No PS4 will get FES version like P3
Best to hope that a PS4-exclusive CS III goes well for them, then. It's what I wanted rather than letting the game be hindered by the Vita's limitations as CS II was (even if Falcom are far from bleeding edge in respect to tech), yet even I was still surprised that they actually did away with a portable version after the Vita versions sold better in Japan in spite of being technically inferior to the PS3 ones.It really isn't though. Falcom doesn't buy dev kits for platforms they don't intend to give their full support to. The only way that will happen is if another publisher is interested in making it happen. Like how Ys VIII is coming to PC or how the Crossbell duology ended up on Vita.
Some people give off almost an offended tone about the whole idea. Like despite Nocturne being almost 15 years old the new Shin Megami Tensei game only announced for Switch at the moment will get a PS4 port. This is just common sense. Games on more platforms makes sense both for publishers and gamers.

I'm well aware of their policy regarding leaving PC ports to other companies they work with at this point, yet not humoring Switch is news to me.
No? The thought here is the traditional portable rerelease. I don't think launching P4 on PS2 was definitive it wouldn't hit Vita. Was it?"HD project" implies that it's not Switch exclusive though. Launching P5 on PS3 and PS4 is pretty definitive.
The other issue with Falcom is that they're very picky about not letting the companies they work with touch their games until they're finished and released in the Japanese market, leading to even longer turnarounds for the games that companies like XSeed localize than is already the case. It's not just about PC ports, it's about anything they don't have any intention of making. They're happy to license their brands and software out to other companies but focus on particular platforms when it comes to development. Other examples include Gurumin 3D and Ys Origin PS4/Vita. They never were going to develop games for 3DS despite being interested in getting their brands on the platform, but Mastiff was the only one who seem to be interested.
That rule exists to avoid derailing threads with baseless hopes and dreams. Considering this is what the thread is all about, there's little it could distract from. Now whether or not it's worth discussing is another matter.Port begging is a bannable offence I hope you realize that...
Here we go....this thread will go splendidly well.
Why is the Switch suddenly the "perfect" way to play everything? Completely subjective. Big hyperbole.
Thought Port Begging threads were a no no?

I never required portability to get into the franchise. I also don't consider P4G performing much better early in the life of a new portable than the original did at the end of the life of a previous console particularly remarkable, either.
And by your logic, this wouldn't come to Nintendo platforms because Persona's fanbase is also concentrated on PlayStation.
I'm answering based on Atlus' past habits in respect to their development priorities for both Sony and Nintendo platforms, not concerning myself with the hypothetical performance of a system that's only a month old. I have no reason to view things differently simply because some are desperate to see it ported.
P3P and P4: Golden says otherwise
Who is actually "desperate" about it, lol.

I do not think it will. It's possible if Nintendo really turns things around, both with install base and third party support, but the latter seems fairly unlikely at the moment.
What nonsense. I'll take a version that isn't on a hand-cramping portable with a tiny screen any day. I'd pay full price for a console port of both those games and never touch the PSP/Vita ones again.
I mean there's already a "no port begging" rule for the system in its first month. "Desperate" is definitely one word for it.

I'm well aware of Falcom being much smaller than Atlus. Either way, the circumstances behind working with them are less than ideal. Given the fact that we've already established that Falcom often leave porting work to other companies that they work with, it also wouldn't necessarily mean that they would be responsible for bringing things to Switch themselves. I remain unconvinced that Atlus will make mainline Persona on Switch a priority by comparison. It's not about Falcom being picky as much as their size, there's no need to spend money on more dev kits than they need and they'll happily take licensing money where they can get it. When it comes to development the risk is on them so they don't allow other factors like licensing for localization come into play until after. Licensing is an additional revenue stream for them. Atlus is actually a bigger by company by comparison, so they can handle ports in house. That's why P5 is actually slightly more likely than Falcom developing for Switch.
Pretty sure I didn't make any comments regarding the quality of P4G.Persona 4 Golden was the best version of that game, you are in the minority
Person Q came out on the 3DS and sold well, so by my logic, Persona 5 have way bigger chance coming to Switch than Trails games.
