And wouldn't the cheats...I mean "character boosting" defeat the purpose of Achievements?
I'm guessing since this isn't Steam Achievements, it's "local only" and only you can view them.
Seems like a cool idea. Would buy it if they put this version on PSN.
What the hell does it need 2GHz and a gig of RAM for? :|
... what? Also what gives with re-releasing VII but not say 13 or 13-2
Why?
Either they made a very overly generous estimate, or they really did do a lot of updates to the graphics, and the "requirements" aren't actually so much requirements, but suggested components for running the game on the highest settings. What the hell does it need 2GHz and a gig of RAM for? :|

... what?
VII already had a PC port. XIII and XIII-2 do not. Quick and easy way of making money for SE.
Gah! I'm just tired today... sorry ._. (I would buy the shit out of XIII-2 PC)VII was already released on PC but the newer FF 13 and 13-2 were not.

You don't need to use Steamworks to publish on Steam.
There's also nothing saying that it's not supporting steamworks. Exclusive to the Squeenix Store, even initially, could just mean that it'll be sold as steam keys. /optimism
Replaying Final Fantasy XII right now on a 720p television with component cables on the PS2 in widescreen mode and I swear Final Fantasy XII looks less pixelated than Xenoblade Chronicles on the same television. Final Fantasy XII runs at 480i and Xenoblade Chronicles at 480p.
I think Final Fantasy XII would look fantastic in HD.

Probably right. I don't get the point of achievements though. Who is there to share them with. I mean if it was steamworks I understand but...

Why?
I wonder if people will make custom characters, missions, etc. Would make it worth double dipping IMO.What?!! Ugh, well if I can add mods then I guess why not.
Because it's 2012 ans steam is leading everything.
That doesn't mean they should become a Steamworks title.Visibility

SE-EU said:It doesn't use Steam, it's only available from the Square Enix Store. Full details to be revealed at a later date.
The technology just isn't there yet.no option for Macs? I'd play this on my Air. Fuck you Square.
Yeah, well instead of getting 70% of my money they'll be getting 0%.Ahh, the "I only buy from Steam" crowd are back again, i see.
Unbelievable. It's almost like Square don't want to give 30% of the money away for nothing.
How dare they!?
Does the extra 30% per sale from their own store make up for the number of sales they could have gotten from selling it on Steam's store as well, though?Ahh, the "I only buy from Steam" crowd are back again, i see.

Honestly some of you have expectations so far away from earth that they can't even be found with the world's best telescopes
