Isn't the issue that you won't see your Firestarter proc in time because you will immediately go into Blizzard without delay. Therefore you need to cast it when you go back to fire and you would do transpose before to boost the damage.

Surecast or any other ability will force the FS proc to appear ASAP. That's fireweaving...I think.

I've been leveling up my armorer class since my leves capped, is leveling up the armorer to level 50 worth it for end game stuff?

Not really. At 40 you get to repair mostly tank armor (which can also be done during a dungeon, which is a huge win) just buy Grade 5 black matter.

It's better to level all the classes to 15 first and then get Culinary to 37 for the best cross class skills. If you get everything at 40 you can repair everything in dungeon. Actually you can over repair up to 199% condition, which again is great.

If you really wanna get to end game crafting, getting all of them to 50 is just the first step, expect to spend several million gil melding stuff and getting equipment.

In related news I just got my Fisherman to 50 last night. I was able to buy a bunch of the leve fish super cheap so it didn't take very long, just leve intensive, but who cares about that?

Now I'm seriously thinking about making the Forager set, if only it was that easy to get BOT to 50 as well. It's just so boring I can't be bothered to do it.

Even gil sellers are getting in the 2.5 spirit.

•An issue in “The World of Darkness” wherein players could not leave the “Belly of the Beast” area after defeating Cerberus.

Thank fuck.
I remember beating him when we were still inside like 4 runs in a row and it's like... He's not even in the field anymore. Are we in stomach limbo?

It's been months and that Bahamut cinematic still hasn't been uploaded on youtube.

Is Square nuking accounts that upload it?

Yep. They don't want anyone else watching it unless you actually beat T12 (that's when the cinematic happens).
The only way you can watch it is if you beat it yourself.
Out coil group just recently saw it and we were awestruck at the awesomeness of it.

any end game blms can point out whether it's better to fireweave the last fire before blizzard 3 or just do normal blizzard 3 and then transpose if you have firestarter proc?
as in fire > surecast (for example) > immediately press fire 3 and then blizzard 3 as compared to fire > blizzard 3 > thunder 1 > transpose > fire 3?

If you go to Fireweave and miss it's roughly a 4.6-ish potency loss and a 5.8-ish gain if it hits. So you're net negative if you factor the chances (60%, 40% respectively) though crits really change the math here. Basically, with a good enough crit chance, you're coming out positive but it's not a massive difference (e.g., ~1 potency).

If you're watching MP ticks, you could probably go for it if you finish the last fire on an MP tick since the ~.5s delay from an oGCD + Blizzard 3 cast puts you basically at an MP tick the moment you gain Umbral Ice. Means you can T2 -> Fire 3 as your Umbral step instead on a missed Fireweave.

That said, not actually a BLM so it's just math to me.

The follow-up to the masterpiece "Take Cleric Stance away from healers", "Healers don't need Swiftcast"

More at 11.

Who knew you'd only ever use Swiftcast with rez.

Your math is spot on. In practice, I don't bother with the fire weave at the end. If you are lucky with procs and crits then your DPS will go up slightly more than it was already going to, if you are unlucky it will decrease slightly more than it was going to. Personally, I'd rather have a smaller range of where my DPS can fall because that helps me set a better expectation of where a bosses health should be at a particular time.

If I had to guess, it was a more common thing when Crit reigned a bit more supreme. At 25%/30% crit rates, it's in the "always a gain (eventually)" realm. Though I'm not entirely sure if you can even get to those values so it might have been purely a theoretical thing.

Math aside, I'd just go with skipping the Fireweave since it doesn't "feel" any smoother in the playstyle. You're still interrupting your ABCs at that point except now it's with a hard-enforced animation lock instead of just choosing to sit there. It does speed up the display of the Firestarter buff but you still lose time overall.

Yesterday I tried T9 for about 6 hours, between fighting and finding parties (requesting EXP on last phase). I memorized the whole 4th phase rotation and knew what to do.

I managed to get 4 parties during that time. Some of the good players I know were busy with their statics, so things were slower than usual.

First party, we got to 10%. After 4 tries, people had to leave. Second and third parties were not really good, so we couldn't beat it too.

Fourth party was nice, we got to 15% twice, but someone always made a mistake. I've managed to dodge everything in almost all tries, but it's hard to dodge your friend thunderstrucking the entire party.

Then, when I gave up for the day, a farm party appeared in PF. I ask the leader to join, and he accepts me. We get to final phase, I get fire out, thunderstruck and divebomb. Wasn't expecting that, so I misplaced the divebomb. Next try, 10%, someone thundestrucks the party.

Someone got a stomachache and would need to leave. Stays for another pull. 7%, I'm fucking sweating. People don't stack for Thermionic. Both healers are dead. Party leaves.

;-;

You also end up using stuff you might need. I mean, Surecast you don't really need, but then what, do you really want to use mana wall or mana ward just to check for a firestarter proc? You don't really want to virus either because poop virus and it puts the debuff on the mob for 1min, most mobs are immune to slow so you can't use that either, so like, yeah. It's not even a massive loss regardless as long as you transpose before you fire III coming out of blizzard.

We should get GARF to help you get passed T9. Id be willing to tank it (only single tank) if others can get in on it.

Don't take my Swiftcast away from me ;___;.

Also re-ran AK hard mode last night after the maintenance. It definitely is the shortest of the three expert dungeons, IMO.

Only advice I can offer on t13 1% wipes is to take an extra second to handle the mechanics. A death is way worse then 1 extra second of down time. You'll down it soon

So what's the best way to grind Soldiery tomes? I just hit level 50 last night and it seems like that's what I should be doing.

I'm assuming you haven't unlocked high level or expert roulette yet if you just hit 50, right?

Definitely work on unlocking those hard mode dungeons (definitely Wanderer's Palace and Amdapor Keep to begin with, I'd think). You'll get bonus tomes because it's your first time :). And some good gear in those dungeons. Hard mode primals as well!

Also, doing the main scenario roulette once a day (which you definitely have now) will guarantee you at least 120 soldiery per day!

Congrats on 50 btw :3

Ok, I'll work on unlocking those then, thanks. I'm doing my relic quest but the FATE I'm on is too difficult solo. I read they get easier the next time it spawns if no one finishes it, is that true?

Anytime :).

Umm.. I think that's definitely the case for the Odin FATE.. But someone else would need to confirm if that's the case for all others! I do know that FATEs that are failed tend to respawn rather quickly for the purpose of retrying it!

I doubt we're on the same server (Leviathan), but I would help if we were! X_X

Random question, but does anyone here play BRD on a ps3/ps4? And if so, would it perhaps be possible to see or get an explanation of what your hotbar(s) look like? ^^;

What a weird edit. At least you made it though because obviously you were hitting enrage.

Well the logic is that we wouldn't have even seen enrage start if people didn't start panicking around the fifth akh morn and failing to execute mechanics we've been doing for the last 13 minutes. It's not like "Oh no, we're hitting enrage, better scramble and put out all the dps, oh wait I got megaflared while trying to do that", it's more like "We died and now we lack the 20-30k damage and now enrage is starting and that's gg folks".

I guess by a strict definition we did hit enrage.

I've got a bit of a problem. My friend discovered his computer had been hacked so he did an OS reinstall, which wiped everything including his FFXIV client. He needs to re-enter his registration key, the problem being he doesn't have one, because I was the one who bought him his PC version and he disposed of the registration code on the receipt immediately after registering his game. Is he boned or is there a way to reclaim the code from Gamestop. Maybe a proof of purchase thing? Though I'm feeling like he's boned.

Does mogstation or the SE account services not have that stuff? I'm too lazy to check on my own but outside of that I guess try SE support?

If he had already registered the serial code why does he need to enter it again? You just need to log in using your SE account, the license should already be tied to it. If you forgot these login and password though...
