There's something that feels "right" about modern Who drama building on the 50 years of series legacy.

There was a time in the RTD revival when it seemed like they went out of their way to pretend that old Who wasn't relevant, and I found that vaguely frustrating since the regeneration/longevity of this show is a great part of the appeal at this point.

I heard Paul McGann, it was an echo after Matt Smith said "Running for all of our lives" it was the very last echo.


EDIT: I also heard Colin Baker or Tom Baker saying "900 hundred years" as an echo

I think Hurt's Doctor will be a older weathered version of McGann's. This is the look McGann wears for all the promo stuff now for the audio Who.

Yeah, I'm starting to think that Hurt might just be a super-old 8th Doctor. I just think Paul McGann himself isn't going to star at all.

They knocked that one right out of the park.

Been a bit frustrated with the level of Who activity, could have had more... other stuff throughout the year, less hyping of hashtags and idents that turned out to be stings, but the promotional run from here til the episode I've got confidence in again.

I didn't say I liked the sound of it. :lol Not only would it be stupid, it'd also be unbelievably offensive to McGann and his fans. I'm still on "Team He's 8.5", but whatever. It's a possibility.

Speaking of potentially offensive, I imagine there's someone out there unimaginably pissed about Sarah Jane turning into Clara.

McGann being alive and well and usable for the part would just be one problem.

Clara said she saw all 11 faces of the Doctor. The Doctor then said that Hurt doesn't count. If Hurt is an old 8, Clara couldn't have seen him, which means that there would have to be a second secret Doctor somewhere. Hurt being an old 8 would be stupid both in the show and out of the show.

17162311, the time and date it first aired (5:16pm, November 23rd.)

McGann shoved off into a corner. Least you could see him. We get Colin Baker's back, and I assume McCoy was in that mess of 80's and 90's doctors somewhere, but I didn't see him.

Mccoy is on the left, diving/falling over. You can't really see his face.

Great trailer. I think it's good enough to keep me going until the episode.

So many little things to pick out. No Amy and Rory reference(s) as far as I can tell, though.

Jenna-Louise Coleman looking stunning as usual.

And that music. Damn. I'm hoping we get a special intro with that same composition for the special.

I don't get why the Laser Screwdriver and the Sonic Pen are in the trailer, Looks like who ever is in front of the doctor has a gun.

I'm hoping this is just a short version of perhaps an even longer version that covers each Doctor equally, but realistically, this is probably it.

That being said, if they do indeed have a longer version, great, but I'm happy with this version.

Ridiculous, sometimes there's no pleasing anyone.

Also People on GB suggesting when Matt says years, sounds like Mcgann echoed him? and that they could show the trailer again with surviving Doctor's doing the voice over? That would explain Mcgann's tweet. (clutching at straws here)
