I think some were 4-5 hours before.

From what I've seen, I might have been lucky with all my books but they're rarely more than 1h30 to 2hours or so. The thing though is there's a limited amount of FATEs that can be up in a specific area of a zone, and if you don't clear the other FATEs, it takes a ton longer cause they have to despawn first. There also might be a priority system where certain FATEs have priority over others(the shorter cd ones), which makes it stupidly long if you just afk in one spot. When I was farming my books I was always chain clearing FATEs while spiritbinding and yeah I don't think I've had to wait too long on any of them.

That's just judging from my experience though, and that's what I've seen in Coerthas also when leveling there on multiple chars. Every FATEs that's in the "leveling" area rotate fairly fast, but stuff that's in the south west or far west most people don't bother going there and that's why Seps or the Tower one can take a long time.

That said, 1h30-2hours of farming FATEs for each FATE is obviously not a short time regardless. The only good part was spiritbinding as I said, I got many many sets done while I was doing Atmas then Books.

After not playing any mmos for 10 years or so, I'm thinking of getting into one, this one in particular.

If I buy say, the PC version and I also want to play on ps3 (and later, ps4) how would that work? From a steam question it seems I would have to buy both versions but my subscription would stack (so I would get 60 days from the boxes). Is that how it works? Someone mentioned downloading the demo and being allowed to play his pc subscription from there.

Is it reasonable to expect that when the expansion hits, there will be a bundle for both the game and the expansion? How did FFXI handle it? I would like to play now but I can wait. I am also slightly annoyed with myself suddenly getting interested in this right after it was on sale for 50% off.

I think this is correct, I'm not 100% sure though.

Final Fantasy 11 had a yearly game bundle with expansions, I fully expect something similar.

You have to buy a copy for each (PC, PS3 and PS4). There is a free PS3 -> PS4 upgrade but that is only available until the end of March.

Just a note though: If you get the trial from steam, you can't use the physical PC code to upgrade it.

I'm upto like level 12 or so now on the ps4 and I'm getting better at figuring out its weird map system to do my quests... I'm also getting much better with the ps4 controller thanks to finding out about targeting filters. I'll just get rid of the mouse and stick to the keyboard for guild chat\etc. =] I wish I didn't just add 2 months to my wow sub 3 days ago =\ I guess I'll use wow to pvp for 2 more months.

Know I'm late with saying this but I do appreciate the GAF FC carrying me through Titan EX tonight. Just wish that big fucker didn't send me to my doom during the final phase. With that out of the way, I can finally try out the other EX Primals

How did it feel to be carried? :)

Really tempted to get back into this. Stopped playing few weeks before Shiva came out due to a very busy schedule for me. Never got to do T9 :( Main thing stopping me from playing again is having to catch up. I came back from a 3 month break and didn't realize Ramuh was out and had to farm tomes, hunts etc to be up to date with everyone else. Needless to say it was a pain and having to do that all over again is a turn off. I miss my Scholar ;(

I gotta roll with you on Leviathan.

I've become a true believer in Rapid Synth. I don't know why I allowed people to convince me it sucked, but I've seen the light.

If your 3 star and up recipe is not using Rapid Synth, you're doing it wrong.

I got the game last week, and like an idiot I forgot to check what server gaf was playing on ;_; All by my self.... don't wanna be..... ALL BY MYSELF!!!!

I'm loving the game though, I've already put in more hours then any other mmo, I think having it on a console really makes it a more casual experience so it's been easier for me to get into.

Everyone who pretty much carried me through Turn 9 for free and were totally fine with it (
at least that's what it looked like
)... I can't thank you enough. I've been dealing with jerks on the PF and {/shrug} on the DF for I don't know how long

Also, not sure if it was my fault, but I saw the third Heavensfall happen for the first time ever, so I bet it was totally worth it for everyone. :D

Is there any particular reason the FC3 market would have picked up substantially in the past week or so? I'm up like eight million in the past week from nothing but shoe explosions.

I'm trying and failing to come up with a reason 2.5 would have caused this. not that I mind; it's helping counteract the price hikes in the materia market.

Got the game 3 days ago and played it all weekend. Amazed at how polished the game is and playing a full fledged mmo like this on a console with a controller is a totally new experience for me. Really surprised with how well the controller works too.
ps: I played all weekend on the wrong server too just created a new character on Ultros right now. :p

They're still the same price? Unless they droped to under 45-50k for a while before, they've been that price since I resubbed. If you mean why they're selling faster, I don't know, I know I bought like 30 last week to craft master II books and other random stuff, I don't see the market dying entirely unless no one levels crafting anymore, and with xmas/new year, holidays and stuff I assume some people like me resubbed and feel like doing some crafting.

The waiting times for the relic books fates are beyond ridiculous.

I've been doing one relic book per day, already on my fourth book. The fates are what takes the longest time and it's insane how long they take.
Luckily, I keep myself busy while waiting for fates as I will either watch a movie or do something while the map is up and waiting for that fate to pop.

I thought of doing something productive while waiting too, and then I just browsed GAF.

PC users can have visual bars and voice callouts telling you when cooldowns are about to pop? Wao babby's first handheld MMO.
