I hate hunts so much. Marks get zerged within 30 seconds of their discovery during prime time (evening). It's infuriating and it's frustrating that this is the 'layman's' way of getting logs* and alexandrite. Why the hell did SE decide to bring this shit back to life.

I'd have preferred they just kept twine to coil instead of this crap. Increase alex drop from FATEs to 15 or 20% instead of 12. Anything but this shit.

The honest answer is if you have any idea what you are doing then hunts aren't that bad at all.

Depends on server though I assume. While Ultros community can be gross, it has the benefit of low population (the only benefit). I assume a server with a community like Ultros and a higher population would be horrible.

I use two trackers and generally know when something will spawn, that doesn't mean I don't still get frustrated when by the time I get to the mark after <1 minute of its finding it's within nanoseconds of its death by the zerg mob. The point being early pullers make my head spin.

This is how GAF got its reputation on Ultros right?

Aside: Black Mage rotation is oddly therapeutic, if only because of the mental input: fiery output ratio.
On topic: So are most everyone gonna be scoping out the Gold Saucer as soon as it's available? And apart from what's included what else do you people think they should have? Tetra master? Sphere break? G Bike?

I feel like I'll go to the GS (after the initial rush crashes it) see the price for the mounts and minions, buy a Cactpot ticket, try Chocobo Racing, say "that's pretty neat for an MMO", avoid Triple Triad, and continue crafting and doing Zodiac stuff.

We got the rep on Ultros because people feel entitled to a hunt because they're in route. A ton of people start showing up, mob starts to disappear off and on, and people started pulling early to avoid that. People blamed GAF since we were out in full force. I don't think most people really care anymore, but who knows. We did get that one superfan in William Almasay, so there's that.

No reason not to. You can knock them out quickly if you care to do it. There are easier ways to get weapons, however.

Oh I know this. I'm just curious if the relic weapon will continue on into the expansion. Seems like the later part looks to be grinding for that alexandrite or whatever.

The answer to this is iffy at the moment, they keep giving non answers. I do not think anyone knows 100% yet.

They have said it will be used, just now how. My guess is it will allow us to skip a couple steps others have to do.

Essentially it came from Hunts Day 3 when everyone joined in. Before then, it was callout a time (in Eorzea Time) and then if you arrived before that time, you were good. I remember waiting for like 20-30 people to arrive for a B rank. You would then tag it and turn around to ensure everyone tagged it. On day 3, certain GAF members were ignoring call times and were pulling early and zerging, watched it constantly. Hunt drama ensued, GAF got it's rep. Then when everyone started pulling early and ignoring call times, GAF just got blamed by default. It stuck. I don't think most pull early, but just took a day to earn the rep.

I need something clarified, because I find it much harder to play this on PC, than on PS3/4.

Is it possible to change the camera controls, so that I can look around with the mouse like any other third/first person game?
Because I can't get used to having to click and hold with the left mouse button to drag the camera around.

I don't think so, you can just plug in a controller in your pc and think it's like a ps4

Nothing in this game is actually played for fun by anybody as far as I have seen, it gets turned into a hardcore grind even before it's released.

This is the same problem that Hunts have, incidentally.

Feverish last minute shiva ex runs resulted in still no book but Chocolate instead getting a pony minutes before maintenance. Sounds about right.

Yeah, I just play FFXIV for fun. I mean, I already know I wont be able to pay for it forever, and I consider the fact I can play right now on the luckier side, so yeah. I just want to see as much as I can within that timeframe :D

How do the penta-melded wootz gear fare against dreadwyrm and ironworks? I recall a lot of FCoB raiders using melded i90 accessories instead of i110 accs because of better stat bonuses from the materia. Does the same apply for body pieces?

That's fine and all, but they really shouldn't act like they "have" to. if they wanna hardcore it up, go nuts, but they also shouldn't blame SE if they feel like they have nothing better to do.

Unless they are the folks who think that the option shouldn't even be allowed or something. I don't necessarily agree with that sentiment, but at least it's logically consistent there.

Mahatmas aren't items. Or at least not inventory items.
I don't think there's a FATE component involved, just some kind of attunement.
Maybe it's attuning different kinds of mahatmas in different types of content.
Or maybe it's really just light grind again.

I've got a friend who has jumped into that there trial period and is liking the game and will probably jump on board after the trial and he's gonna make a character on Ultros when he can so I'm gonna jump back in. Also I think I'll be doing a bunch of Gold Saucer stuff and ease my way back into dungeons and what not with my buddy before I take on the rest of the story (I think I need to do the snow dungeon now from a billion patches ago). Looking forward to it.

Relic gonna be i135. BiS for the next 3-4 months I guess, depending on when Heavensward drops. Well 3-4 months minus the grind time you have to invest to reach Final Zodiac.
