Today Im laughing at the shittiest things on the internet. Sorry everyone.

Still listening to their works up to Untitled. Got me into heavier music so I'm quite thankful for that.

I haven't seen anything of that game yet, but I've finished Dishonored 1 multiple times.

Best games of last gen: dishonored, sleeping dogs, deus ex HR, binary domain, arkham asylum, dark souls 1 + 2

So yeah, count me in the looking forward to dishonored 2 camp

My sister has worked at the local wal mart for almost 20 years and she could tell you the stories about the people who come to wal mart at night.

Shit's wild

My hometown was the meth capital of America in 2006-2007

Shit's wild

Having played up until the first boss of Lost Planet 1, I think LP1 is such an underrated title of last gen. The setting, the gameplay, the characters, the enemies in that game. God I want Lost Planet 1 Special Edition on Steam so fucking bad. It is so freakin rad. There was immediacy to get TP energy from dead enemies in that game that I have felt in no other games.

I fucking loved that game. It felt like a game that would have been on dreamcast.

Certainly better than gears of war.

No Mirror's Edge, Assassin's Creed games, Vanquish, or The Last of Us?

Even Modern Warfare one deserves credit because, regardless of what your opinion on shooters is, it helped us escape the WWII era and was a great game.

I'm looking forward to Dishonored too. Though I have to confess I wish they got Chloe Moretz to do Emily's voice again, especially with her being an optional protagonist.

I also hope you have the ability to play solely as Emily, not like in Assassin's Creed where you had to do half the missions with Jacob and half with Evie.

AssCreed is a straight up garbo series

Hey I platinumed ACII. I'll admit some of the later games get carried away with nonsense but there's a lot to love in the series.

Like c'mon, imagine sliding around and flipping side to side, shooting and punching soviet soldiers in space combat to an afro funk soundtrack.

GOTY

They should have. It's not like she's doing anything important...just bad supernatural movies and Neighbors 2.

But at the same time she probably still sounds really young and I don't know how old Emily is in the new game.

Not the Ezio saga. It went downhill afterwards, though.

Eh, I played 1 and 2 and they were both just so boring

There was nothing to the combat, the climbing is just the worst and there wasn't anything interesting at all in the story from what I played (speaking of which, games that do that "Ok this character's going to talk at you at length just walk along slowly please" thing can fuck right off)

I had a nightmare and then I woke up and my once best friend had texted me after almost a year of not talking and I honestly do not need this pain rn

And it was something about fucking Uncharted 4, he works at GS and he sent a pic of the collector's edition and I'm like "why"

GIVE ME THE ABILITY TO REPRESENT THE WU TANG CLAN AS A ONE PERSON WRECKING CREW, FUCKING UP ALIENS AS ODB SPITS FIRE IN THE LOUD SPEAKER IN MY HELMET!

The game takes place 15 years later. So she must be in her early twenties by now

Why don't you talk to him anymore?

I'm liking this frozen time mechanic in Dishonored 2

I actually liked Neighbors a lot and am looking forward to its sequel, but I have no idea why they changed actresses. Maybe scheduling, maybe Moretz costs a lot more now, or maybe they didn't think she could strike the right tone with the new direction.

Though some people just sound younger. My own voice is relatively high for my age.

First time entering this thread...What the hell is this place?

It's exactly what it looks like. Leave your inhibitions at the door.

I'll tell you why Dishonored was a badly designed game in my view.

It's because the game asks you to "go along with it". You have to voluntarily follow the path of greater resistance in order for the gameplay to match up with the game's theming. This creates constant dissonance regardless which way I play it! If I follow the path of least resistance (blow everyone away easily), then the game experience isn't themed correctly. If I sneak around and make the game harder for no reason other than because it's "supposed" to be a sneaky game, then I feel like an idiot.

But...but...then we will never be able to have a beer together ;(

I'd love to visit Germany one day! If I'm there I'll take the beer!

and it looks like gfycat is bowing out of the gif hosting game. It now butchers the gifs it processes into low size mode.

Sneaking was easier for me. I didn't have to worry about ammo management or my health, and the powerset for stealth stuff was cooler than the powerset for straight up combat.

I left and he moved to Florida, just distance.

No keeping in touch through phones?

Is that not the central theme of the game? That doing things aboveboard and being a good person are difficult? He could so easily be the villain people thinks he is but he needs to prove otherwise.

I think this would be giving them far too much credit. As a gamer, my instinct (especially on first play) is to follow the path of least resistance. The path of least resistance in a stealth-themed game should be stealth.

Hitman games are/were like this too (haven't played the last two) to a ludicrous degree.

Vazra

irresponsible vagina leak
And Lost Planet is dope, I hope they can put the franchise back on track.

I liked Lost Planet 1 but 2 fucked up the single player game thanks to the coop focus. The 3rd I thought it was a bad game but it doesnt really fit within LP. Kinda wish they brought Ex Troopers to US cause that one seemed fun.

Binary Domain is better third person shooter than it tho and the characters are more memorable. I do wish it had more weapon variety and the first stage wasnt shit but overall a great shooter.

No, it's more that violence makes everything nastier. The last level is the best presentation of that, particularly the boat guy's little speech (
"now get the fuck off my boat"
) and general design of the map. So it's not about character, but consequences on the environment / other characters.
Dishonored at least had the decency to not force morality directly, but the world becoming less nasty (much like Black & White) was the reward for the player.

Fable 2 had the 'being good is hard' as an actual theme though, where a lot of the smaller moral decisions affects only the player and nobody else, thereby making them better judges of character. Unfortunately, much like any other approach based in utilitarianism ( Infamous and Fable 3 in particular were horrible at this ), the finale hinges on a 'amount of good' number anyway.

Worse, mechanically speaking the designers tend to favour one approach over the other. Infamous for instance, had homing missiles on 'good' but 'cluster bombs' on 'bad', which were fucking useless because of how the game was designed. Similarly, stealth killing in Dishonored with the 'consume corpse' ability makes the game easy mode everywhere without any kind of impunity or challenge. The opposite happens in Black & White, where playing evil is basically not an option because you don't get as many civilization bonuses from it.

edit: to me Dishonored felt like an action game that had been redesigned to have 'stealth' tacked on, with the Blink ability being the dead giveaway of that.

So does anyone remember TrickStyle?

It was a Dreamcast game that was like hoverboard trick simulator iirc

It's been on GoG for quite awhile and no one has said anything about it on GAF or Twitter.

I'm sure there is someone on GAF has fond memories of playing it, right?

Someone, right?

I feel like speaks more to you as a player than them as designers in this instance. Mostly because I feel like you're overblowing the dissonance. Personally I don't remember it being a problem.

Then again I'm not very confrontational in games like this. I prefer finding alternate paths if I can.
