Are there other people out there who don't consider Chocobo Racing and Triple Triad to be part of Gold Saucer? The sooner we move on from WolvenOne's daily post of confusion, the better.

This whole Gold Saucer conversation has lowered my expectations of everything. Good job. Somebody send Krael a linkshell invite.

AND GET GAF'D

This could only end in more salt.

Also, I expect #TeamLowExpectations to disappoint me with greater level of competency than they would otherwise suggest

I don't consider Triple Triad as a part of gold saucer but only because it's the new end game content. Forget coil turns or whatever garbage, it's all about the heart of the cards now.

Well the video showed you walking up to NPC's all over for triple triad, I assumed you could play against other players outside of Gold Saucer using a similar method, cause, really, going to GS everytime you want to play a quick game would be limiting.

I thought I heard that you queued up for Choco Racing via a Duty Finder, though maybe it's a Choco Racing specific Duty Finder that you can only reach by walking up to that one stand. (Which would strike me as hecka inelegant but, whatevs.)

Really, I thought that stand was just for initially unlocking Racing, and maybe collecting rewards.

What do either of those things have to do with anything? Sure, you can play triple triad with an NPC anywhere or queue for a race anywhere. What makes you think you can only earn GS points when you are standing in GS.

I can't wait for Tonberry to crash the hell out of Gold Saucer.
The other day S rank disconnected Central Shroud with everyone in it and they couldn't log in at all while all the other maps worked fine.

I associate the mini-games which you can only play in GS, as being the Gold Saucer games. The stuff you can queue up for or play anywhere, are in my mind, independent enough that they're essentially independent features. If you don't agree with that, perception, so the flip what? What does it matter?! It effects absolutely nothing!

Why argue about this? What does it matter one way or the other? Why is it, that people insist on arguing, about the most inane pointless crap ever!

(Grr Face) (I don't like arguments!!)

You made a silly statement based on a personal misconception of what is and is not Golden Saucer content.

You've proceeded to double down on why your statement was true for you, even if it's not necessarily true for everyone, or something. I dunno.

You make posts semi frequently that are on the surface flat-out wrong, then proceed to vigorously defend your position as valid if everyone just accepts base concepts you've more or less made up.

None of it actually for-real matters, and I doubt anyone is particularly invested, but it's a message board. Say not true things, people will argue and won't change their mind just because you personally chose to disassociate Golden Saucer content from the Golden Saucer.

Also I am an hour and forty-two minutes away from a three day weekend. Will literally do anything to avoid working in that time.

I'm, not. I never come onto here looking to start an argument.
I hate arguments.

If Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing aren't considered Gold Saucer games, my Mandervilleman Insurance will not cover the losses.

LET'S DO THIS

Anyone know if gold saucer is tied in to hildy missions. I rather not do anymore of them
They won't be connected.

Is the current Agent of Enquiry quest a lead-in to the Manderville Gold Saucer content coming in patch 2.51?
Y: Hildibrand has no particular relevance to the Gold Saucer.

So completing the Hildibrand quests won't be a prerequisite to accessing Gold Saucer?
Y: That's right. They are just quests designed to be cleared casually. Once the patch is released, you'll be able to enter immediately.

Well, my impression so far inclines me to say that Triple Triad and Chocobo Racing are activities that you can do out of Gold Saucer, but are functionally based in Gold Saucer.

So, while you can challenge NPCs and other players out in the world to Triple Triad games, or perhaps queue for a chocobo race in the Duty Finder -- I think things like trading in cards for points or managing your chocobo's stats are things you'll need to go to Gold Saucer itself and do.

Edit: I don't think this disqualifies them from being considered Gold Saucer games.

You should not have shown me this...

GET GAF'D IS BACK BABY!

Was it ever a question that was the official stance? Anyone who ever said that GMs would ban you for pulling early is a moron. Same for those who say resetting them will cause any action.

Didn't Punchi get gaoled a week or two ago for resetting Mindflayer? Or was that just hilarious timing?

I remember Korra getting a warning by a GM for resetting, no idea if anyone has ever gotten a ban for it though.

I'll reset hunts if it's a face pull, or if somebody pulled significantly early and it's clear the vast majority of active hunters haven't arrived.

But it's not something I do often. I feel i need good cause, and you can't hold hunts for everyone during prime hours.

Well that didn't take long. A year removed from the game but after two successful raids, one of them being one I've never done before, I feel like I've got my healer's legs under me.

Well, I wasn't just resetting, I was kiting the hunt mob around and preventing anyone from hitting it and making sure it would come right back to me on reset. That was the first time. The other time was for the Safat incident because of the nature of the pull (ie pulling it into an unfair location solely for the sake of "trolling" as it was put). But if it's in the open and you pull early, GAME ON.

imo the hardest part of t13 as a dps is the 3rd phase with adds and divebombs, my group was stuck there for quite a while back on december, maybe around 2 weeks?

I dunno. I don't see it as being that hard. Once you get the kill order down I don't think it's so bad.

I don't think it's as much kill order (because the Gust and Pain mechanic kind of force an order) but maximizing DPS across multiple targets.
