I think we shpuld remove the criminal aspect of taking drugs. At the end of the day its your own choice. Keep tge support groups, educate people on their effects. Youve already fucked your life as an addict theres no point in labelling them criminals too. Just gonna make rehabilitation harder.

Yeah it's gross how many people online are just devoid of empathy and have this really black and white, destructive and cold world view. It makes me sad to think that a lot of people are like that.

I wish this could happen but I doubt it. Politicians are so childish, they can't talk about this stuff with any degree of seriousness or moderation. They're playing to a hardline anti-drugs base that probably doesn't exist any more. Recreational use should be allowed, and treatment and support should be available when needed. It's happening all the time and will never not happen, it needs to be taken from behind closed doors and accepted as part of the human experience.

At least it was like... being honest that it was effectively a cartoon? Like, I didn't feel they were pretending the situation wasn't as set up as they have in the past by going all out silly on the TGPD. Like, I felt a bit "OH SURE IT DID" when Hammond's car rolled back and over but the end section just was silly enough.

I find the American culture of conspiracy in politics and the rise of niche beliefs thanks to the Internet fascinating. I've actually read a few books and written some papers for university classes based on the subject. The thread I got the gif from was about a bald 911 truther who interrupted the post-Superbowl press conference by stealing the microphone and saying "Investigate 9/11, 9/11 was perpetrated by the government" before being escorted away by security.

Yeah, I'm kind of done with Top Gear. I'll still watch it if it happens to be on, but I would tune in religiously every week when they first started this format. It's all starting to feel a bit contrived now, the format is becoming stale. Having said that, I didn't watch it last night.

Still, it's better than most other Sunday night TV. It's still entertaining, just nowhere near as good as it used to be.

The music on Top Gear is almost always amazing. Portishead, Lamb, David Holmes, DJ Shadow, Aphex Twin, etc. They always choose cool stuff.

The camerawork and editing is excellent too, it's a proper classy production.

And yeah, the adventure episodes are usually the best. The India one a few series back was so good! I still wish they had more proper car reviews though. Like BGBW said, they seem to have moved too far away from the magazine format IMO.
