I don't know about that last bit, especially if you're in the FC. The last two turns, sure, but 10 and 11 get pugged with OK frequency and GAF's pretty consistently had something going Monday nights (although I have apparently gained weight recently and become too heavy to carry through 11, RIP.) Without knowing specifics of the server transferred from it's hard to make a definitive statement, but at least getting your feet wet in 10/11 isn't really tough for GAF orphans.

There's quite a few people who still need T9 clears too. (To be fair alot of these people need to be alot more proactive about it too instead of waiting every Friday night with fingers crossed)

First: Warrior self heals are best used for topping off your HP, and you can't always use them properly since you often NEED to hold onto stacks for attacks you're expecting soon.

Second: the way said healers describe it, our life bars bounce around more dramatically. I suspect the shield block is at least some small part of this, but I somehow doubt that is all of it.

Third: Again, if PLD ends up working better for most groups, I don't think it's entirely inappropriate to classify them as the better main tank class. I can understand why you wouldn't agree with that, as it's an oversimplification. However, most people in my experience want the simplified answer.

T9 in particular is a tricky one because it's so convoluted and segmented, and generally trying to put together a T9 clear group draws out people with little to no T9 experience who expect it to work like 6-8. But if you bring in too many new people you're probably going to run out of steam before making it out of Heavensfall, which is a problem for people stuck in final phase hell. Add in that final phase success is super reliant on having one or more people who can mark (or call with premark) divebombs, and it's awkward and the clear groups wind up consistently relying on the same relatively small section of the FC.

Ideally there would need to be a delineation between learning groups and clear groups wIthin the FC, but on some level that relies on people being able to honestly assess their own abilities and what they can realistically help with/expect to complete. Like, if you've never seen golems pls no volunteer for clear group.

It's also problematic because my brain still flat out locks up in the T9 final phase frequently so I'm really hesitant to volunteer to help because by the end of the fight I'm mostly focused on making sure I'm the only one I get killed.

But proactivity is key--I think it'd be easier to get clear groups together if people were going in and learning at least most of the fight independently, so the group is more providing the final boost over the wall instead of picking people up and chucking them over it.

Got the Encrypted tomestone today. We had 2 pugs (our static is missing 2 since eons ago; that's why we can't proceed further than T12) and since our MT rolled a 3 and was the only one from the static missing it, my raid leader told me to loot with the pugs.

Gonna use it so hard on my BRD next week. I want that Gundam cannon.

That final phase is some bs

Fuck you Mr. D

Uh not that it's any of my business but your group is wondering why you're 30 minutes late for final coil right now.

How about you just say PLD is easier to play, and WAR takes more skill but is a bit better overall for it? There's simplified answers and then there is going too far and outright being wrong.

The average BRD in the community puts out better DPS numbers than the average MNK. Therefore, BRD is the best DPS class in the game.

So I just resubscribed (in the form of purchasing the PS3 version for the free 30 days + free PS4 upgrade, even though I'll end up playing on PC anyway) and realized I've purchased a new phone since playing last. That means I don't have my security token. It doesn't look like I ever wrote down my Emergency Removal Password. I'm screwed until I can talk to customer support tomorrow, aren't I?

EDIT: On another note, the PS3 download was not valid because I still had the beta installed. I'm able to download it on my PS4 though. Weird. Hopefully those 30 days have been added to my account.

Here's a War tank question

Mr. Happy said that if you can hit 9k health on War with no Defiance, you should put your points in STR.

that true or Mr Happy just bein' Mr. Happy?

edit: I also thought WAR was harder to heal?

BRDs owe their success to Disembowel.

10% is pretty nice, but is it worth taking a DRG for?

What I read was 10k with defiance, which is about the same I think? It's around that yeah, at some point you might as well stack str for threat/damage as getting more hp doesn't really do anything.

And WARs aren't harder to heal.

Ok. Someone in the sale thread said if you do it right, you should get 30 free days twice by buying the PS3 license, then upgrading to PS4.

I may test that just for the heck of it.
It won't work. You only get 30 days with the purchase of a new platform, the upgrade doesn't come with an extra 30 days. You'll only get the 30 days that come with purchasing the PS3 version.
What happens if I buy a digital copy of XIV off PSN when I've been playing on disc? Do I have to download everything again or what?

AFAIK you need to delete a disc install before it'll let you download/launch the digital version. If you try to install it on top of the disc install it'll just spit out an error.

Oh well! It's still 30 days; basically getting the PS4 version for free, 12 bucks for the PS3 version is a month's sub.

Cross post with the trailer thread. Man patch looks so good If only I had time to play it more =(. Ah well the content will last me longer this way I guess.

Blame Makoto. He brings bard loot.
Blame or thank? [You are welcome, by the way!]

I also bring caster loot, who knew?

Still no Dreadwyrm Staff, however. That being said, the Dreadwyrm Puffy Pants are a definite upgrade. I was still using the High Allagan ones. -_-

I seem to have somehow deleted my FFXIV install from my PS4. D: That trailer made me really wanna play, too.

Chocobo racing looks better than expected. Triple Triad...makes me hopeful for a Shuffle and Boogie remix to listen to.

Seven days to catch up to the story. Pretty excited. :D

yeah i'm quite impressed by chocobo racing just judging from the trailer, looks pretty fun
i'll probably try it out at least once

Got to 69% in T9 through Duty Finder tonight, I'll pick it up once more tomorrow afternoon. If I run a DF/PF once or twice a day, I should eventually gather enough experience to be useful in a future GAF run.

However, Alexandrite and levelling my crafting jobs will take priority over non-stop runs of T9 for the time being. :V

So, I was looking through the trailer again, and, well, that Dragoon they show near the end, well, this isn't certain of course, but seeing as this DRG's armor is black, I think it might be the Dragoon from the class quest story line.

Would that make the dragon at the end of the trailer, Nidhogg?

WAR master job, paladin is meh! As the HP question for warriors. I run tull strenght jewels in T10 because we dont tank swap the boss so im almost always dpsing apart from the adds so that puts me at 9.3k. As for T11 i gave up on timing the reso and i go full vit jewels that put me at 11,7k but it feels like overkill im str spec anyway.

Also some people say you dont need much hp for t12 but the bennus can be a pain and also the phoenix sometimes does some big crits on me so i swap some vit out for str stuff like 3/2.

As for 13 i go full tank mode cuz its progression there.

Our SCH prefs to heal me and finds the large hp pool very effective with correct mitigation.

Pld is like stated before the tank to choose if you got no clue what buttons to press

I already have a PC account but I haven't been able to play and my subscription lapsed. I've seen someone say that if you get a ps3 copy of the game added to your account you get 30 days added to the account. Is that true?

Because then I could do the upgrade to PS4 and get some game time in one fell swoop, and with that sale going on this is a pretty great time to do it

Well, I figured he might appear in the future segmentsof the drg class quest, not the main...

Because, well, not everyone played the drg class quest.

He's a pretty famous dragon among the XI fanbase. DRG storyline also established him as a very powerful force. Combine that with DRG being front and center of Heavensward, Nidhogg is coming.

Yeah yeah, it'll just be odd for people that see this all in the main line quest first, only to go back and do the Dragoon quest later.

Had a strange server issue where we only had 3 people in a duty finder mission, a 4th player never showed up and we couldn't even kick the ghost.

We did it though, thankfully the 4th was a dps.

Yeah that happened to us in Quarn HM the other day. Managed with WAR, SCH and a DPS but can't, for the life of me, remember what dps it was..prob NIN :p

I ran into a problem too, it was late so i had to check the always recording ps4 video. to make sure i seen what i thought i did.

I went to check out some glasses on the MB and when i went to try them on, my guy just jumped and floated out the window, and wouldnt come back when i went back to retry something else on. he was just like " Nope, I am out of here "

Here is the Clip

( I do not think it is against the rules to show the clip.)
