Yesterday I started leveling up my ARC to finally get Quelling Strikes (don't judge me). Got from 15 to 29 and wow, this class is so much easier/less annoying to play than BLM. If not for all those items that I worked so hard for, I'd consider dropping my main for something that doesn't have to stand in place for a few seconds before doing anything.

That is pretty annoying, but I still somewhat enjoy the MP management game of BLM. BRD is fun but for some reason the constant buffing and dot application gets boring IMO. I know it all comes down to just pressing action buttons but there's something less satisfying about keeping track of so many buffs and debuffs to me.

And not sure why anyone would judge for quelling strikes. Isn't it extremely easy to get enmity as blm, at least for aoe rotation?

The mobility of a BRD is enjoyable and loved, thats why there are so many BRDs.

I found BLM a bit boring due the fire spam.

SMN is more complex imo and there for more fun. And lvl a SMN means getting a SCH!

SCH is a master class

I mean judging me because I've been maining BLM since the release and yet I still don't have QS :p

I tried the trial of this on pc and ps4 and I love it on ps4. My pc sucks so this game is at like <20 fps on low. I prefer to get the digital version on ps4 since its already installed thanks to the trial and I don't want to have to keep taking discs out. Does the ps4 digital version on the ps store come with a free month just like the disc version on amazon?

Created a new FC on Ultros dedicated to Crafting called the Freemasons - Mason. Once I grind Rank to Rank 6 and buy a Large House in Gridinia I'm going open it up for Recruitment :)

I left LUMI on good terms, Jade had so many messages from friends asking what happened. Should take me about a week to reach Rank 6

Judged.

Are you going to alt BRD now or just stay with BLM?
Stay with BLM, probably. For the 12 or more years of playing mmos I've been always playing casters (PSO2 aside) so I'll stick with it. I also like to be able to heal and do some good damage mitigation when things go downhill.

Ugh, I've got a few weeks off until the spring semester starts...should I reactivate my subscription...I haven't played since at least early summer =/

Until YoshiP came along during 2.4 by nerfing our gear and stacking it with Spell Speed.

Blub. I don't care that much, just curious. I'll just use my enmity position to judge how well I'm doing ( ≖‿≖)

I know you're probably kidding but, seriously, don't actually do this :x

While I do complain about this pretty much every day, it's not like I can't DPS or something because of it. I'm still looking at 500+ DPS in every FCoB turn in my BiS despite losing ~100 points to Spell Speed instead of Crit/Det.

Sure, my ceiling isn't closer to 600 (at least, until 2.51's Zodiac+1 and maybe the WoD Crit/Det dream) but oh well.

500? Lol: i'm a terrible smn then. But, I also don't do fcob and only have an animus.

Haha, can't be that bad altho running out of mana on a smn is pure shit..

I've accepted that if my MP looks like it won't last, I will lose some DPS with an Energy Drain to speed up an add phase in the short term. So T11 Egg gets 2x Fester, 1x ED, T12 (when 5 Bennu) had 1-2 during Bennuland, and T13 Zoo I'll ED before deadtime just so I can pop Aetherflow sooner.

...that said, I DO have Piety on my Zodiac that accounts for somewhere around 400-ish MP in an average fight. I run dangerously low occasionally so it's actually amazing to me how 20-ish Piety basically extends my fight duration by around a minute or so. I'm totally planning on some crafted i110 accessories with Crit/Det/Piety and maybe even fixing my Zodiac to full Det/Piety (leftover Crit) to see if I can push it to ~600 MP extra in a fight.

500? Lol: i'm a terrible smn then. But, I also don't do fcob and only have an animus.

~470 @i120 with Zodiac is my best on T10/T11 so 500+ is fairly reasonable with that last 10 ilvl and Dreadwyrm book / Zodiac+1 (+ optimizing left to do). T12 has been weird recently but earlier kills I've been at 450 which seems "low" with the amount I can pad early off Blackfire and Bennuland.

~440 is my T13 best so far I think (last kill was 428) but it's counting a lot of dead time in a single-segment parse so I think it's reasonable. So few SMN parses to compare it against, though. Still, I benefit a lot with the Zoo here so I should be able to get this closer to my T10/T11 numbers after fixing Phase 2 mistakes. Zoo -> Final Phase transition is a sad flat 20 seconds of 0 DPS though ;__;

More than class overhauls, I'd much rather see more gear customization in Heavensward.

For starters:

- Materia slots in dungeon gear (perhaps only allowing crafted gear to be overmelded)
- Accuracy and Spell/Skillspeed made more worthwhile (ie. accuracy could also give critical hit damage so it's not wasted when you hit the cap, and spell/skillspeed could reduce MP/TP costs at a similar percentage)
- Set armor and bonuses

Also been replaying FF6 of late, and it makes me want a relic equipment slot in FFXIV. They could try and experiment with more interesting effects with relics, such as proc effects, lifeleech, etc., or even create flavor items like "Sprint Shoes" that would increase our out of combat movement speed by double or something.

Jobs could also use more customization options, but I'd be fine if they just open up the # of cross-class abilities. Maybe just get rid of the 2-subclass restriction for each job. Down the road as Square introduces more and more jobs, it's going to be very limiting if the first nine 2.0 jobs are still stuck with the same 2 sub-classes.

Thanks for the reply, trying to buy the digital version now but it keeps saying I already own it even though I just downloaded and installed the trial so its not letting me buy the game.
You may need to uninstall the game. You can also check to see if you can buy it on the actual sony website that might work.

Spent a good part of the day leveling ARC and I'm really loving it. Hoping to get level it as quickly as possible so I can continue with the main story/scenario.

Aha I saw that earlier because I always see you in Gridania! I was like "Something's different about Jade!" Good luck with the grind

Thanx! I've been going non-stop all day, Gathering more than Crafting. Reached 1/2 way through Rank 4! I'm creating an HQ mat stash like no other. Need MOAR Tawny Latex!

Can anyone recommend an inexpensive keyboard\mouse for the ps4 version? I just can't stand controller anymore for targetting and pulling up the map

Logitech typically has decent ones.

Ty, ordered a high rated wireless combo for only $20. No idea how I'm going to play with it though since the only table I can put between me and the tv will be right at my knees when sitting in my gaming chair so I'll be bent forward. I can't just stand using the menus and targetting on the ps4 controller though =\

I use a PS3 controller.
Intend to swap to a PS4 controller eventually.
Heard they're comfy

They are, but pressing left and right 100 times to target the mob you want to pissed me off after 2 days. Also since I plan on being a healer I'm guessing it'll slow down my heals too much end game

If you set your targeting filters properly it becomes far less of a problem, especially if you use R2+L1 to switch targets so you don't have to drop your trigger to change targets.

Also, you can cycle your party list with the up and down buttons so healing on a controller is quite easy. Some people say controllers are scrub tier but honestly if you're good and have your filters set rivht they don't hold you back at all.

I really like the c ontroller when im just running around killing stuff, i think ill use it for farming and mouse\keyboard for talking and more serious stuff. i think its the 10 years of wow thats making me use a keyboard

Yeah I'd like it as well but SE is probably too conservative with server side stuff as it is. See: retainers.

They did it with PS3 -> PS4.

I suppose they could be using the PSN TSS for that, but I'm guessing it's something more basic, like... the settings are saved in different formats or something.
