The one good thing about it is that it accurately recreates the tabletop experience. You just don't have physical access to your cards unless you collect a full set.
Duels is really a hamstringed version of the game, the puzzles are fun but the actual deck building and drafting aren't good.

Mercury is so damn awesome and smart, Venus was a badass who was doing it all on her own before the other senshi were ever doing shit.

Blue was always my jam until they nerfed the fuck out of card draw. Urza and MM block was such a beautiful time to be alive, with Fact or Fiction and Accumulated Knowledge and Brainstorm all in the constructed meta.
Now card draw is fucked so it slowed Blue down so much.
I need to get home so I can read through SOI without having to circumvent my works DNS. Ya got me fired up again Dragonz

Blue is awful in SOI. No joke. I remember my friend in high school had a blue control deck that was the literal devil but now it's just like...meh. I had a w/u hextech deck back in the day that was pretty killer but it's so bad now that I have zero desire to rebuild.
Honestly you're gonna get better card draws with black and green these days lmao
IMO green and white are the best colors in SOI. Black is second worst behind blue and red is just...kind of there.
It's alright, I'm a fan of B/R Machinehead style decks too so I'm betting SOI will deliver there, and I'm ALWAYS able to build a capable mono R Sligh deck no matter the set.

I edited it in above but black is pretty disappointing in SOI. Red's okay. It's better if you're doing g/r werewolves, but as a mono, you're gonna struggle.
The only thing blue is good for is clue milling. And Thing in the Ice is a fun time.

I did a run-through on how magic works, so maybe.
I give every Radiohead release a try, because I feel like maybe I matured in the intervening years and will somehow come to appreciate the intricate convolutions in a way that I couldn't before.

Yu-Gi-Oh took a lot more from it than I thought. They just simplified the summoning process by replacing mana and lands with monster sacrifice and made monster types that matter signifantly less than Magic color types do unless you used a specific deck like I used to. I used a sorcerer deck that was so bullshit that people straight up gave up out of frustration and a dragon deck that was amazing but I sold it once I got out of the game.
I like anime that throw the rules out of the window to scumbag your way to victory (using the lightning as armor and using a horn as a lightning rod in the Pokemon anime and shooting the levitation ring off of a monster to crush monsters standing under it in Yugioh)
I'm all for being invited to try new things. But if someone says I have bad taste for not caring for something, it doesn't make me enthusiastic to re-examine the material. It's more likely to make me double down.
I've listened to Radiohead a lot. I've tried to convince myself I understand why it's good... you know, even back in the 90s. I didn't get it then or now. A few songs are kinda cool, but as a whole the band and their sound strikes me as boring and, after a while, grating
Bob Dylan falls into the same category. Supposedly great, but I listen to any of his songs and I have absolutely no interest whatsoever. All he's done is provided the framework for better artists to cover his songs and make them actually good. Have you listened to Dylan's All Along the Watchtower? It's so boring.. Jimi Hendrix made it exciting. Dylan is a snore.
The M:tG books did so much of this, especially with the Urza's story and the Skyship Weatherlight.
most card games took from magic. i used to play the harry potter game a bit (got the starter decks for christmas one year) and its even more like magic.
monster types aren't really the same thing as colors, they're more or less equivalent to tribes. pokemon types and the whatever they were in harry potter are more like colors and in hearthstone each hero is like a monotype deck of their own color (with neutrals that are interchangeable with all)
now that i think about it though, you're probably talking more about attribute which does match up somewhat but there isn't really any main mechanics that use them
the anime stuff is partly why i want to see mroe of a pokemon mmo. the more freeform you cna make it, the more interesting stuff you can do with environment and such
