That explains the weird aftertaste.

Hey Yanks, we don't want the shitty chocolate that you sell to the gullible people of America. We've had the real stuff and would like to keep it that way.

Thanks.

Ha good luck finding Ritter sport anywhere. The only place I ever saw it being sold was Woolworths (which went bankrupt) and Sainsburys (which no longer sell it).

As for the ole Creme Egg, glad Kraft got a good financial kicking, they deserved it. I used to consume a ton of Cadburys chocolate till Kraft took over and changed the recipes. The final Cadburys product I still bothered with was the Creme Egg. That was till last year when the new recipe made me feel physically nauseous.

It is always the same old story. I remember when Nestle took over Rowntrees again the products suffered because of it. There is fuck all we can do about it though except vote with our wallet which will inevitably lead to companies thinking "hm these products are no longer profitable we should ditch them".
I believe lidl sells that chocolate, I remember buy it before and loving it.

Good. Kraft ruined the whole Cadbury's range.

I remember seeing Rich Hall five years ago and he was ashamed of the fact Kraft had taken over Cadburys, I wonder if in our lifetime the shops will be empty of the purple wrapper.

Aldi is indeed excellent, I haven't shopped in ASDA or Tesco in years now.

Kraft have ruined Cadburys
People shoppping in Aldi
what next? Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria

Lidl is the shit apart from their fresh fruit and veg.

I love the aisle of mystery down the middle. You might get a wetsuit one day or a bag of concrete mix the next.

Pretty much, I just imagine him being a 12 year old kid "your mum shops at aldi" pathetic class baiting snobbery.
Aldi is full of middle class people where I go, it's quite amusing. Personally I just can't go anywhere else for my main shopping because I end up spending double for the same quality. I can't justify that.

Aldi/Lidl sneering is always funny

Shops are both excellent

I do have to mention that after being in over a dozen stores in Sweden and London I have always find the staff to be extremely rude and lacking in knowledge of their products. I don't expect them to know everyone but I kinda expect them to understand what crème brûlée is when its on the frontpage of their own ad flyer.

Having said that I do find that they often have cheap and good quality products but the service has miles to go.

Need to try the new creme eggs

I'll buy a bar of Tesco original white chocolate and it would suit me better than any Milky Bar ever could. Store-bought chocolate can be damn good when it is.

Always a Creme Egg past out after mass on Easter Sunday and they didn't taste that different to me.

Well, it is too late you sold out.

Future generations of British children will know only the taste of Kraft Eggs.

Pack of Bourbon biscuit in Tesco is €2.50. Aldi its €0.50.

90% of my shopping is done in Aldi which I do the weekly shop. The sweets are so much cheaper as well.

Not a big fan of Oreo but the Oreo Cheesecake in Hard Rock Cafe is GOAT

I have been wondering if they would lose any money, and hoping that they would. But somehow I think their 'business instincts' may ultimately be proved right, ie. there will be a small blip for a year & then everyone will forget what they used to taste like & keep buying them.

Huh, something was off about the last one I had and now I know why. Creme Eggs seem to be on offer in the supermarket near work all the time. Fuck 'em!

Yanks fuck everything up.

That being said the Oreo bar is nice.

Hey, y'know, if you Brits wanted something better, maybe next time you can decide not to ram austerity down your own throat and kill your own companies from loss of demand. Maybe if you're good to us, we'll cut you in on the Chocodollar after we get rid of Lindt, next.

Sounds like they tried to reduce costs to get more profits and people reacted appropriately.
When will companies learn?

Never. They do this shit all the time. Really shows what they think of their customers.

"These disgusting pigs will eat any kind of shit"

TBH most confectionary in the UK has degraded in quality over the years, replacing quality ingredients with more sugar and other crap. I got a tin of Fox's biscuits recently which used to be amazing, now they all taste the same.

Not to mention the size of stuff these days is a joke. I remember King Size Mars Bars for 35p, they were enourmous!

Usually I'll go out and buy a pack of Cadbury eggs, but this year I've only had a single egg. Don't really feel like having more, the taste is too "off" now.

If I want chocolate I'll just track down a Ritter Sport bar. Had an Alpine Milk Chocolate one for the first time not too long ago and it felt like a whole new world had opened before me. Fucking DIVINE.

Health Watchdogs in the UK put an end to the king size choc bars due to fat/sugar content, Mars Duo is sort of the same idea but in two parts, it's quite a bit more than 35p though!

Kitkat Chunky as well, they used to have a huge amount of chocolate on them.

Creme eggs and all the other easter candy will be dirty cheap at your local stores in the morning.

Creme eggs are always one of the first things to sell out, even after the change. :(

My problem with Cadbury eggs is not JUST the change in recipe, but the fact that they have also shrank (very noticeably) while also going up in price... that's three hits to this product, all in a row. As more people catch on, it's sure to continue dropping in sales until they do something.

How can you A) alter your product to be inferior in ingredients and taste, B) shrink the size and C) increase the price ALL at the same time and expect to get away with it?

Tastes like cheap christmas decoration chocolate from Home Bargains. I think even the actual full egg chocolate has changed though. Even the buttons ones used to have really nice thick velvety chocolate halves - now they're thinner and just have a different texture.

I don't buy it that often these days just because I've grown out of it really. But it's changed for the worse.
