LLDF is garbage for DPS unless you have a party. I've been leveling like three different DPS classes in the past week and it's always terrible unless you can get a healer and/or tank friend to queue with you.

For solo leveling it depends on the level, but as a DPS job and without a party to make dungeon queues fast, people usually do FATEs. If you have a lot of levequest allowances, I would look into any exploitable leves at whatever level you are at. E.g. if you are in the low 30s and trying to FATE level at Costa Del Sol, just do the "Out to Sea" leve over and over instead.

Once you get to Coerthas I guess things pick up a bit as there are always people doing FATEs there but you might need something to do as a break if that gets boring and your dungeon queues are 30m+. I try to save challenge log stuff for the 40s since I find those levels to be boring usually.

Thanks for the response.

Sounds not too much different than it used to be, just with much shittier duty finder queue times. Otherwise, that sounds almost identical to how it was when I leveled originally (FATE spamming and exploiting ones that you can).

I actually DID just get a queue to pop, ~25 min wait. Tank immediatelly logged off.

T9 down, finally. XD
I didn't see P3 before, but today I saw it and cleared t9 at the same time. :D.

Tried T10, reached P4, will try it later.

Is this noobie friendly? I'm thinking of trying this during the holidays to see if I like it as my first MMO. The game is on sale on the SE store and you get 30 free days with it. Is the job system easy to understand?

There's a 14 day trial you could check out to see if it's your cup of tea

It's my first MMO as well and the game did a god job with guiding me through all the important mechanics and systems. Never felt lost on my way to 50.

Quick question. My account is still eligible to put in someone's recruitment code, but do I need to be on the same server as them so they can get their bonus circlet/mount?

I've been trying to get into MMORPGs for years and FFXIV is so far the only one that has kept my attention for more than an hour. I've been playing for 6 or 7 hours now and I'm really enjoying it.

I hit 50 on my first class about 3 days ago. I'm a Monk.

I'm kind of lost as to what to do, now. I figured I would level the LNC to get the cross skills I need, but it's going slow as molasses since nobody is farming low-level fates and DF is about 30 minutes per queue.

Anyway, mainly what I want to learn is what gives the new-player soldiery bonuses I hear so much about? Is it only the roulettes, or all lv.50 duties? I tried a bit of google-fu but all I end up with is "this is the fastest way to get soldiery" topics.

Any advice as what to actually begin working on would be great, also. I still need to finish the story to unlock everything, but I would like to invite GAF people if there's a soldiery bonus in it for them, too. I just don't know what actually gives that bonus.

Remember to do the quest that unlocks the Challenge Log. It gives nice amounts of xp for doing stuff that you'd do anyway.

Thanks. I completely missed it. Does it reset? It seems like a waste to complete those challenges on a level 20.

Edit: I just read that it does reset. thanks again for telling me about it.

The 50 and end-game dungeons / trials etc. give sol tomes. Elite hunts also do, so if you can find a good hunt linkshell that's a pretty fast way of getting some sometimes.

They're making a fire a DoT?

The last slide is talking about how they want weapons, armour, defense, etc. to be more affected by the damage type they are doing. It makes it sound like they might actually make elements matter, e.g. fire or ice doing more to specific enemies.

Also if they change the way the current rotation works, like in those proposed examples, they need to change MP regen method.

And D speaks to the element thing saying maybe elemental materia use might increase now.

The rotation is planned to be changed to be more of a generic "One element -> Another element" rather than purely Ice / Fire swaps. And, yeah, all translations I've seen have basically been about elemental type / resists will be relevant.

I'm all for BLM rotation changes, if SE feels it's for the best. It might be nice to try something new for a change [since I've been, more-or-less, doing the exact same thing since I hit Level 50 over a year ago].
