You need to download and install the game. You'll be walked through creating a Square Enix account or linking an existing account to your PSN ID. After that the game license will register itself to your SE account and your 30 days begin.

If you have a PS4 I think (NOT 100% SURE) you might be able to get 44 days of game time by downloading the Trial version (comes out next week in the US I believe) for the 14 day game time it comes with and then downloading the PS3 version once your trial is over to begin the 30 days included with the full game.
Thanks!

Nah the trial period ends whenever you start your real subscription. So even if you have trials days left they don't count.

It's because the EX Primals aren't hard at all. They have a very low learning curve and are not very punishing (aside from Titan EX's removing you from the fight). For people doing progression raiding, the primals are fairly trivial. They're not meant to be super challenging content.

I dunno. I always hear people saying Ramuh and Shiva are hard but I haven't done them so I don't know. Challenging is not the same as difficult though. Something can still challenge you even though it ultimately proves to be not that difficult. I don't think anyone is gonna just waltz through Titan Ex first time, raider or no. I was just highlighting that there is something in between braindead dungeons and Coil.

What we really need is for that guy who asked the question to join up so we can monitor his progress through the Ex Primals. Then we see if the raider rep is legit ha ha!

I like how in both of those pictures, Galen and Kagari are staring at their bows in disbelief, as if to say "What the fuck did you do to my harp-bow?".

I came back awhile ago and finally made it through t5. Is there any good guides for t6-8 post-nerf? I want to watch a video before I go in but everything I see is pre-nerf.

You can watch those guides still, a lot of the stuff is the same it's just that doing stuff wrong won't kill you. Although I guess for T7 it's pretty much the norm to have healers kite now?

Ramuh is only hard if people aren't coordinated enough to know when to pick up orbs, break tether and who's job it is to free people from Chaos. Having a Bard run bait makes it so much easier as well. Such a miserable fight though.

Shiva people just need to know their phases properly. That's it

I don't get why NPCs are getting so excited about replicas of weapons. It's not like they have the power of real things, just look the same. :(

After 6 hours of finding duties, I finally cleared turn 8. Super long queues and the fight itself being not very exciting made it quite hard.
I tried DFing turn 9 for a few hours after that and despite being able to get only to 40%, 5-11 minute waiting times give me hope of being able to clear it sometime soon.

Problem with Ramuh is that it requires a high level of coordination/understanding how the order of numbers works. Once you grasp the mechanics it's not that hard to do even with random people, but until then it's pure chaos, especially if a few people are new to the fight.
The only hard part about Shiva is standing in the right place after a few of her attacks. Still, someone new to the fight might easily wipe the party.

Can't maintain any interest in the game at all.
I guess I'll check out World of Darkness when that's out and then Heavensward.
Other than Final Coil, not much to do that isn't fluff.

Sort of getting there myself. Checking in for raids and not much else. Hoping They add something worth getting excited about.

They can't.

You have 2 options when balancing an MMO:

1) Grind
2) Gratification

When they create content, FF14 is a lot more on the gratification side than the grind side. Which means if you are an active player, you will eventually have nothing to do outside of weekly lockouts, but the ride to that point had more constant gratification. Do you want the alternative to that though? Where they increase the grind on everything, so you have "more to do" but that more to do may not be as fun as the time you spent getting to the point of completing all the content as you have now?

If I could cap in a day, I'd be so happy because it'd free me up to just do the bare minimum if need be and then log out to play other games.

I would say the relic quest is a good indication of the grind side, and the gratification isn't all that either. The coil weapons are better, maybe they will make the relic weapon 140 when the expac releases (or not)

Grind isn't "more to do" and skinnerbox wowclone isn't the only way to go about a multiplayer fantasy game.

They could add PVP that isn't anemic and dead. They could come up with some challenges and contests in Golden Saucer that would bring players together. More world content, of any kind, hunts were a good step in that direction. Coming back to content should be because it was fun and we want to do that again, not because of lockouts and progressbars. Just by adding more levels to a game it's not gonna become fundamentally more interesting.

One of the best moments of the game for me was Moonfaire when we got together, went to see some stupid minigames then all stood around in Limsa bombdancing and launching fireworks. That was fun.
Running Snowcloak for 100th time so I don't fall behind on poetics isn't.
Another time I had fun was when I bought three Nana Bears then presented them to the first people who came up to me and /waved. That was social interaction. That was fun. Farming 108 sealants so you can be proficient at crafting isn't fun, it's stupid.
And that's what all the updates are moving forward to, not towards creating types of gameplay that would bring people together in an interesting fashion but just adding more and more treadmills.
We'll see what FC airships are gonna turn out like I guess.

Which Coil weapons exactly? Dread or augmented? Because for some classes having enough points in det/crit on their relic will make the 125 relic better than the 130 augmented. Dread however, you would be right, but you're not seeing dread without people having 125/130 weps at this point.

Perfect Crit/Det on my SMN Relic is ~2 WD better than my Tome weapon if you convert the stats. This applies to almost every single weapon, really. Comparing it to the Dreadwyrm is silly since there's a 10 ilvl difference but they're most likely closer in stats than some Tome vs Dreadwyrm options are. There will most likely be a i135 upgrade before the expansion and it'll be the definitive best then.

I mean, you gotta imagine that the main group of devs are working on 3.0. Expecting new content or awesome content in 2.4 or 2.5 is kind of silly, since I'd rather them focus their resources on Heavensward and whatnot.

Let me rephrase, no, I don't consider the poetic weapons to be coil weapons. They are now, in a way, but we all know yosip will release the carbon and tomestones into the wild. Secondly, the relic weapons are better than some augmented weapons, but no dread weapons. Yoship has not shown that he will make the relic weapons significantly better than the T5, T9, T13 weapons. As in to what will make you say "I need to go through the (massive for ffxiv) grind to get that". Just not worth it.

By the end of January/ a couple of weeks into Feburary we'll have T13 beaten (hopefully if I don't fuck up much). I'll probably be on the nexus grind; so the time/money investment will not be enogh to justify being up to date on the relic. To me, for the relic weapon to be gratifying, it better damn well one shot T13. Otherwise, its just something to do.

Depends. If you're starting from scratch then, sure, it's not worth all the hassle to all-in for it right now. For those who had a Nexus going into it, though, this step is super lenient and it's a nice upgrade to over T12 weapons for people (aka, grats Tanks and Healers for having an option).

And, considering Nexus vs HA, we'll most likely get another step in 2.5 or 2.55.

Its probably at that point since...well almost all MMOs get to that point right before a major expansion hits, then the cycle starts all over.

Alright I finally made it to 50 last night and completed CM and Praetorium. My left side gear is all i50 except belt, but my accessories are all over the place from lvl 26-49. Should I go ahead and work towards the soldiery accessories now, or just try and get some from the dungeons? I would craft some, but my crafting classes are still in the mid 20s.
