Bah. The animations are disappointing. Granted, I am stickler for this stuff and HR was fun enough that I completely forgot about it, but it's a shame to see that nary a stride has been made in that department.

Goddamnit, devs. When will you realise that awesome animation makes your game look more next gen than photorealistic textures? I guess it's a lot harder to implement.

Hey we don't know. She could be in there.

Devs didn't rule it out in a previous interview did they? Or did they go with the not saving path?

Man I have to agree with you. The stiff animations really holds the game's visual presentation back.

If she isnt in the main game they got a perfect DLC expansion: Fly Girl Chronicles. Fuck some worthless comic garbage (if it turns out shes dead). Ignore and add her back in.

If you're talking about Black Light, it's a book (not a comic) written by James Swallow who is one of the writers of the games. It's about as canon as it gets.

My main problem with the visuals are the jaggies. Someone here said it looked clean and, well, I wish it looked clean (mainly on the environment and objects). Don't care as much about the animations or lipsync stuff. I'm actually pleased with the lip movement, WAY better then in HR from what I've seen. It actually feels out of character for Jensen's mouth to move as much as it does.

What jaggies?

I'll be running this at 4K with 8X MSAA and TAA on top for good measure. :)

Jaggies won't be a problem when we all move to 1440p monitors.

Error

Jealous of the Glory that is Johnny Depp
anxiously waiting to see how this runs with a gtx 960 and an i5 6600k cpu. they are recommending 16GB of ram and I have only 8GB, wonder how much of a bottleneck that's going to be.

IIRC a while ago the devs confirmed that Adam gets more weapon mods and additional augmentation choices with DX12.

Why you trolling brah? It was a simple question.

Huh, that's definitely interesting.

I'll take the bait.
How much did MS have to pay for that exclusivity?

Tales from his ass. There's no game play differences. Only thing we can expect DX12 will add is Async Compute support and some better CPU scaling. I don't even think the devs mentioned any additional graphical enhancements or features.

Basically, if you are excited about the game, no use waiting for the patch. Enjoy it in DX11.

PC Newb Question:
In what ways would one expect DirectX 12 to improve this game versus DirectX 11...?

Is it worth waiting two weeks for DirectX 12...? (this is an admittedly subjective question)

Thanks.

Based on other 2016 games so far, the gains probably won't be big enough to justify waiting for two weeks and you likely won't find much better deals on the game by then compared to now.

Got a copy from my local game shop. Would have waited for release date but since the semester starts next week and I got a day off from work tomorrow I say fuck it!

Someone with the game please answer: how are the ceilings??

Human Rev=best video game ceilings of all time

Who cares about ceilings, DX is all about toilet cubicles!

Really not trying to come off as a rude but... is anyone else not impressed by the overall quality in these shots? Feel like I'm looking at a PS3 game. I haven't seen any PS4 videos and images besides this so it might be a bit of a bias. If not, even more glad I'm getting the PC version now.

Why not compare it to an actual PS3 game worth comparing...i.e. Human Revolution. There's no point comparing a closed off game like Beyond or Uncharted to an open ended game like Deus Ex when you had a Deus Ex game on PS3 itself. Compared to that this is a massive upgrade.

And indoors in this game look great even by today's standards, plus the lighting looks great.

What's the big fear behind Win10? I have it installed and it works well for me. I've never understood why people are so hesitant to install it.

I had many issues when I installed W10, I had to update many drivers, look up solutions on the web ... It wasted a lot of my time.

Mine was a new build, so that's probably why I didn't deal with many issues. I didn't realize there were so many upgrade problems.

Plus the more people install it, the more people put themselves willingly into Microsoft's new attempt at a walled-garden. There is just too much fishy about being unable to prevent updates (some of which have uninstalled programs without users' input), the restrictions in publishing options available to UWP programs, the disingenuous way in which they installed W10 without consent from many people, that the OS now sends data collected from the user to advertisers, etc.

I will be installing it eventually, as it will be inevitable at some point, but I'm hoping that by abstaining I am in some small way making Microsoft realize there are people who don't approve of W10, and that they need to shape the OS into a more appealing option for us to upgrade. Obviously this is less likely to influence MS as complaining users who are already on W10 clearly have more weight, but still.

I also can't stand how the OS tries to take control away in so many ways, like how the control panel itself is practically hidden from the user, with the system trying to promote its more nebulous "settings" window. Sure, the control panel and all of it's Windows 7 options can still be found hidden somewhere after enough inconvenient and time wasting searching through the OS, but whose to say they won't excise the feature in a future update that can't be stopped? Plus, why the hell are there so few color options, it's not just simplified, I recall it actually missing broad ranges of the color spectrum!

😤

That's probably enough Windows 10 ranting, just my perspective on why some people (like me) dislike Windows 10 and want to avoid using it for as long as possible. There is more I could say but I think I've said my peace on the matter for now. I mean no offense to those whonlike Windows 10 by the way (except Microsoft itself).

I didn't have any problems with W10 so far, even games who run notoriously bad like No Man's Sky worked well
