I split up with my GF about two weeks ago. The first week was a little rough in places but I'm past it now. It was the right thing to do, long distance relationships are hard work mane, especially when you throw two kids into the mix. Plus, she started being a pain in the arse, I lost interest.

Aw man. I'm sad to hear that. You seemed way cool together. A few weeks ago I decided to move past the sex is really fucking great but I don't think I'm interested into something much deeper than that phase and went all in. So far so good. I already stopped bracing for a possible breakup and accepted it as something ongoing. As somebody formerly married to my job, it feels nice to have somebody there for a change.

Awesome dude, just go for it if it feels right! The love of a good woman is a wonderful thing, hope you guys work out mane.

But yeah, we just weren't happening anymore. I always knew the history and distance would make stuff difficult and it proved to be the case, things were really strained by the end. Then we had a blazing argument the night before my birthday over nothing more than her deciding to be a complete cunt, and that was kind of it for me. She's a horrible drunk and apologies after the fact start to ring hollow sooner or later.

Shit trickled along for another week or so but yeah, that was the final nail in the coffin for me.

But it's all good! I'm happy mane, no more tedious two hour phone calls about how shit her day at work was or how much of a twat [family member X] is being. And I'm not made to feel guilty about going out with female friends anymore. Win!

Life's too short to cling onto bullshit relationships.

Oh God. Phone calls. I just can't bear those, even innocent, "how was your day" ones. I'm just not that kind of person. I only phone or send IM messages when I actually need them.

Aw, you couldn't sleep last night either? I tried going to bed at midnight and just tossed and turned for 45 minutes. I got up, walked to the couch and turned on the TV; “What’s on the DVR? … Sons of Liberty, a 3-part “History Channel” exclusive about the American Revolution. Okay” I watched the first part and wow it was bad. Kind of excited for parts two and three now though. Sam Adams is portrayed by this long-locked 20-something who is basically the greatest man alive. Paul Revere is a droll character who for some reason already has today’s stereotypical Boston accent. Hank from Breaking Bad plays Benjamin Franklin.

After 2 hours of the first part of the show, I shuffled and chuckled back to bed and fell asleep instantly. At like 3:30 AM.

I'm hella tired at work right now.

I love the sort of stripped down look of Better Call Saul. It has an isolated feeling compared to Breaking Bad but in a good way.

I absolutely adore how the show is doing its own thing. It has Breaking Bad's grit and grime, but that's the end of it. Cinematography is also stellar. That sequence with the space blanket had me in stitches.
