Now I know who The Flash's artist reminds me of and why I love it.

It favors Peter Chung's Aeon Flux!

And man the pace and scale of Action feels like the pre-52 heyday of Death/Return of Superman and the Shield numbers. Finally!

Why does he wear the mask!?
Dunno if it's just my iPad, but I liked the art in the Flash

Also, the story was decent. Who is that August guy though? He wasn't in the previous run? Guessing
he becomes Godspeed?

So far im getting the feeling Wonder Woman needs to be read in trade format instead of monthly. It just seems like it hasnt gone anywhere yet after two issues and im getting impatient lol. Plus I dont give one shit about the companion story, and that felt like the majority of the book since there wasnt much dialogue or narration in the WW scenes.

I think it will get worse, since they will intercalate this storyline with the Year One.

Its pretty much going to be 2 separate monthly books (one past , one present) but both sold as Wonder Woman. Seems awkward but it'd be equally awkward to draw even more attention to the fact she gets half as many books as the other two (male) Trinity members by giving her two monthlies.

Dead

well not really...yet
I thought it was cute that the picture of Diana that Steve had was drawn by Nicola Scott, clearly linking to her upcoming Year One arc.

Detective was pretty neat. I was more impressed that Eddy Barrows is actually really solid in this, he was originally a shit when he started out at DC. Nice to see him come into his own as part of DCs artist roster.

Yes, but having the same numbering for two different storylines, odd numbers for the one set in the present and even numbers for the set in the past will be uber confusing for the general audience.

I'm new to Wonder Woman. I love the art and design on the Amazon island.

However, why are they shoving a modern military story in between? I'm so confused. If the next issue detaches more from the modern military aspect, I'll stick with it.

I also read Action Comics tonight and enjoyed the nostalgia with Superman and Doomsday. I love how everyone in metropolis is as lost as I am with all these Supermen.

Any read the new Justice League (#52)? How is it? Didn't really care for the last issue's writing, but usually dig me some Lex Luthor and looks like he's the focus this issue.

It was not Amazon Island, Diana seens to have forgot where it is. The story was set in Africa, where she is looking for the help from Cheetah. There is a second plot to reintroduce Steve, where he is fighting a local army.

Ah thanks for explaining. I really was lost as to what was going on. I appreciate it.

Rebirth Rankings of the week!

Aquaman>Detective>WW>Action>Flash

Really bummed by Flash, I've been excited for this book since the announcement of the first story arc, but it's two issues now that have mostly felt like rehash with a little stinger at the end. This really needs to pick up in the next issue or two. I really liked the art though, call me crazy.

Action felt like it moved really fast but it also felt like a lot of rehash with little happening.

Aquaman was just great. It sucks that we're still on this whole coexist story line but Black Manta really came off as a threat in this issue and it got into the story fast.

Detective was a really close second. I still love the dynamic and the team, I'm just not in love with the premise of the story yet. Hopefully it ends up being a surprise though.

WW was just ok?

Really pleased with Rebirth so far. DC comics are much better line wide than they had when starting Nu52.

Aquaman - liked the writing, the art is hit or miss for me. Backgrounds look great, but I don't like the look of the characters.

Detective - I quite liked this week's Tec. The writing and art both clicked for me, and I love the focus on training.

WW - this was much better than the Rebirth issue as there was some actual movement this issue. The art is gorgeous, particularly the nature backgrounds.

Action - I thought this issue was OK, not great.

Flash - this was also OK, but not great. I didn't hate the art, but it's not my preferred style. I haven't read much Flash since I started watching the show, but it's weird how the narration when I read it sounds like Grant Gustin speaking.

By 'works' you mean it is going to be utterly devastating and heartbreaking when Post-Crisis Superman's suspicions and aspersions inevitably push him solidly back to the dark side?

Maybe!

Finally finished my Rebirth books. I'd rank 'em Detective>WW>Flash>Action>Aquaman.

Do not get the Aquaman praise, tbh. It's a decent title, but not really telling anything that I'm feeling compelled to buy every two weeks, and art is just decent. There's a pretty big gap between it and Action, which was solid. A little bit of awkward writing, but I'm looking forward to the Mr. Oz mystery starting to coalesce.

Flash had decent emotional hooks, some interesting character writing (I like how they're handling Wally), and a great setup for the rest of this arc. Also don't understand the complaints about the art. It's cartoony, and the ink work is a little overly sketchy looking (probably in an effort to make it more kinetic), but overall it's quite good.

WW did a really excellent job telling its story, with building tension and great visuals. I love the panel with Steve looking at what looks like Diana's mug shot; can't wait for the Year One issues to start hitting, that's gonna be a great story. I think part of the reason people are turned off by what we've seen so far is that Diana's monologues are a liiiiiiiittle stilted, but that'll probably not be a problem after this.

Detective was all around excellent. Cass and Tim were cute together, and I like Basil's parts a lot. Team Batman vs. the Bat Army, let's do this.

Really loving Rebirth

Wonder Woman & Aquaman were both great after their Rebirth issues were a bit crap

Very very happy, yet to dislike anything

I love that Wonder Woman #1 completely ignores everything that was happening with Etta last time we saw her. And made her plus size again.

Etta and Waller should never be thin. Especially Etta, she's been a proud big girl for pretty much ever. The version of her in Legend of Wonder Woman was amazing.

Same, I was surprised by how much I liked it. I usually don't enjoy TT.

I don't typically like the Teen Titans either, but thought the first issue showed promise, although the art was not very good.

What I'd like to see from it is more camaraderie and team interactions along with action. Young Justice, the animated show, I think nailed the perfect balance for that and should be a model of how to handle young teams with friendships.

See, I always think of TT as one of DC's premier books since I still associate it with the Wolfman & Perez years but that was a long time ago now.

I've never read that run, but it's one I've thought about tracking down for quite some time as it's obviously an important one. Does it hold up well?

I last read through it maybe five years ago and it was as fantastic as ever.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot.

That's fantastic, let's just hope these kind of sales can hold up!

It's a positive sign. They didn't have that type of bump with DC You. They did with Nu52, but that was fairly short-lived. I suspect that if they can maintain high quality (which they've done so far in my opinion) then that should help reduce the inevitable large drops from issue #1 to #2.

I know people really like the OG Titans lineup, butI can't bring myself to care about any of them other that Wally, Donna, and Dick and maybe Roy. I hate that the New Teen Titans lineup doesn't exist anymore.

The 12 issue Starfire run, which ended a few months ago, has made me a fan of the character for the first time. That's actually what makes me interested in going back to New Teen Titans.

Just heard the bummer that Auto Schmidt isn't going to be on Green Arrow here soon and Juan Ferrara is taking over the book. Not sure on the other guy's art but Auto's art has been one of the best parts about the book.

Juan's art is amazing. Is Otto off permanently, or are they just taking turns?
