Dig site help Hadid

I need to get to the dig site and I cannot recall where it is. Anyone know the nearest Zoom point please?

L'Arca.

The next time you need to remember where something is and there's no fast travel point to it look at the tablets.

Ellie is her older sister. Ellie was also the former princess before she died

There's a conversation you can overhear between the princess and Autonymus that explains this near the end of the events but I think it's optional. Not sure if you got that

I did overhear that conversation, but they said nothing about the spoiler in your post. o.o

Ah.

I haven't actually played the translation, but the princess refers to Ellie as Ellie neesama in the Japanese version. I guess they cut that detail out in the localization?

Because there's a level cap for job progression in each area and two of them are over it. The best place to grind after you got them was the first tablet dungeon but the level cap for that area is 20 so you can't use that one. I'd recommend the drake slime tablet dungeon for your current level.
Wow okay, thank you. What's the slime tablet dungeon? Any idea what town it's near? It doesn't ring a bell

I think it got cut. >.>

If someone can confirm, that would be nice. (before the drama starts)

EDIT: I just checked the Story So Far and it says:
"his beloved automaton is named after the princess's sister."
I guess they removed from the dialogue but kept it in the recap.

I feel like the stuff before finally reaching Alltrades Abbey is dragging on. I especially hate how you're limited to physical attacks now that your spells and abilities are gone, which makes enemies a bit more difficult.

How do you enter the
alter at the bottom of the water near the poolside caves?
There's nothing to interact with on top and no doors.

Got it, thanks Kinsei. Stupid Elder shoulda moved out of the way ;)

Got to the Haven tonight, unlocked the download bar and got all of the available DLC, whoo.

Also, Regenstein's story
with the statue townsfolk and ending with Felix and the Old man starting a new life
is my favorite vignette so far.

I need some help understanding the tablet system.

I unlocked the download bar and went to download new tablets. I had a few labeled as SQEX and a few from other non-SQEX.

  1. Where do the non-SQEX ones come from?
  2. Can I tell which ones I have already downloaded?
  3. What's the point of "running" tablets?
  4. How do I get my own?
  5. How do I form a monster party to send out? I read about that somewhere but can't find the link.

I know that intermediate and advanced skills aren't permanent, but do you get them back if you switch back to that class, or do you start over?

Just hit level 14 at Roamer's Encampment.
I'm hoping I can get the jobs unlocked without leveling too much more.

If you are worried about levels and mastering jobs, you could grab the shove skill from the Thief class. It ejects an enemy from battle (not always successful and some enemies are immune) without awarding experience. Allowing one to maximize number of battles while minimizing experience gain.

Mastered the Monster Classes Slime, Jawtoise, and Chimaera. I completely forgot that even the basic monster classes take as long to master as the intermediate classes. Back to the grind stone tomorrow.

Ahh, finally got to A
lltrade
A
bbey
about 15 hours into the game.

*several hours later*

Ahh, I can finally change classes!

I might actually consider doing the tablet things now since I need to grind classes anyway, but even though I recruited some monsters I didn't get any more.

Until you fully unlock the Monster Meadows feature, finding the NPC that actually runs it, recruiting wild monsters won't do anything for you (they'll be there once you unlock the feature, but they can't get you tablets yet). That'll happen later on.

Until then, the only tablets you'll get are from the NPCs you send to the Haven and the Downloadable ones.

The tablet dungeons are optional dungeons you unlock by getting people to move to Haven.
I've only been prompted to send one person to Haven thus far, so I guess I need to hit up a FAQ to see where else I can go to recruit people for Haven...

Speaking of which, I just looked up the level caps in each area and it looks like I've kinda screwed myself vocation-wise by being slightly over-leveled. That's kind of crappy. I just got to the
Egypt-feeling
island and its cap is 1 level below what most of my crew is at. Guess the next few hours will be a wash...

Each NPC you send to the Haven gives you a hint to the next one's whereabouts when you talk to them there. Though sometimes the next one isn't actually available until you progress more in the story, even if the area they appear is already open.

There are 15 in total, though you need more residents to fully upgrade the place, which means you'll need to rely on streetpass and the download bar's share feature for that.

Ok I have a question for those further in the game than I.

Does this game feature any towns with an Australian or southern American accent? Just with all these other regional/language accents those feel left out...

Southern American: Yes.

Australian: I haven't run into a town like that yet.

The Dungeon of Descent only compounds how annoying the way to Alltrades Abbey is. Getting annoying that you can't even heal without relying on crappy leaves.

Free unlimited healing without having to use MP with the salvation stone is pretty damn useful though. It's a fair trade off.
That things a piece of junk that regularly heals only 20 HP, far less reliable and useful then a herb. Perma-bagged it right after that part cause its just super worthless.

Eh... I consider it fairly garbage. It's an herb at best and only works in battle. And only one character can have access to it.

I'd much rather have my heal spells.

Unless you want, for some reason, to be defending against one monster while you try to finish patching everyone up for free on occasion or something. In which case whatever floats your boat.

Edit: I've seen no point in using it, whatsoever, after getting my magic back. Especially with the casino handing me prayer rings, and unlocking better heal spells on everyone because of classes. And I absolutely hated using it during that scenario.

Being able to heal yourself to full in a dungeon without using any items or MP is far from worthless, wtf.
Its healing power is so weak that using it in a battle during those dungeons seemed more likely a waste of a characters turn than not. Heal one character for a pitiful amount of HP while they or another take more damage from a baddie in return. Medicinal herbs are super cheap so just stocking up on a ton of 'em to heal in and outta battle felt far more effective imo.

Granted, my experience is more with the PS1 version where it was practically the same as an herb except unlimited. Though I'm pretty sure the 3DS version is still 20-30 so most of the time it'll do fairly more than 20.

It doesn't see much use afterwards(especially since you get something better like 2 islands later) but that shit was a blessing during that portion of the game. It's better than having to rely on the basic heal spell imo.

Are you people seriously badmouthing the healing rock?

It's not that good. It's complete garbage, especially only healing for 20HP...

The bosses deal at least that much, so you're not making up any ground in order to survive.

Edit: how the FUCK are you supposed to beat
Rasher and Stripe
? Seriously, their dmaage is fucking insane for the level and lost abilities.

Edit 2: Wow, that was a lame boss fight. Beat them on my second try. But Dazzle and DEsperate Hits are disgusting to fight against. Had to pray that they wouldn't kick my ass, and still lost Maribel. Salvation Stone was next to useless as I got more reliable 30HP heals from leaves.

It's a shame because the island's story by itself is great and rather inventive, but fighting without all your skills made everything else completely lame and boring.

Stuck looking for my next fragment.

Says that there's one in the Temple Palace at the end of a hidden passageway but no idea where that is. The other one is from the medal king and if I need to get enough mini medals for that, I don't have enough yet.

Halp please!

edit: Oh, it looks like
past Temple Palace is being rebuilt now.

I just beat
Rasher and Stripe
myself. Took me a few tries. I was only Level 13 so I got the sense that I'm probably underleveled. If either of them gets a desperate hit it's pretty much over.

So I just finished the Green Thumb Gardens place and
Damn, really? I don't remember it being that depressing in the original. Dude just leaves like that? Fuckin A. Then in the future they are buried together? Can't tell if I think its sad as hell or silver lining, they did end up together. Damn.

Completely baffled at what to do next. The first island just appeared so I went over there and got a tablet from a cave there and one from the castle and I've been encouraged to go back to the temple. The fairy there said I have all the tablets I need except.... I don't? I used two red and one green and I can't open anything up... this feels like a bug

Whew! Alltrades abbey down. The
arena
was annoying, only because of all the status effects.
Cardinal Sin
went down in 3 turns because the NPC got two criticals in a row. Glad that's over with!

Just started job grinding and I had a couple of questions. I heard some people on here mention that it says how many battles until your next job level up, but I don't see that anywhere under attributes.

Also, how many stars is "mastered" for a class? Thanks!

edit: oh.. one more. Do I need to go back to alltrade in the past to change vocations, or can I change in the present as well?

Present Alltrades is fine, you even get a Zoom option for it. And 8 stars is mastered, the stars also turn gold when you hit 8.

Your status won't tell you how many battles to rank up, much like you can't normally see EXP to level. Priests in the churches will tell you EXP info, the old lady at the left counter in Alltrades will tell you battles to rank up. Though I've found she's occasionally off by one, especially for the first rank up.

Edit: Also don't try to make much sense of when rank ups happen x.x I think in the original it took many more battles and happened at more understandable intervals, but I tried keeping track for some of the jobs here and it's weird numbers a lot of the time lol. There was even at least one instance where a rank up took fewer battles than the previous =p The base classes are probably all between 60 and 100 to max though. Numbers go up for higher classes.

That whole storyline dragged on. It was good but like you said, limitation of powers makes it a lot harder thus more frustrating to do.

I must have been so lucky fighting them. They only used regular attacks against me.

So what do I do with mini medals? 30 hours in spoilers incoming...

My guess is I can trade them with the reach guys whose house I can't reach with my ship? And I need the
flying carpet
to reach him? For which I need the
mermaid moon thing
? Which I will get from one of the tows which were
flooded
? I just finished the
water dungeon
.

Completed the alltrades temple arc. Man, I didn't struggle with it like everyone else seemed to. When I beat R&S my character levels were:

MC 17
Maribel 17
Ruff 16

Also, the prayer rock healed for 20-30 HP and I usually got 24-26. Amazing item, haha.

I had to make the main character a Sailor so he could follow in his father's footsteps. My god, the Tingle skill is amazing.

Before I go to alltrades in the present I'm gonna grind some job levels with the DLC tablets. I tried one and immediately got wrecked by monkeys that threw boulders and immediately killed Maribel and Ruff, probably a good idea to check online for levels I should be at, haha.

Also, FYI to people that complete Alltrades
Dont go backwards through the long ass dungeons like I did. When you exit the temple you get access to the squalor city you originally got dropped to ( with your skills taken ). I walked all the way back through the dungeons because I remembered seeing a shard/fragment at the city's bank. It let me pick it up now, but I traveled ALL the way through the dungeons, THERE AND BACK. Then when I left alltrades to properly move on, I noticed they created a massive shortcut to that city.

It was obnoxious, but I did get to grind out some job levels. Hopefully I save someone from doing what I did.

Why can't I save at the church in
greenthumb garden past

I think there's a book at the inn. You can save there. Also, you can always create a quick save on the world map before entering a town.
