No Jenna-Louise Coleman?Would have loved to see some back and forth between her and Karen.
Carey Mulligan was the girl in it, before she was famous.
Before? I don't think so. She was pretty famous before Blink.
A few roles many people did not know. Her breakout role was in "An Education," which did not come out until almost 2 years after Blink.
Looks like she had had a minor role in Pride and Prejudice followed by a several BBC series. I'm American so I don't know how popular these series were, but I don't think they were internationally popular. An Education was popular in most major film markets, including both the US and the UK. It was definitely her international breakthrough. Before? I don't think so. She was pretty famous before Blink.
Yeah, that's why I asked where PhoncipleBone is from. She was stellar in The Amazing Mrs Pritchard, which was an amazing series in its own right. That was the title that made me aware of her ability. I then went back and found Pride and Prejudice again, but she wasn't a standout there.
Exactly, so it sounds like she was a UK star before An Education (which I honestly never knew, interesting) but An Education still counts as her breakthrough, I think, because of the international exposure.
The BBC have announced on Twitter that Dame Diana Rigg is to appear in Doctor Who alongside daughter Rachel Stirling; lead writer Steven Moffat said:
Dame Diana Rigg, Rachael Stirling and a Mark Gatiss script - a combination of talents you could only get in Doctor Who! Frankly, I'm terrified already!
The script commences filming this week, with the pair "playing a mother and daughter with a dark secret". The story is set in Yorkshire, with filming kicking off today at Roath Lock Studios and Bute Town in Rhymney, which stands in for a village in the county.

He wears a bowler hat now. Bowler hats are cool.
I'm not from the UK. I'm from New Zealand. Many countries get UK series that don't go to the US. By international I think you mean North American![]()
I'm sure you would.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg2u_De8j5oPony thread needs your help.
Nah, see, like I said that defense isn't valid here. An Education was her breakthrough here and in a lot of other countries. It was her most visible work to date. Someone from the UK in this thread even said they'd never seen her until Who. She was not famous until An Education.
I don't feel defensive. I just don't think your 'international' remark holds water
I think The Amazing Mrs Pritchard was a 'grown-up' show. It was out ages ago and people under a certain age just didn't seem to watch it. Odds are younger people didn't know about her until later on, but a huge number of people internationally did, because she was incredible in a TV show certain markets embraced.
You guys are just arguing past each other about different ideas of 'international'.

Best. Teacher. Ever.Okay guys, I need help.
I am a Primary School teacher. In September I'm working in Year 2 (6-7 year olds) and the first two weeks of term I get to choose a topic for us to study. I've decided on Sci-fi (to help with the creative, descriptive writing aspect) and I'm going to base it around Doctor Who and us travelling in the TARDIS to different planets and times.
I really, really, really, need a custom version of the Series 6 Doctor Who opening title sequence with my name and my teaching assistants name in place of Matt and Karen/Arthur's names. I'm going all out with this, sonic screwdriver, costume, fez the lot.
Anyone who could do this or point me in the direction of someone who can do it, please help. I'm willing to pay a bit of money just for a bit of video editing.
Please!

Also is it just me or is the season 7 trailer hugely disappointing. I've no great love for Moffat's hard on for all things America.
He hasn't got a hard-on for America. Also is it just me or is the season 7 trailer hugely disappointing. I've no great love for Moffat's hard on for all things America.
Season 7 trailer? Where??
He hasn't got a hard-on for America.
He has, however, got a hard-on for BBC America's filming contribution that comes from filming in the States.

This is going to be kind of hard to do unless you are okay with splicing the sections without the names out of the intro. Its almost always going to be janky unless someones does the whole time tunnel from scratch.
Yeah. I just need it to look passable really. Anyone here reckon they could give it a go? I'm only midly good with video editing.
I've already made a custom 'Dalek Invasion Speech to Year 2' video on my own by bodging together bits and bobs of videos and using a Dalek voice changer. This will occur after the intro and the first main activity.
The headteacher will come in and say 'Doctor, this arrived for you just now. It is of the utmost importance'. I'll put the USB in the computer and the video will effectively be a warning to the Doctor that the Daleks are going to destroy every planet they come across unless he gives up the TARDIS.
The Doctor (myself) will then urge Year 2 to research these other planets to find ways of stopping the Daleks from destroying it. Etc Etc

I've found this one for you, it's quite good. I might be able to help you with the titles or stuff like that, just pm me.

Leave it out. Never seen such arguing for the sake of it. (As a Brit I can confirm she wasn't at all that famous before Blink)
What's being a Brit got to do with it? Does it make you an authority on exposure of British actors outside your country?
Okay, I'll stop trolling, but the logic fail there is awesome![]()
1: Empty Child/Doctor Dances
2: Girl In The Fireplace
3: Blink
4: Midnight
5: Eleventh Hour
6: Doctors Wife or Christmas Carol
Blink, overall.
