Fans are worried Metaphor won't sell well because Xbox is heavily promoting it

You must be desperate to use a topic from two years ago for an embargo that was specfic for that showcase. Goodness me. You Sony fannies are something else.

Damn man.......it was used in comparison. You really should not be calling anyone else "fannies" if that triggers you.

Not triggered at all. Just found it hilarious. But you can continue making assumptions of someone's emotion based off words on a screen :)

He was answering my question and you called him out as a " desperate Sony fanny" or some such nonsense. That's triggered in my book, but whatever you say.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
It's almost as if being a previously-recognizable and long-absent IP drives greater sales.

Metaphor is selling more than fine from the anecdotal evidence we're seeing.

It is, Heisenberg is just being a week bit cheeky ;)

Looks like fans were right to be concerned, at least in the UK.

Metaphor debuts at #7, despite a 94 Metacritic score and releasing on all platforms. On the other hand, Silent Hill 2 debuted at #2, despite being a remake and a console exclusive.

By JRPG standards Metaphor is a huge success. JRPGs that aren't named Final Fantasy aren't usually expected to sell more than 1 or 2 million globally their first year, and Metaphor cracked a million its first day.

For reference, Persona 5 sold 2 million in its first year on the market, and capped out around 3 million until Royal. SMT5 sold 1.1 million (1.6 including Vengeance). Tales of Arise sold about 2 million in its first 6 months.

These are all games that were considered massive breakthrough successes for their respective series and none of them cracked a million on launch day.

This isn't some Spider-Man or God of War AAAA game that needs to sell 6 million to turn a profit. Selling Persona-like numbers was probably Atlus' best case scenario for this game and they look like they might even beat that.

Yeah BG3 would’ve been better if you mashed X for combat
In many games you are just mashing a button. Just because there is a variety of buttons that you can mash does not change what we are doing in reality which is just mashing buttons, a bunch of buttons and moving sticks. :D
Even in a turned-based combat game, you have to mash some buttons to trigger a sequence of events.
