....

I'd eat that with a fork and knife, otherwise it would make a mess in my hands :/

You make your product worse and less people want to buy it, who'd have thought

agreed, Dairy Milk has also suffered, bars have changed shape from squares to ovals, they are smaller too and the chocolate is starting to taste like the cheap and nasty stuff you'd find in a pound-land advent calendar.

I'm not sure if Wispa's are still as good, one of the best things Cadbury did was to bring back those bars of goodness.

the original dairy milk recipe was amazing. America always fucks up everything because we produce greedy fuck business, marketing, and financial people. And I say this as an American.

I don't like these but my girlfriend loved them when they came around each season.

Then one day she said they just weren't the same for some reason and stopped. I thought she just didn't like them anymore. Guess this is why

If Kraft or whoever can replace the dairy, sugar, cocoa liquor, and cocoa butter elements of milk chocolate with cheaper substitutes, they will. Probably HFCS, partially hydrogenated vegetable fats, and some sort of edible wax in there as fillers now.

This is only for the UK version right?

The US versions of cadbury chocolate has always been hershey's chocolate for decades, no?

Well, you could always eat this amazing-ness from a non-sellout company:

Ha good luck finding Ritter sport anywhere. The only place I ever saw it being sold was Woolworths (which went bankrupt) and Sainsburys (which no longer sell it).

As for the ole Creme Egg, glad Kraft got a good financial kicking, they deserved it. I used to consume a ton of Cadburys chocolate till Kraft took over and changed the recipes. The final Cadburys product I still bothered with was the Creme Egg. That was till last year when the new recipe made me feel physically nauseous.

It is always the same old story. I remember when Nestle took over Rowntrees again the products suffered because of it. There is fuck all we can do about it though except vote with our wallet which will inevitably lead to companies thinking "hm these products are no longer profitable we should ditch them".

Bumping because Jesus Christ what a travesty. Just had one and it's incredibly noticeable: the chocolate isn't textured the same, and as such you feel like you're eating an off-brand imitation.

Thank you for the report from the field.

I noticed my local corner shop has been selling off all cream eggs on the cheap.

The public have spoken.

Cadbury has gone to shit worldwide and has been for a good time now.
Dairy milk has less cocoa than even the cheap Aldi chocolate which is actually quite good quality for a supermarket block.

Fuck Kraft (sorry, "Mondelez"). More than this, they bought over the company promising to keep jobs in the UK, and then immediately shut down production and shifted it abroad.

Standard corporate behavior, but a phenomenally poor way to treat a beloved British brand, regardless of how you feel about Cadbury's products in themselves.

And then their board refused to attend parliament. Cowardly cutting cunts.

Yup fuck Kraft.

I understand wanting to streamline costs but Christ, don't mess around with the actual receipe.

Many people who I wouldn't have thought would be aware of this are fully engaged and realise it's gone to shit.

They've quite simply killed a brand. Even if they reverted the decision, the damage is done

I'm willing to bet all the decisionmakers were American and didn't realize there was a huge gulf between what we produce here in the US vs the quality standards expected in the UK.

Aldi here in the states is a godsend for one of my friends who's on food stamps (and has a few kids). Ridiculously cheap prices on a lot of stuff.

Aldi is ironically becoming quite popular with the middle classes.

Oh man, thanks for a laugh. Not my local. It is full of crackhead beggars area. My Aldi is a bit like Iceland or B&M.
There always a fighting in the store. A lot of police coming back.

Their foods and baking stuff are great although, shame about atmosphere.

I've never liked Creme Eggs (but then again I've never liked anything but plain milk or plain dark), but I do emphasise with its fans. It seems like the entire country is just an auction house for whatever foreign entity wants to come in, buy something then ruin it.
