Concord players have started reporting trouble finding matches as more abandon the game

I'm glad people are rejecting this DEI bullshit.
Wake the fuck up, Sony.

It wouldnt help the online MP player base, but every shooter should have bots. Whether it's to fill out a team or someone wants goof around on their own just against the AI, it helps with retaining players.

I've had my fun playing COD 4 Remastered and going 300-3 against Recruit bots. Even if the bots cheat (COD sniper bots can track you staring through the bus on Bog!), it's better than zero bots.

I dont get how old ass games like Unreal could have bots and a modern day game cant.

It topped out at just under 2400 concurrent Steam players during the free open beta. Everyone saw this flop coming from a mile away holy shit. I can’t believe they went ahead with the $40 launch as planned.

They should refund everyone, make it F2P, and plan on shutting the servers down in a month or two.

Should have been F2P for a new IP. Remove PSN requirements, add more uniqueness to it and more personality to the characters.

Playing as what seems like a bunch of queer outcasts won't help either when 90% of your player base can't really identify with them.

On reddit some people are questioning if they should stop selling the game in some regions due to not being able to find matches for a few of the modes, and I would imagine it's a self-fulfilling cycle at this point where even more players will drop off because of the wait times.

On the bright side, when it goes F2P we can have another thread laughing about how low the numbers are all over again.

this does not surprise me at all

even in Halo Infinite, a game with multiple times the player count of Concord, I had at times issues finding matches during certain times of the day back when I still played it.

so at less than 600 players on steam (Halo Infinite at that time I had issues, usually had 3k+ daily players) I am not surprised at all.

now, as far as I am aware, Concord has less modes than Halo, so the players are more concentrated towards the same modes. which helps I assume.

Is it dead on PS as well? I thought more were on console and probably have cross-play turned off.
Even if it’s got 100 times more concurrent users on PS5 than PC, that would still be abysmal numbers, especially spread across multiple playlists.

I’ve seen several #PS5Share tagged posts on social media complaining about 8+ minute wait times in the Rivalry playlist and that the only consistent matchmaking is in the Brawl playlist where the basic TDM and Kill Confirmed game types are.

How much money does Sony want to lose?
Some suits over there must be fuming. It would be smart business to offer refunds an apology and make best of the rubble.
Another solution is to redesign the characters/aesthetic of the game (admitting that the dei stuff is poison)
Work on balance and gameplay changes.
Will they though?
Must suuuck being trapped by ideologues when, let’s be honest, most suits couldn’t give two sh*ts about DEI.
I think money will talk eventually. I see them cancelling the game in less than a month. (2 weeks I think)
Sonys gotta sleep in the bed they made.

I had a chance to try the game today. Plays really well and the production values are top notch. Nothing earth-shattering, but if this was F2P I could actually see myself playing it for a month or two.

Sony could have had something here, but they really shot themselves in the foot with the character designs, price and release date.
