#FE | Genei Ibunroku #FE Import OT: Fire Emblem’s spinoff Performa ft. SMT48

I liked what I've seen so far of the game especially the interesting SMT weakness + FE weapon triangle battle system. Really looking forward to the game next year.

And I still want to say this but I really don't understand why people keep on bashing the game. It might not be what we all expected from SMT x FE but I really liked how the game came out. Man, three SMT games next year, can't wait for SMTIVF to be announced as well.

I'm very curious how the dungeon design ends up being. Atlus hasn't made well designed 3D dungeons for a home console in nearly a decade, and while I enjoyed SMT4 the dungeons in that game were mostly disappointing. SMT4's dungeons were mostly just straight lines and I didn't have to think at all or run the risk of getting lost until near the very end. I'd like if anyone who plays it who's also played SMT: Nocturne and Digital Devil Saga would give their impressions.

Is that an epic bro-fist moment at about 0:28 in the Itsuki Aoi + Chrom character trailer? If so, I feel like that needs a gif.

Even though it got permission, isn't this just an awareness/marketing/hype thread at this point? And even if an OP can't be there to make a thread on a particular date, they're usually still locked until release anyway.

So far it's nothing but an awareness/information thread about a game few actually know a lot about since it's import only at the moment. Thus there's no "hype" or any noteworthy form of "marketing" in effect here. Makes lots of sense in this particular case.

But pretty much everyone in this thread already knows about it, there's no meaningful game discussion happening. There are lots of Japanese games that are import-only, that could do with some awareness (which actually is a form of marketing and hype). Why does this game deserve a week-early OT compared to anything else?

Because it's the holiday season ... and he got permission as people travel this season as he posted already, why are you crying about it?

Because they asked a mod?

Why.... do you care? If you're really concerned, PM a mod

im very interrested in the game. I'll watch a few people stream them. Not too worried about spoilers since i most likely wont understand anything

The idol theme is super gross, but the gameplay looks good. Not sure I can get past the horrible theme, though.

I might pick it up when I'm done with Exist Archive.

I don't think we would have such an awesome dynamic or atmosphere if they didn't do the Idol theme. I mean it's really damn cool that they take on the theme all the way with the battles taking on the guise of a performance. With all the comradarie and chemistry. It's bright, colorful, creative, and something very unique.
I mean the attention to detail and how it it's portrayed. You have giant images of each performer behind them filled with so much personality. When you select moves related to them they're actually react and wave at you. Then there's the neat detail of how their special moves starts off with a magical seal that's actually their autograph. Its all around filled with very well implemented art direction and dynamics

Idols makes sense in that they're the only people that would wear such ridiculous attire. Otherwise a cross over fire emblem would have to take place in an anime convention or a renaissance faire.

The other key thing too, is that this takes Fire Emblem into a modern age.

When this game was first shown, people really didn't know what to think. Everyone was expecting a hard crossover of Fire Emblem and SMT. But now, after some time, I think people are starting to open up to this game. It looks really unique, and I am kind of happy that the creators were allowed to make something crazy and original like this.

I'm going to keep my eye on it.

What a fabulous OT.

I will cry if my bundle doesn't make it to my door before New Year's. Will try setting up a stream for the game though.

So is there something like the social link system in Persona in this game?

No, not really. But it looks like all the characters have side stories you can follow, likely pertaining to their future aspirations in the entertainment industry or their work in it, etc.

Hopefully formatting works and it doesn't look too ugly.

btw, this is the composer for the game
Yoshiaki Fujusawa, looks familiar doesn't he?

I found this fan wikia in Japanese, should help whoever is doing a playthrough of the game, it doesn't have much data now of course, but admins promise to update once the game comes out.

I think I'd like it more if it had a rock band aesthetic or something. I just can't stand Japanese idols.

Ok but the OP already said this sorta petty complaining about the themes isn't what this thread is about.

Looking forward to see how the game will shape up, too bad it's looking it'll bomb big time everywhere.

Pretty sure these are reversed.

Looking forward to everyone's impressions.

Suck at formatting from copy/paste Office to Thread, pretty late and tired, thank you will fix and make more formatting corrections later when I have proper time and access.

So is there something like the social link system in Persona in this game?

The Topic system is basically your Support/Social Link system. You interact with other character relationships through side stories and complete scenarios to unlock skills and costumes and other things. These help you learn more about the characters, such as Touma's obsession with the ideal hero and his goal to be a hero for children on TV.

Thank you for this, I was going to add side characters but they were still being updated by Nintendo as of yesterday. I will wait when all of them are shown so I don't have to keep constantly editing. I have them translated, I will add them when I get proper renders and find out how significant they are without spoilers. Didn't want to hit the character limit but I will be definitely updating as soon as I can when I have access to computer.

Don't worry about it, you already said you are considering picking it up. We will let you know if there are rock characters in the game, but I do hope you give it a chance since the game encompasses the entire Entertainment Industry, not just music idols. The thread is here to get everyone who is interested on the same page since people superficially know what it is, but don't really know what the game is about and everything else about it. I hope this helps in some form.

Is there any kind of preload for this game on the eshop?

Yes there should be. There might be prepaid card, haven't checked yet.

To be fair an OT is for discussing a game, both the good and the bad. I'm gonna be buying the game and i am somewhat excited for it but I feel that the idol theme was the wrong way to go for this collaboration, especially if they wanted it to sell like SMTIV.

Sorry if that's not okay to say.

They're not very large, but they could be helpful.

Some of these side characters look like Ace Attorney nutjob witnesses, intriguingly enough.
I never played a persona game, judging from the P4 anime though I expect awesome weirdness!

The Media Create thread expects a 30 000 sales opening in Japan, which is pretty bad. I hope it turns out good, and maybe sells the next week too to not completely bomb.

RIP #FE, we hardly knew you.
