Debating having folks over for the Navy - ND game; my wife and I are the sole ND grads with everyone else showing up Academy. Thankfully the last few years they haven't been bitter, plus there's always the chance they pull a 2007.

Which poll did I miss?

I think a poll can only be added by a mod. I wanted to get some quantitative analysis on CFB GAF's opinion of an optimal playoff. I mocked up a poll in the last thread. No biggie if the poll can't happen, but when was the last time a CFB thread had a poll? We're about due for one!

Optimal CFB playoff:

A) Top 3 plus Notre Dame
B) Just Notre Dame
C) Other (vote invalidated)

I think we left an idea in the other thread that was worthy of discussion.

21 teams. 20 teams complete one bracket, and the winner faces Notre Dame in a game that begins immediately.

This is brilliant. CFB postseason scheduling should be more like the WWE whenever possible. I can just picture Brian Kelly sprinting to midfield to cash in his title shot in front of a group of confused and exhausted Alabama players.

We could have seven other teams play each other on the field at once for the briefcase.

Also Pac-12: Athletes who are injured in college will have expenses covered for 4 years after leaving school

Not a fan of the top reform. Hope those bottom-dwelling PAC12 schools with breakout stars enjoyed mining all that dirt to unearth a gem for the top schools.

When Newsweek tries to cover college football: http://www.newsweek.com/canadas-laval-university-shows-how-do-football-right-279774

Corrections: This article mistated the year Nordiques left Quebec City, it was 1995, not 1994. The article also mispelled Gilles Lepine and gave Alex Skinner's name incorrectly. It also misstated when Laval played Concordia, it was at the Dunsmore Cup. Also, this article stated Laval has the longest winning record in college football, it is actually North Dakota State.

I'm not saying this picture of Aaron Murray, Watts Dantzler, and a mariachi band should be in the OP, but it's a damn fine picture for this week.

@11W Rod Smith has been dismissed from Ohio State for a violation of team rules, sources told Eleven Warriors. http://11w.rs/12W8qhH

huh....

Not a huge loss, always seemed like Rod was ready to be the guy at RB but had a terrible case of the fumbles.

I expect our defense to hold up generally well against Georgia's offense, even if they have Gurley.

I expect our offense to take a giant dump on whatever advantage that gives us, though.

As a Gator fan, this whole week just kind of feels like this, but in even slower motion:

The other names are speculation at this point, reading that 5 were busted and 2-3 of them will be dismissed.

Lame, everyone always thought Rod would be great one day.

And then Mark Emmert comes out midway through the game and makes it a "no flags" game, touchdowns count anywhere (no out of bounds), though two non-participating teams are called in to be lumberjacks from the 20-to-20.

Too much?

I expect Florida's defense to play pretty well also. That hasn't been the issue, it's been their offense turning the ball over so much. If we have Gurley back this week as I think we will, the game seems much more in hand. Chubb is great, but he's not Gurley and to have that amount of depth where we can roll in backs who both play so hard throughout the game will eventually wear Florida down where those 2-3 yard runs will start to become 8-12 yard runs late in the game. That's been the pattern all year, our OL wears them down and our RB's start to take over. I expect the same in this game.

I expect heavy blitzes early in the game to get in Harris' head. Lots of defensive adjustments pre-snap to try to confuse him, etc.

Pretty cool history on the Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party here. Of course it's from the Georgia perspective (the correct perspective), but it's pretty fair and has some cool stories in there about the series.
