FIFA 12 - Previews, Updates, Impressions, et cetera

I had Fifa World Cup and 11, and while I feel like I found it once, I swear later on I was searching all over and couldn't find it for reference, had to find a video on youtube as a guide. Guess I'll have to keep a heads up for where you all say it was.QVT said:

And since you mentioned a camera angle, out of curiosity, I'm assuming most everyone sticks to the tele/tele-coop mode?

Yup, and the arena cam should be the same as the one you use in game (i.e. tele). Otherwise everything is at a 90-degree angle and so it doesn't really help you learn how to aim shots or do skill moves.brentech said:

I haven't had much trouble defending ._. I mean in comparison with how well I defended in previous games of course. I'm not saying I don't suffer goals, far from that. I'm having so many problems attacking. I can't create chances. Wow. I just... I don't know. I try all types of setups, and can barely create them. As such I have won like 1 game on penalties after a draw, and one game 1-0 with a corner kick. And some 10 losses after that.

Guy, all you have to do is rotate the movements depending on what direction you're going. The skill move list always assumes you are moving to the right (I think this is correct).QVT said:

So in arena mode, let's say you're moving forward (up) towards the goal. All you have to do is rotate those movements, so now you move the stick up and then down.
It's pretty easy to figure out.

The simple fact is that the arena is worthless and while it was a cool loading screen thing to show off the pro camera in 08 or whatever, it's well past its time. I doubt it'll be in 13, with how close they came to taking it out of 12.

For me, transposing the directions is extremely intuitive and I don't have to think twice about it. If I want my guy to do a fake lunge towards the bottom side line, I'm going to move my stick towards the direction of that line, not some predetermined direction.

You can set up a practice match if you want to. The Practice Arena and Loading Arena are breaks from a normal play session. I'm not sure why you'd want to enforce the Tele cam if you can just get into a game.Awesome Animals said:

The point is that it'd be a simple addition to allow the user to select what camera they want in the arena. That way people like me that want it in Tele can do that. If you want Pro cam, just leave it on the default.JWong said:

Try using jockey to close down the attacker and wait for the right moment to tackle. Try positioning your defender by thinking of what the attacker might do next. Push and tug help destabilize the attacker quite well too.
Personal thought though, I think the AI defends very well by itself. If you used to secondary press, try using secondary contain just to move the defender closer then let the AI take care of it.
Managed to get OM and Dortmund to best Barcelona at both possession and tackling. So I'm quite sure I did something right there. Bear in minds that it's still very difficult to take the ball from Barcelona, especially their three forwards with unpredictable dribble.
