They don't give you rocket launchers on post human.

To the original poster, I would re-load the previous save and before jumping on the elevator to the lab grab the HMG that's mounted right there and bring that up with you.

You sure? I picked up a launcher off of one of the bad guys I shot off the rooftop.

I'm playing on the second highest diff. and while it's not a huge problem, I keep getting slaughtered by the infinitely spawning mobs when trying to aim at chopper. At 3-4 attempts and I gave up for the night. I'm sure I'll whip through it next time, but did anyone else get a bit miffed at this sequence?
I played on the same difficulty and they're not infinite at that point, or at least they have delays before spawning more,
just take all the troops out then concetrate on the chopper when they stop, not when you just think they stopped, there should be plenty of time to take it out. It helps to have a HMG with you brought from downstairs and left just for the chopper, or, even faster, just get a rocket launcher from some of the troops that rapel down from the roof with ropes during the second wave (if you let them).

Well unless I was running into the same AI glitch many, many times in a row (I was testing configs on that setpiece) playing on post-human the rocket troopers don't spawn, where as on any other difficulty even if they died on the roof their weapons would drop down through the sky lights.

A) Incentive. Sorry, not usually a prig about spelling but that one annoyed me for some reason.

I have very bad dyslexia (yes I know everyone on internet claims to have it) and as the wrong word used was spelt correctly it was not picked up by my spell checker so I apologise.

B) I know audiophile GAF will burn my nuts for this but:

Logitech G35

Does a really good job with surround sound in my experience. Loved it with Dead Space 2 especially, but then Visceral Games is apparently to sound what Crytek is to graphics.

I am part of audiophile gaff, my B&W's need the exercise :p

When I played through on normal with the 360 version, there were no rocket launchers, or at least I couldn't find any on the floor, so I just kept pumping bullets into the heli and eventually it went down.

I also thought it was weird, because I had watched some playthrough gameplay footage on youtube and saw clearly highlighted rocket launchers on the floor, so that's what I was expecting to use when I got to that point myself. Must've been a glitch.

This happened as well on PS3 for me. When I played on the Soldier difficulty (normal) I remember picking up a rocket launcher off a dead trooper. When I played one difficulty up (Veteran) I was waiting for the troopers to drop the rocket launcher but they never did. Even shooting them on the roof didn't drop the RLs.

Finished it, the Cepth get hardcore near the end, especially the finale fight, 5 of them was a bit overkill on the second highest difficulty, I only won because the AI bugged out on me giving me enough time to dispatch two.
You should see it on the hardest difficulty. I ended up playing on the hardest difficulty by accident and thought I was on normal the entire time. Was shocked at how hard it was but kept going. Was a shock when I realized that I had just finished the game on Post-Human difficulty.

They give you rocket launchers on post-human, your game glitched out.

Oh no, no apology needed. I hate grammar/spelling nazi's and am ashamed with myself when I stoop to that.

But I do have to wonder, a 570 and you buy this on console. I know your reasons but... this is the sequel to Crysis?

Anyways, I guess considering the latest word on DX11 patch is 2-3 months out, it won't make much difference either way from console to PC except for framerate.

Wow, this shotgun attachement is so satisfying in tight quarters. I went from uber-stealth to close encounters in no time.

Fantastic.

After taking down the two gunners in my difficulty(notch below highest), I got a tactical visor update that pinpointed a rocket launcher by a window. I'm assuming it's the same for all difficulties, I dunno.

The AI did stupidly kill themselves on the rooftops regularly though. Trying to chuck grenades down at me only to have the throw land them at their feet, blowing themselves up in the process. I can usually forgive a single occurrence happening, but during that fight, it happened almost everytime with each soldier up there. Funny and sad.

Is there a cheat to get the nanosuit points? I always start with 0 because this is a buggy POS so i tried a trainer. It gave me lot's of points but i can't use them...

Finished it just now. Clocked in 6 hours and 45 mins.
It has to be longer than that o_O

The last level was very anti-climatic indeed.

And Alcatraz is Prophet? WTF Any explanations?

The game looked very good on PC though, sometimes i just had to stare at some objects and lighting. I'm going to go ahead and say this looks better than the first one (improved post processing and lighting, vaseline filter is easily overcome and much better performance) however it lacks the godly Parallax occlusion mapping and some textures are not so good.

Indeed. The rocket launcher gets dropped by one of the troops in all difficulties

From what I understand the suit was all symbiotic with Prophet and must've downloaded his memory/conciousness (That's why the suit is all "Get your ass to this place marine!!!" and you can see his face). I guess by the end Prophet = the suit and the suit is now in control of Alcatraz.

The opening of the book throws this very nice ending spoiler in your face the moment you start reading it:
Laurence Barnes, I think. Prophet.

Alcatraz, then. Whatever. It doesn’t matter. Of course I know the stats: I’m dead, not senile. Name, rank, serial number. Doesn’t mean shit. That’s not who I am anymore.

Alcatraz is essentially dead the whole time, its by end game that Prophet and Alcatraz become 1 entitiy. Prophets mind with Alcatraz body.

Damn, you know the plot isn't good when you're laughing out loud in the climactic moment. I wonder what Morgan was told to write, it's just ridiculous and doesn't resemble his works at all...

Pff what you playing on easy? I'm on the hardest difficulty 8) Only at the Wall Street part now after some time of play, no idea how long though but I understand that I still have a ways to go.

I just got an update on the 360, what was it for? I really wish they were required to tell you what the update was before forcing you to install it.

The playtime doesn't count your deaths/reloads.

Completely agree. It needed a final boss or a good set piece.
Instead, we got a bunch of same old enemies with a group of four "elite" enemies that are dumb as fuck, can be instakilled by a car, and get stuck on corners.
I felt the same way as when I saw Tron Legacy. I wondered where the hell the ending was.

Yeah, it's a shame about the last level.

The actual area where you were fighting was very cool, but they wasted it. The original Crysis knocked it out of the park with an incredibly epic finale. It may have been frustrating and brought many a PC to its knees, but it was pretty crazy looking and awesome.

They needed something at least that massive or epic to compare.

If next-gen consoles can give me games looking like Crysis 2 moving at 60fps I'd seriously be satisfied.

Imagine GTA's Liberty City with Crysis' detail. That's most likely what you'll get next generation.

The Unsafe Haven level is out of this world! The most jaw-dropping lighting effects i've ever seen on my console. CryEngine 3 is no joke.

This gif is great! and all the ones on the previous pages too.

This is a noob question, but what software are you guys using to capture footage for gifs like these? I wanna share some cool stuff too.

I hated the final encounter in Crysis 1. It looked pretty, but goddamn was it irritating.

Is the Post-Human difficulty only available on the PC? I've beaten the game on Super Soldier on the 360, but I don't see any further difficulty options.

It's the same difficulty but it has a different name for some reason on consoles.

If I'm outputting above 720p does it hurt performance on 360? Like I have my resolution set to 1440x900 because I'm playing on that monitor, but does the upscaling cause any performance issues?

Shouldn't cause any.

It shouldn't. IIRC, the scaling is done by a chip on the motherboard (HANA). (at least that's what Microsoft says)

Finished SP - overall a fun experience though the AI is horrible and the last few levels are actually kind of boring. I really felt that the cinematic moments were lacking and some of the transition points were very slow to trigger resulting in a lot of just standing around waiting for things to move forward. The story is pretty sloppy but better than many other recent FPS entries I suppose. Gunplay was solid and the mini "sandbox" is a nice change (for consoles) though I miss the more open experience of Crysis.

MP - fuck what a joke this is. Here we are 5+ years into the generation and high profile developers still can't write decent net code? I suppose the maps are o.k. and the suit powers seem like a nice enough twist on the COD formula, but lag and hit detection are among the worst I have seen (discounting Socom 4 as it is in Beta) - 360 version here. I don't think I have stuck around for more than a few full matches because often times I can not kill someone regardless of how much I shoot them. Then the killcam shows them not even hitting me but still getting the kill. Real poor showing, Crytek.

This year has been a real let down for high profile FPS games and it doesn't seem like anyone out there has what it takes to make a good MP experience. I'll trade this in and wait for a large price drop for the PC version.

I think I'm in the final level (in the park) and it's getting better and better. Now that really needs strategizing to kill everybody (or just stealthing through).

So am I the only one that enjoyed the Crysis 1 final encounter stuff more than Crysis 2?
I mean the Final area was pretty cool but fighting on the cruiser was more fun for me than the whole of the final act. It just felt more urgent and cool on the cruiser, at night, with explosions and alien beams and a big ass ship you have to nuke than
punching tentacle things to open a patch to a big spire where you fight a few 'harder' enemies.
