More importantly, why didn't the Doctor go pick her up normally, why did have to ride the bike inside, why can she close the Tardis door with a finger snap and when will she stop being so useless?

I mean seriously Clara, don't wait for the Doctor to ask you what's wrong when he's about to blow up his planet. Feel free to interrupt him with something other than a sad face and half a tear.

Plus the thing with the UNIT helicopter (what were they even trying to achieve originally, leaving the Doctor stranded?) and the Doctor hanging on the TARDIS the entire way for no reason. That whole intro is nonsensical, a lot of "this makes no sense but it will look so cool! And in 3D!". Thankfully what follows after they get to the museum is much better, but that sequence had me worried when the special started, lol.

I think you're thinking of the She Said, He Said Prequel. She says something to the effect of, "The trick to traveling with the Doctor is to not fall in love. I do that trick a lot, sometimes twice a day."

But yeah, my wife and were talking about the last scene where she leaves him alone in the gallery to meet the Curator. There's something oddly intimate about that last scene. My wife chimed in as being similar to how she would talk to me.

Yeah, that's another scene I was thinking of. She's love with him, but trying not to fall IN love.\

Interesting that that bit is only in a commercial and not in an episode since it seems like an important character trait or story addition.

That's a surprisingly accurate looking Hurt considering I doubt they got him in to do the face capture stuff.

Looking at the CGI for all 12 Doctors in that final Gallifrey scene, I'd say that was a wise decision.

And IIRC, wasn't there a line near the end of the 50th where he says something along the lines of "I'm the Doctor again"? I think a big point of the 50th was his redemption in both his own and his future regeneration's eyes. By the end he WAS The Doctor again, and not "the one who broke the promise" and lost the right to that name.

Mmm, was it so hard for the SFX guys to do this? We already know Moffat had to cut the extended version because it seems it looked like shit (had to, if they chose to leave the wax doctors shot).
You know that Dalek that they are giving Peter Jackson for directing an episode? I think it would be a neat idea to ask him if he could lend for a second WETA to make Hurt to Eccleston and the wax doctors scene, Im sure he could have done it for free also.
