Returning to the THE NEC, BIRMINGHAM 22-25th September
Mikeside ran a successful Whatsapp group last year, so I'll do the same again this year: If you're coming to EGX and you want to be in contact with other gaffers for meetups etc, PM me your number and I'll add you to the EGX 2016 GAF Whatsapp group.
So we all enjoyed the queue-fest that was last year. So they have promised this year you won't be waiting 3 hours to play the next piss weak game out of DICE/EA hurray! This is going to be a quick and dirty thread this year so people can discuss plans, I know a few of us always end up meeting up and I'm going to be there till Saturday this year so I'll try to organise food in our usual haunt Wagamammas as I know there is one in the centre of the Bull Ring.
"So what's on?"
Games!
VR was a big thing last year so expect more of that, definitely from Playstation with their launch of VR next month. Besides that a lot more big titles with many sequels people have been looking forward to such as Titanfall, Battlefield and Dawn of War. Some titles I would recommend checking out include: Planet Coaster and Yooka-Laylee. Two very old British developers returning to genres that made them famous. There is a longer list of titles, which will be expanded upon this month over here.
Board Games!
Again more board games which I recommend as I've recently fell down that rabbit hole myself and EGX was a good entry way in to that money sucking, hate generating, shit hole. Great fun. The guys from Esdevium Games will be there to help explain the obtuse rules that make Dota 2 look like Hearthstone. If they have it there play: Arcadia Quest. Great way to ruin friendships. *thumbsup*
Some Shouty Cunts From Youtube! ESports!

Actual Nightlife!
If anyone went last year they will know as soon as EGX is over the NEC area is desolate. Not any more apparently! There is a new Resorts World opened up promising food, movies and casinos. I'd suggest leaving for the town center myself. It's easy to get to, everywhere is Northern cheap and there is more choice.
