That’s the way to go. It can be hard to focus on the positive in life for sure, so it’s good to take some time and reflect on what silly things we opt into that are negatives and are easy to drop once realized.

I did not drop social media, but I did drop toxic people out of my life there. The amount of stress just is not worth it. Ever see that movie called Changing Lanes? This scene from the film perfectly sums of some of my family members and why I had to drop them once and for all:

I see culture wars as a maturation of the hobby.

Maturity and senility do often go hand in hand.

I dont know if Im just getting older and more curmudgeonly or what, but my tolerance for dumb shit is taking a nose dive.

There might have been a time where if this was fun to play I could have turned my brain off and just enjoyed it... but this shit irks me to no end now.

That dialogue, my god. That is garbage. Thats beyond opinion, thats pure fact. It might be open for opinion how much it bothers you specifically or detracts from the over all experience, but that is poor writing.

I cant believe professional writers put that together. And then their bosses approved it.

This remind me of Kenobi and little 8 year old Leia leading a team of hardened mercs on a footchase through the woods with them tripping over themselves like its goddamn live action Scoobie Doo. All we needed was some "BONKS" and "ZWING!" sound effects. Maybe a clown horn here and there.

Ughhhhh crap shit and poop all around.

I fear for Mass Effect. Theyre going to find some way to inject this shit, I dont care what the game director said recently.

Combo of both. You are an experienced gamer that is looking for a great experience or apex. Not going to get that when mass market dev will just cater to 20 and below with limited experience. This is the flaw of reviewers aka they need to tell who the audience the product is for.

Would you rather go back to the days of eating Doritos, drinking mountain dew, and seal clapping for all of the slop big corpos shit out?

Jack Nicholson Yes GIF

I mean, remove the word “slop” (as not everyone sees eye to eye on various games so such generalization is meaningless) and also remove the Mountain Dew, I’ll take some crab juice instead (thumbs up to those who get that reference without cheating like a little shit), and that sounds like a paradise compared to the two groups of drama queens seeing who can whine the loudest.

Its not because your curmudgeonly.

It's because we've had much better from company's with much more passion, talent, thought and insight into a narrative.

The whole BS around "if you don't like this then you're *ist" has been the most obvious scapegoat for the talentless.
These "professional" writers aren't professional in the slightest. They've just been told they were good by folk who were in their circle. That and nepotism.

You were probably just raised in a time where writers had something interesting to wright about. Where they could actually venture out of what they know and look into something and be creative with it

We can only hope that the massive backlash over this trash will send a message to them to not even try it with ME5.

Morts GOTY so far, and an instant buy: I trust Mortisimal 100%, then my other 100% trust reviewer, Shillup, did the opposite, detroyed it......I don't know whether to go live with mommy or daddy Ralph now.

Hahaha I noticed the same thing, I really like both those guys too.

I noticed Skillup seemed to focus more on the quality of the writing and character interactions which he said were pretty weak. Unless I missed it I dont think Mort harped on that area that much, so maybe its just not as big of a deal to him.

But they were polar opposites on the combat directly. Skillup was like "Combat sucked ass so bad I almost fell asleep and turned it on easy just to get it over with.". Mort was like "Combat was GOTY quality I played through it on every character class."

Personal preference wise Im feeling Skillup more, but was surprised those two were polar opposites.

Chud is the new Nazi. It’s a derogatory term used to dismiss wrongthink from right leaning folks.
Thank you for the response. I understand now somewhat. However, do you by any chance know where the term derives from? Just trying to figure out where the demeaning/derogatory nature of it comes from since it is a new thing that I am seeing being thrown around.

It's worth noting that Papa Morty is getting raked over the coals for his review, so much so that he had to pin a comment declairing that he is NOT a paid shill. The FTC could come after him if he was lying about that. The FTC! This is no laughing matter. Trust me.

Couldn't say. It's a term I see ultra liberals use on Twitter.

Someone here said there is a "own the Chuds" containment thread on REEsetEra where people bitch about Grumms all day. Those are the types of people who use that term unironically.

I was subscribed to Mortismal since he was only a few hundred or a thousand sub channel. I got way more value out of SkillUp's video. His went into things Mort's didn't even touch on and gave clear, concise examples of what he liked and didn't like. I don't even remember Mortismal going into anything even remotely detailed regarding dialogue.

What does The Veilguard do? It is a polished and competent BioWare action-RPG that follows a safe, conventional pattern. The old BioWare magic has been codified and sanitised, and now feels dated—even more so than BioWare's actually pretty old RPGs. It is as broad, predictable and inoffensive as a crowd-pleasing Marvel movie, all flashy, clean and easy to digest; so it has the power to be entertaining, but never in a way that will stick with you. There are no big swings, no risks, no shocks, and while I have enjoyed some of it, for most of my fourth trip across Thedas I've been left pretty bored.

That's what I like about Skillup, he explains his position really well. I definitely don't always agree with his position, he's Not Recommended some games I really liked and Strongly Recommended games I thought were mid at best. Hoping this is one of those times we disagree overall.

Curious about the Pro patch.
I'm not. Because - I could afford a Pro, even though the asking price of 800€ is atrocious. I can't recall the last time I used the Blu-Ray drive, so while it is a matter of principle (I never watch DVDs/Blu-Rays, but I like to maintain that possibility as I don't have any other options), I'm in no hurry to get it.

But as long as Sony keeps charging me for a vertical stand, fuck them. Yeah sure, aftermarket alternatives will be much cheaper. Still, fuck them. Such an idiotic call, whoever did that at Sony should be fired. Out of a cannon, without a landing net.

I can't believe I'm defending Alex, of sorts, but - he only does technical reviews. And by all accounts, this is a very good PC port.

Despite heavily criticizing the game, Skill Up said the same thing. He singled out its performance on PC as one of its clear positives.

A couple weeks ago I thought it would be a hoot to check out Resetera and the first thread I clicked on was filled with people using the word "chud" lol ...first I had ever seen it

I recall being a child in the 80's and watching a movie called CHUDS, which was about zombies or mutants that lived in the sewer and would come out and eat people, something to that effect if I recall correctly.

I am not familiar with anyone using that term in real life whether they are left or right. I have only heard that term used on Resetera.

Yeah, these enemies are the same as in FF16

Little variety
HP sponges
I blame break mechanics for that. They make fights last too long in games that incorporate it. I love final fantasy 13 ff7 remakes and ff16, but battles like that last too long and get old.

Lot of people on gamefaqs have been using it on the system boards. Especially on Boards for Sony consoles.
