Guys, it's pretty simple, Bungie kills whatever is the physical bonus of the CE. First dinklebot, now strange coins.

Imagine if Destiny 2's CE has a Rahool statue.

You know you're right. I get so wrapped up in how novel it is to use I forget it's legitimately an endgame DPS monster. That first wizard was almost at full health and I obliterated her. Oops.

I really, really don't miss vanguard/crucible commendations. I doubt strange coins are leaving, but if they are... whatever lol

It does have super situational use, but when you get to it's basically equates to walking up to a guy, shooting him in the face with ghorn and not dying lol. It's probably my favorite exotic, so fun to use.
 
I had time today as I am sick so I can't really be around the baby which gave me time to delve a bit back into Destiny. I needed to complete the Year 1 triumphs and discovered I only needed 10 more golden chests. Even with help from videos, I thought I'd be running around all night. I'd like to thank my brain as I remembered most of the ones I got just watching the vids. Glad to say I got that out of the way.

Also, I appreciate you getting my emblem up so quickly, Nami.

Yup, they're taking away the only non-RNG way to get exotics. I really hope they add in a new weekly type event that lets people earn coins, otherwise new players are gonna be salty.

Your post reminded me to preorder TTK on the marketplace. I was prompted to download it after checkout, maybe check your downloads. Or, go back to the TTK page - you might have to select it to download. (I jammed X to blow through the menus so I'm not sure.)

They're actually doing the opposite and consolidating, marks and armor mats.
 
The death penalty of being kicked to orbit often leads to players feeling forced to play too safe, rather than running through the world as a monster killing machine.

Another thing we didn't like about the Year 1 Nightfall was how players could feel forced to play Nightfall as early as possible in the week to maximize the benefit from the Nightfall buff. So, we've shelved that buff until we can reform it into something closer to its original intent - a mark of prestige for having achieved something challenging. We've adjusted sources of XP and Reputation up to account for its absence.
Now Requires Level 40
Wiping no longer returns Fireteams to Orbit
Now uses 30 second time-out penalty for Death (same as Raid Normal)

Thanks for the kind words and congrats on the great run! Could not have been smoother. Whenever I start feeling burned out on Skolas runs, I do another run and have so much fun playing with the people that I remember why I keep doing them.

Lol strange coins aren't going away. They're including 1 with the CE after all.

It's like motes of light. Those are static currency mostly earned randomly. Motes are less random, of course.

They're not and I don't know why people were aiming they would go away. It's almost like the freak out when ppl made assumptions about mats no longer being sold.
 
I have the feeling that getting 27 coins on a given lockout period is going to take longer than doing 3 weekly heroics as is now. Shutting down a faucet but still having a sink (Xur) only benefits players who stock piled coins for months, and punishes players who didn't while drop rate was more generous (either new players or more casual ones).
 
A new currency or resetting everyone's coins is a mere temporary fix. The hardcore players will have a huge stash again in no time since xur only sells new things once in a blue moon. Taking muh coins will just upset the highly volatile fanbase.

Sorry my mic was being so weird. I was trying to be quiet since my girlfriend was asleep but I think it has to do with me channeling all my sound into that little mono mic. It's horrible.
