For party content:
Guildhests
16-18 instanced raids at launch starting at level 15. (most are required to be beaten to progress with the main story).
Crystal Tower & Bahamut's Labyrinth (both supposedly 24 player raids)
Primals (Ifrit, Garuda, Titan, Good King Moggle Mog XII, Ramuh)
High level FATEs including Primal FATEs (only Odin announced so far)
PvP
The Duty Finder should be tested in two weeks that automatically matches with players across servers for content.
The lack of VA is only for the beta, the full game will have it. Have to say it was funny watching the cutscenes with no no VA.
Oh good. This was pretty much my only complaint of what I've seen so far.
Yeah they mentioned part of the reason its not in beta is due to the voice over contract they made with the actors/actresses; they can't/won't appear till the final release client (I hope that doesn't mean beta phase 4 won't have voices if that version is carrying over...). You can actually hear some of the voices in where they 'should' go in the new Crystals Call trailer.
Toggling is available as an option. Much like auto-lock-on camera for Z-targetting, these were options added into beta 3 after feedback.Maybe it should just toggle..
Edit - didn't realize toggle was an option. I haven't done it yet but I am thinking of switching the LT,RT with the LB, RB as I would imagine that would feel much more comfortable. Although I wish there was an option to have a normal bar at the bottom like 1.0 had. The cross bar works well but I honestly don't need all those slots and would prefer a smaller version personally.Holding down rt/r2 to enter combat abilities feels pretty strange to me. I am playing on PC with a controller, and as a gladiator i keep it held down the entire fight, which is not very comfortable.
Does that change later where you are using LT and RT abilities in the same battle, and it has some benefit? Maybe it should just toggle..
Is there any easier way to sit in chairs? Have to like, stand on them and type /sit...
Yeah it didn't bug me much either. It felt much sleeker than slowly selecting macros in FFXI.Now that I think about it, I guess having played FFXI with a controller also, holding down R2/L2 didn't feel that strange to me.
Mages cant use TP for anything right?, just making sure.
You can equip skills from other classes. Second Wind from pugilist (level 8) is one of the more useful as it gives an instant health boost.
So how does changing class work I was lv10 and buying a new weapon did not work
I think they need some kind of manual/faq for new players when the game is out. Few things i did not get
I was playing with a ps3 pad on pc and it was super nice
Currently playing as a Dragoon/Lancer. Best class.
I was wondering, why am I now getting "undefined" when I'm trying to log in? Are the NA servers down? Also, I'm playing on Ultros. I'm really new to MMO's. Currently level 10. Can I join anyone's guild?
The "Spell Speed" stat, although it's not possible to increase Spell Speed a lot at low levels. Spell Speed is supposed to get higher with stats and traits at higher levels.I have a question about stats. What increases the "spell speed"? My brother is feeling the Thaumaturge, but he doesn't like the slow casting speed. Does this improve in time?
This round of the beta's over which is why you can't connect - should be back next weekend.

I wonder how long Phase 4 will be. Considering their outline for Phase 3, Phase 4 won't start until the end of July probably. And then they also apparently have early access for people that preorder.
Wait what? I thought the beta was going to be for three weeks?

Also, AOEs. I played ARC in beta and found myself having to actually manage my TP once I got Quick Nock (conal AOE)TP management will be a thing once you start having more enemies with curse (TP drain debuff) and having to use higher level abilities.
Overall, I had a blast and I really enjoyed it.
- Leveling is solid. Questing is standard MMO kill/fetch, TBH its way out classed by modern day WoW's questing. However, with guildhests, Fates, hunting logs, kill chains, leves, level syncing ect really help distinguish the leveling experience and keep it fresh.
- Guildhest is fantastic. I really hope they continue to expand on it. The challenges are fun and its actually teaching people how to play in a group.
- Combat is much improved. My lvl 20 pug in 1.2 was no where near as dynamic and fun as my lvl 20 pug in 2.0. Its still too early to have any final judgement on the combat system but I certainly like the direction it is going. I def don't like limit break, would much rather a return to skill chains/magic bursts.
Things I'd like to see changed:
- Get rid of the "questwall" for doing the instances. The trinity already makes putting groups together frustrating, there should be as few hurdles as possible standing in the way.
- The limits on leves are as lame as ever and I cannot understand why it still exists. For me, they're a lot more engaging than the regular quests since you can tune their difficulty.
- I couldn't find an option in settings but I'd like to be able to filter out everyone else's debuffs/attacks on a target -- its get really spammy and hard to track my debuffs on a mob in group play.
- I leveled the entire time with my brother and it was annoying to have to constantly drop group when we were doing story/class quests. I don't mind them being solo but I don't see why it can't just pull me into the instance without forcing me to drop group first.
I agree with this, the limit on the levels are kinda pointless when they should just set it so you can only do one once per day. And turn that into the daily system of sorts. (Though I absolutely hate dailies). There rewards for them aren't anything special and they take more time to do than FATES and generally give much less reward.
I'm surprised by how many people don't know the beta's schedule. Does nobody read the info on the beta forums?
these super short betas are torture... hope they open it up more soon![]()
TP management will be a thing once you start having more enemies with curse (TP drain debuff) and having to use higher level abilities.
... you can use them for gathering and crafting. 1 a day? FUCK THAT
But you realize you can only do the main storyline quest once right and there are 8 other classes you can level... and only 2 of the others are going to get the side quest of the zones.I'm talking about the battle ones mostly.
You don't have to buy the game again; just download the new client. If you paid for ff14 before v2.0 can you just resume your subscription when v2.0 releases? or do you need to buy it all over again?
You get the ARR Collector's Edition items free if you have the original CE.Any benefit for purchasing an old copy of the game (preferably Collector's Edition) over the new 2.0 release?
