The problem is a lot of those are not real exclusives... That list is only compelling if you you don't have a PC. And you don't need a very powerful PC to run those with the exception of Alan Wake and maybe Dust. Microsoft really needs to offer more true exclusives if they want my money. Because as it stands, I don't need an Xbox to play most of what they offer. And in the case of Minecraft, the 360 version is actually VERY limited and scaled back compared to the PC version.
And if they lock down those games so they don't come to the PC, the result is more complaining about how Microsoft doesn't care about PC gaming and they're ruining PC gaming, etc...
It's a no win situation there

Even if they are also on PC, they contribute in a big way to 360's success. Trials is well over a million sold, and Minecraft over 5 million. Sony would kill for downloadables that did those kinds of numbers.
Yet still sold 5 million copies and makes truckloads more with DLC.

I find all too often on here, posters change the goal posts too often.
Fact is, PC gaming isn't really a factor in how the console sales matter.
The fact that Mark of the Ninja is on Steam is irrelevant. In the console world, its exclusive to Xbox and its better than 95% of the retail games out there on any platform.
Its published by Microsoft, so selling it on PC simply means more money for Microsoft anyway.

Would they be able to bring Pc gamers to the console anyway? At this point of the generation consoles are outdated compared to Pc and I doubt that a pc gamer that haven't bought a 360 through all these years will bother to buy one now (or even a Ps3 for that matter).
And still, timed exclusives still benefit the platform, because: It's more games to your system. Even being a timed exclusive they can get enough hype to get the game to be a success. And more importantly: Timed exclusives, specially on xbla, can be "acquired" for free just in exchange of being one of the spotlight titles of the service. If they had to pay to get full time exclusivity they would probably be more picky about which games to put on the service and they wouldn't just release as many.

I suggest people stop assuming all these rumors and just shut up till msoft announces their official specs the start of this generation everyone said xbox was doomed now they're the leader everyone is saying it again I don't see why the Sony fan boys want msoft to fail if sony doesn't have a equal competitor in the market they could shove 600 dollar consoles down your throat like they tried to do before personally sony fans should be proud of how far msoft has come from basically last place to being the leader and forcing sony to drive and innovate its platform everything they announce at their conference is basically xbox live anywhere from msoft 2006 press conference btw which was when sony basically lost this generation because moft had so many games i think a lot of people forget.

The weird thing is it said "the Hybrid Memory Cube Consortium is managed by a group of ten developers" but only 9 logos are showed (including Micron). Why Microsoft "left" the consortium? there is not any announcement yet.
Very doubtful that Durango will be using this, as there seems to be no reason to use ESRAM otherwise.

HMC isn't even at the engineering samples phase yet, let alone mass production, which isn't slated to start until 2014 at the earliest.
So if the next Xbox is using HMC, don't expect to see it until 2015.

Hybrid Memory Cube should now be ready for mass production as of Jan 2013, if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't put it passed them to have some little gadgets and fixes(which they do DME) but the eSRAM utilization wouldn't make sense within that memory framework. Might just not be advanced enough in its stages to be put into a box.

No i just hate that everyone wants the american console to go out. The Japanese support their system i just choose to do the same nothing against the other companies as i have all their systems too i just like what msoft has done with xbox and im interested to see what they are up to and how they will change live and social gaming im no fan boy im just a guy who loves games and i love the american company succeeding in it as well.

So what would the thinking even be? Since the memory wasn't available they use a memory type that is for the dev units (the leaked specs) and then swap in the new stuff for the final machines? How plausible is that?

They're all available right now and months/years before some landed on the PC. I think that's an incentive, although by the time they hit PC it's usually at a lower price.

People need to get over the RAM. Microsoft have exclusive games coming from the makers of CryEngine and Unreal Engine - the system won't be insufficient.
Exactly. Let us say Durango would ship with this then it would have 160 GB/sec of bandwidth which is only 16 less than what the PS4 is shipping with. The ESRAM would be a huge waste of silicon that could be used to beef up the rumored GPU.

RAM is the new Cell. It's something to point to in order to prove one thing is somehow better than another. The only way it goes away is if Microsoft announces something better. Then RAM won't matter so much anymore. That would be nice. Then maybe it could come down to games, controllers, features. Shit that actually means something.
A lot of good that will do a console that's supposedly releasing 3-5 months prior to the RAM even becoming producible.
