are you?

Congrats on the babbies.

Has anyone ever seen the old cliche of twins with similar names in real life? Obviously the matching clothes thing is a stretch, but I figure the similar names (Sam/Samantha, etc) can't be too out there.

Yep, two guys at my college, Nikesh and Nimesh (Nim and Nik). They also look incredibly similar, to the point that even their closest friends would mix them up sometimes. Of course a lot of the time they just played it up like the Weasley twins - "You mean Nik? I'm Nim... nah I'm only joking, I am Nik. Or am I?" etc etc.

Since my mum's a twin I guess she'd qualify too (Sarah and Susan).

I can do that here! Ohohoho

Ok I think it might be pretty tough at 26 because later enemies are level 27 and 28 so you'll have a penalty to the damage you do. I don't see why it's not doable though.

Void damage is useful if you have it. There are good YouTube vids on all the different stages but I can talk you through it anyway. It's a bit more complex than hold square to deploy Dinklebot but it's still essentially shooting things crossed with tower defence crossed with a third person beat em up mini bit.

Oh and a bit of stealth and platforming as a break halfway through.

I cant' be the only one that is basically ignoring Uni fees? I figure let my kids rack up huge government sponsored debts. If they earn enough to comfortably pay it back then great. If not then fuck it. Doesn't seem to make sense for me to fund them through uni.

Obviously we'll support if needed in tight spots

I don't care about it either. Fact is, kids going to uni now have to pay less upfront than I did (£1000 on the first day of the year each year, thankyewverymuch) and then the loan is paid back automatically in small amounts that they will not even notice. It's an example of entitled children freaking out over nothing just so they can have something to bitch about and feel special.

or more accurately, maybe it's an example of the media looking for these kids to put in front of a camera around election time. It's an emotive issue that people cannot seem to think logically or calmly about

I agree. Really, uni should be free, but as it is It's just about the cheapest debt there is.

I say this as someone who took a professional studies loan to cover the cost of law school and who is still paying it off 7 years later.

This is exactly why at 18 I decided to go and just find a job, Ironically I started working in IT support for a university,
I had an awesome time and partied as hard as a student but was getting paid to do so.
I'm now 26 and have a really decent job and a great career history.
where if a uni student with a computer science degree and I went for an interview for the same role, I would imagine 90% of the time I would beat that guy.

Sure there are professions like being a lawyer and doctor when you need a degree, but surely if you want to do photography you don't need a bloody degree...

My friend's kids are Jenson and Jasmine. If I had twins that were a boy and a girl they'd be Jacen and Jaina.

I'm exactly the same, I didn't have a clue what I wanted to do so didn't see the point in going to Uni and getting in a load of debt. I earn more than all my mates now, was the right decision for me. I'm sure Uni is great if you know what you want to do, but it's not the only option.

I enjoyed uni, but I didn't go to party hard so I guess I did it wrong. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I partied too hard the first time round and then dropped out after a year.

Second time round the best bits were meeting Emma and reading Middlemarch!

I partied like a mofo through my teens and twenties, didn't need uni for that! Earning thirty grand a year at eighteen led to crazy times.
