Because, why not, I'm bored.

Wishlist for ability adjustments I'd like to see in the expansion. Only listing issues I consider to be fairly glaring.

1: Fix Holmgang. (No bind effect if target resists bind.)

2: Try to break moves with numerous effects into multiple moves. Good example, Elusive Jump, or Holmgang. Presumably they'll be adding a few moves to each class, so the expansion would be a good time to do this.

3: Adjust less used abilities to actually be useful. Example, Haymaker, maaaaaybe Keen Flurry.

To be clear, I'm not expecting all of this to happen. It seems especially unlikely that they'll adjust Holmgang, considering that's been an issue since day one, and they haven't adjusted it so far.

If you think YoshiP will actually adjustment something to be useful, then lol.

SMN's are still sitting on Tri-Disaster, which is amazingly useless.

Well, some abilities would be easier to make useful than others. For example, Haymaker would at least be situationally useful, if the trigger was something other than dodging an attack. Granted, most enemies are immune to Slow at endgame, but still, it'd at least be useful against all two enemies that aren't immune, I guess.

Edit: Or heck, just make it an off GCD Cooldown, then it's useful even when enemies are immune.

What would they break Elusive Jump into? The only thing they need to do is reduce the cool down time.

I just use Elusive Jump for maximum STYLISH Points.

Emnity reduction without having to risk leaping off a cliff, into a fireball, divebomb, landslide, or into an electric fence,

Î think he means one ability to drop threat and one to jump away straight into landslides. But really the threat drop is fairly pointless to begin with so it doesn't need its own ability. Threat is really very easily managed by DPS by simply not hitting your strongest ability before the tank hit with a threat move, it's not really rocket science and that's literally all there is to it, since after the initial move, there's few cases where the tank isn't just gonna out threat every DPS over every move(though I guess BRD and BLM can get streaks of procs and still grab aggro a few second later).

LiQuid!

I proudly and openly admit to wishing death upon the mothers of people I don't like

All of those things are the ultimate in enmity reduction so I think the ability now is working as intended.

Oh, no, I've ripped hate off Tanks as DRG before, and this was after they had enough time to get their enmity rotations off. Granted, as a Warrior I far more often have an issue with BLM's without quelling strikes, but if you're aware they don't have quelling you can adjust.

Oh I'm tanking again after a swap in static.
I haven't tanked in coil in so long it's like even the most basic things I'm oblivious to.

More like Critical Ripping farts right gu... oh god I'm dead.

About to start the GLD, MAR, and CNJ classes. So I know to put my attribute points for GLD/MAR towards vitality, but what about CNJ?

Mind for CNJ. And I'd say STR for GLD/MRD, at least for leveling, but if you dungeon almost exclusively then VIT is fine. You'd have to respec at 50 anyway as you'd probably want VIT until you get some gear.

If you think it will help you level GLD/MRD faster, you can just put points in Strength and change it later.

Tried to do tanking in Final Coil, found it pretty darn boring. I'd rather do it as Monk or Scholar instead but I need to level up my omnilex a bit more before I can do Final Coil...

That's pretty much every tanking encounter in XIV though sadly enough.
I still enjoy it more than other jobs though. I like being tank.

Ifrit is a gross holdover of the 1.0 pre YoshiP era Soken where no one was there to tell him to REDO REDO.
Poor soken
Hell I don't even know if you could really credit Soken with that. I don't even remember seeing his audioblog start mentioning song creation till YoshiP came aboard and we got sneak peeks of new music before each patch through his little blurbs.

Simply the worst song in the game bar none.

Is this a joke post? Ifrits theme is fine. It actually got the best rearrangement on the Astral to umbral album of the band songs.

I hope I will eventually reach a point where tanking will feel boring. At this point, it's more like stressful and intense. The only other time I get as stressed is when I am healing and the tank decides to make huge pulls even after I ask them not to. I am still new to healing, so it really stresses me out when this happens.

That's a shitty tank.

Only jobs that should take hate off a PLD is an equal WAR in defiance, or a medica 2 spamming WHM. Sure, there's always a chance within the first 10-15 seconds if the BLM or healer goes crazy, especially if it's grabbing an add with snap aggro, but after your first full enmity rotation? That means they are doing something wrong.

Also sure, there may be a moment in a dungeon where you are conserving MP for next pull (or TP as a warrior) and mis-guage time to kill vs enmity ratio (especially when 1 DPS sucks and 1 DPS is good), and lose hate for a brief moment to a BLM or something, but that's it. I rarely see that too when you do proper rotation cycling.

Ahh, sounds like you're doing dungeons more than trials or raids. Well, I certainly don't think tanking is boring, but I usually OT, so I'm often just a spare DPS when I don't need to pick something up.

MT, well that's not boring, but the dynamic is a bit different than it is for DPS classes.

Eh, I found most the Final Coil stuff to be the most fun encounters as a tank.

...well, T10 is pretty straightforward but T11 at least has Resonance timing (unless you jsut sit both tanks there) and then T12/T13 are primarily tank mechanics.

Yeah my PLD and WAR are only lvl 32, so I have been mostly doing dungeons so far. I just need to work on my rotations and gain more confidence. That has been the problem as much as anything else so far.

If I remember correctly, 32 is a difficult level for PLD, you don't get Shield Oath until Level 40, and Shield Oath makes is FAR easier hold hate and to survive big attacks, or many mobs.

Not so difficult for Warriors, since we get Defiance at level 30, and that's equivalent to Shield Oath.

Alright just created my character in the Ultros world... Holy shite this is daunting, this is pretty much my first MMO. Is it ok to ask people lots of questions, as in ransoms in the world?

Nemesis is a better track than Ifrit's Primal Justice.

Ifrit feels like the generic track you'd hear to most any boss.
But again, tastes will differ so I'll leave it at that.

Shout chat may be hit and miss, but join the GAF FC and ask all the questions you want.
