How you guys buy those overpriced BDs...that's just insane to me.

My plan is to send them to my mother's place. That likely means I won't pick them up for a month or two, but what can you do.

I'm moving to my Dad's house so I guess it's not a big deal, was thinking if it was worth risking it or not, but I'd much rather it turn up at my dads before I get there and I wait rather than it being delivered to my current house after I've left.

A guy came in to do a quote for a house clearence yesterday and he said "oh wow you like Japanese stuff" after seeing all my figures and said he thought it was cool, but I couldn''t tell if he was being genuine or not haha.

I'm planning on putting the Hibiki figma and nendo on one side of my computer desk. But it will look uneven if I do that so I need something to balance it out.

I've been eyeing this Kazanari Tsubasa figure (from the same series).

I guess AmiAmi and Nippon-Yasan are the first places I should look?

Your first stop should always, always be MyFigureCollection, which you seem to know about. Users there will give you a good idea about the general price and how rare it is. Users will also link to the figure when it's up for sale, but this just sometimes.

AmiAmi should almost always be your number one stop to shop once you know a bit about the price/rarity. They usually have very fair prices, quality goods, and a good selection. Their site is also in English, which is great for us western folks.

You can then go to other sites like Mandarake (second hand only), Hobby Search, Nippon-Yasan, Anime Jungle, and so on, but a grand majority of us here use AmiAmi pretty exclusively. In fact, outside of a few rarer Nendos that I really wanted, I pretty much only use AmiAmi. Patience is usually a virtue, unless you think the price of the figure is going to shoot up.

Plus their mascot is totes adorbes.

Edit: I don't buy exclusives, so if you want advice on that, /shrug.

Im not even talking about the import anime prices but the way its priced here in the US.
It wasnt really cheap. Today it is much cheaper on an episodic basis and the quality is way way up. Todays collectors should be pretty happy.

KLK is the one show that I've ever been willing to pay Aniplex/Japanese prices for. That show connected with me in a way that nothing else has in probably over a decade. It's gorgeous, the characters are great, the humor mostly works, and it has one of the most fabulous villains of all time. It can't get much better for me.

Hell, I almost lost all willpower against buying the RAH Ryuuko and Satsuki at those $200 / ea prices. Fortunately, I came to my senses, but I won't lie - I still think "Maybe I should while they're still available..." every time they pop up.

There are like 4 different Kuroneko figures going up tonight. Memories, sweet lolita, MF angel one, and a swimsuit one. I like all the non-swimsuit ones and she's clearly the best girl in the show but don't think I'm gonna try to grab any of those. Wallet am cry thanks to China dress Sora and I'm saving what's left for a few nendos I have my sights on.
