Notice of Update Distribution​

We are distributing an update to improve the stability of gameplay and to adjust balance.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but please apply the latest update before you enjoy the game.

Targeted platforms:

Major Changes Included in the Latest Update​

Additional Elements Added​

  • Added a function to record an icon and the name of an NPC on the map when you encounter that NPC.
  • Added NPC Jar-Bairn.
  • Added new quest phases for the following NPCs: Diallos/ Nepheli Loux/ Kenneth Haight/ Gatekeeper Gostoc.
  • Added some summonable NPCs in multiple situations.
  • Increased the number of patterns of objects player can imitate when using Mimic’s Veil.
  • Added night background music for some open field area.

Bug Fixed​

  • Fixed a bug that prevented summoned NPCs from taking damage in some boss battles.
  • Fixed a bug that sometime prevented the player from obtaining item after boss battle.
  • Fixed a bug that causes dialogue to be skipped when talking to NPCs and using custom key configurations.
  • Fixed a bug that causes the player to freeze when riding.
  • Fixed a bug that causes arcane to scale incorrectly for some weapons.
  • In situation where the player cannot obtain more than 2 talisman pouches, added talisman pouch to Twin Maiden Husks shop line up.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the user from warping to sites of grace from the map at the end of the game.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the player from moving to the next area after the battle with the Fire Giant.
  • Fixed a bug which causes some weapons to have incorrect scaling after strengthening.
  • Fixed a bug which causes some weapons to not use stat scaling.
  • Fixed hang-ups in certain occasions.
  • Fixed a bug which incorrectly displays multiplayer area boundary when playing online.
  • Fixed a bug that allows player to activate Erdtree Greatshield’s weapon skill without absorbing an attack using a special combination of item and incantation.
  • Fixed a bug which causes Fire’s Deadly Sin incantation to have different effect.
  • Fixed a bug with the Ash of War, Determination and Royal Knight's Resolve, where the damage buff will also apply to other weapons without that skill.
  • Adjusted the visual effect of Unseen Form spell.
  • Deleted the Ragged armor set from the game which was mistakenly obtainable in previous patch.
  • Fixed a bug that causes some hostile NPCs to drop Furlcalling Finger Remedy.
  • Fixed a bug that causes incorrect sound effect to play in some situations.
  • Fixed a bug which causes visual animation and hitboxes to not be displayed correctly on some maps.
  • Fixed bugs which causes incorrect visual and behavior for some enemies.
  • Fixed a bug that causes incorrect stat parameter for some armor.
  • Text fixes.
  • Other performance improvement and bug fixes.

Balance Changes​

  • Increased the drop rate of Smithing Stone for some enemies.
  • Added Smithing Stone to some early game shop line up.
  • Increased shield’s effectiveness.
  • Increased the damage for all offensive cracked pot items.
  • Increased the damage for the following items: Spark Aromatic/Poison Spraymist.
  • Increased the effect duration for the following items: Uplifting Aromatic/ Ironjar Aromatic.
  • Increased HP healing for Torrent when using the following items: Rowa Raisin/ Sweet Raisin/ Frozen Raisin
  • Reduced FP consumption and increased the damage of the following sorceries: Glintstone Cometshard/ Comet/ Night Comet
  • Increased the damage of the following sorceries: Gravity Well/ Collapsing Stars/ Crystal Barrage
  • Decreased FP consumption of the following sorceries: Star Shower/ Rock Blaster/ Gavel of Haima/ Founding Rain of Stars/ Stars of Ruin/Greatblade Phalanx/Magic Downpour/ Loretta’s Greatbow/ Loretta’s Mastery/ Carian Greatsword/ Carian Piercer/ Shard Spiral
  • Raised projectile speed and range of Great Glintstone Shard
  • Decreased Ash of War, Hoarfrost Stomp's damage and increase cast time.
  • Increased Ash of War, Bloody Slash's self-inflict damage while slightly lowering the damage and increasing the cast time.
  • Decreased weapon skill, Sword of Night and Flame’s damage.
  • Increased FP consumption and lower duration of Ash of War, Barricade Shield.
  • Changed FP consumption timing of Ash of War, Prelate’s Charge.
  • Decreased the damage of spirit summoned when using the item Mimic Tear Ash and changed the spirit’s behavior pattern.
  • Other enemy and weapon balance changes
The version number of this update shown at the lower right corner of the Title Screen will be as follows:

  • App Ver. 1.03
  • Regulation Ver. 1.03.1
Online play requires the player to apply this update.

Good thing I took down Mohgwyn before they nerfed the Sword of Night and Flame's laser and Mimic Tear.

Yeah, I'm holding off playing any more until the game is full of patches/extra content! I WANT THE FULL, PERFECT EXPERIENCE! (because this game is worth nothing less)

Some things I didn't expect to get a nerf still got caught by a stray nerf bullet. I guess I'll have to tell my friend about Bloody Slash. It's a shame because it was technically a good non-mage newbie-helper skill for something that could be found so early game, but now the cost of using it seems too risky.

Also instead of dumbing down mimic tear, they should just find a way for the A.I. to learn and study your behaviour to perfectly match it. Like if you roll a lot preemptively, it should too.

I'm really curious to hear this new night time music and I'm hoping the tone is vastly different considering what you can encounter during the night.

I took down Maliketh before the batch, I was really having hard time with this guy but after beating Malenia, he wasn't that hard by comparison

Honestly the batch it doesn't mean much to me, I beat most of the bosses without using any of that stuff, my build is pure melee with no magic whatsoever.

I resisted all the OP stuff besides bloody slash so I'm not affected much. I hope they don't nerf bow jump attacks. So good for me. I never struggle with multiple bats anymore plus jumping has a high chance of giving you head shots on enemies.

I just applied the patch and already notice a big jump in the amount of rune drops from these bats in the Ruin-Strewn Precipice and more smithing stones on random spots on the walls since the last time I was here.

I can joke about it but this is nice addition:

I used bloody Slash a few times, but went with Sepukku instead with blood talisman. Then switched again for Malenia fight then switched completely to her weapon and moonveil.

lol, I tried the Mimic Tear when I first got it, found it boring, never used it again. The game has so many cool summons and I've used a bunch of them, latest favourite is Black Knife Tiche, super agile and hits enemy with scarlet rot. Never used hoarfrost stomp, no need, guess peeps lost their easy mode. 😂

All jokes aside it's cool to see just how many changes/improvements are in this first big patch, FROM is going to be improving what is already one of the all-time greats and make it even better, Praise the Erdtree.

85 hours, just platinum'ed it after I originally didn`t even want to play the game due to its performance issues.
Talk about addictive game design.
It just took you 85 hours platinumed it ? Did you use guides ?

I am 94 hours in and I have still all the north part of the map to uncover and some hidden location to explore....

Bloody Slash was a cool & strong ability I randomly came across and now it gets nerfed just cuz some online people abuse it? Patches have been common for a long time now but I gotta say this is the first time my singleplayer experience has been tampered with mid-playthrough lol

When I played MMO's a lot I used to hate that. Perfectly fine skill gets nerfed because fools online exploit it / spam it in PvP.

Quick resume failed on me for the first time. I guess the game crashed somehow. Lost about 4/5 hours of gameplay (maybe not even 2 now I know where to go and what to do) Oh well I knew I playing with fire. Had to happen sometime.

isn’t the game saving all the time. Not good if you can lose such a a hunk thanks to quick resume.

This is why I don’t care about PVP in Souls games, for me the fun of these games comes from fighting interesting creatures and bosses not fighting other players who can suck all the fun out of the game over what’s “meta”.

Yeah I guess. Youre right, I never trusted quick resume anyways, suprised it took this long for something like this to happen. Sucks tho.

Final boss of crumbling Farum Azura SUCKS.
Cool visual terrible, terrible boss fight, terrible gimmick. I don’t think I’d be able to beat it had I not cheesed. The combo i mentioned earlier is the only way to win this fight to me.
use the mimic tear to catch malekith attention and hoar frost stomp him away. If the mimic dies, you can dodge and hoarfrost him while he’s preparing for another attack.
There’s no way this boss can be beaten by melee characters without cheese. No fucking way.



i only used a frost buildup infuse on my weapon for a bit of extra dmg but i dont know if you would consider that cheese or not

overall fight is not pleasant to look at but i was clutch towards the end with no flasks remained and my survival instincts were pumped to the max lmao

i will return to this fight once again. i want to study him and become better at him. i only beat him bcoz i was really tanky for him and that helped me take some quite a bit of punishment

I'm still in the early game but I lost one time to an invader and they respawned on the next visit.

Assuming you mean an NPC invader btw. Not sure what a "CPU Pre-planned invasion" is exactly.

If that's the case, Souls games usually respawn the invader but it wouldn't surprise me if there were a few one chance only encounters. Pretty sure that's not the case here though. Maybe go during the same time of day as you did previously?

Edit: and what do you mean by "it doesn't appear anymore"? If you touched a red summon sign that was a player (unless it's a small handful of NPC red summons). I only know of one of those but im early on.

Edit the edit: make sure you're using the finger so you can see the summon sign again if that was the case. Sorry if that's an obvious one.
No finger used, it was an npc invasion and it happened on its own when I reached the place, it even made me dismount from my horse.

Yeh. the first dragon heart I got was from one and I was wondering why I just got a dragon heart.

edit: only ones that don't respawn, like the rot one under the starter place drops one but the 3 that respawn in the palace near endgame don't.

I'm not seeing a fix regarding seemingly broken Mausoleums or enemy AI crashing in reaction to some attacks, maybe those are still coming?

Overall amazing update, fixing some of the game's biggest issues, especially:

That's two worst, disgusting exploits literally ruining PvP since release - GONE. Fucking perfect. Looks like I'm invading again today!

mwahahahahaha🖕 :messenger_beaming: 🖕GIT GUD. Seriously now, I think they should rather triple the FP consumption on Hoarfrost it making it less spamable but this also sounds more reasonable.

Balance changes all look good, finally should make cracked pots and perfumes more useful. Looks like OP magic just became even more OP, that glintstone comet range increase seems a bit much but I'm about to respec to max INT again so this should be interesting.

Also:

Wow. Too bad I killed both Gostoc and Diallos for his helmet on my NG+. Kenneth Haight's questline felt broken and unfinished, curious how this plays out.

I didn't need cheese to beat Maliketh as a melee character. Only took a couple of tries too.

Probably time to accept that you just aren't as good as you think you are.

whats up with moonveil, is that the Katana? I just switched to that on my own free will after 80 hours of Uchi. I leveled it as high as I can and Im finally loving a different weapon as I am Dex/Int build. Please don't say the sword is going to get nerfed.

It'll probably be next seeing as it does way more damage than SONAF does on PvP and that's just been nerfed to shit.

People expected moonveil to be nerfed this patch and it miraculously survived so it's a dead cert for next patch.
 
Mimic tear still seems good, just beat the Duo with it very easily. While they were distracted I just spammed rotten breath

Also would have been nice if Incantations/faith got some love.

I don't think it was nerfed because of pvp, it's easy to avoid both attacks from that sword the charge up time is long. However in pve that sword was a better azur comet (damage and fp efficiency) than actual azur comet unless you had the unlimited fp charge for the flask and you could only use that once a fight.

Meh... They buffed shitty spells that were useless before. Who would use cometshard/night comet when comet cost was only slightly more and did considerably more damage?
And crystal barrage was absolutely pointless, costed a ton and did practically no damage.
I'm surprised they haven't nerfed the cheap pvp weapons like Vyke's Spear that inflicts madness in 1-2 hits.
