Is anyone watching the stream? I connected a bit late but caught Yoshida saying something like you could do Zeta with a week of roulettes. Can anyone confirm? (He also said to quit picking on Rhitatyn :V)

Also damn i'm behind if I didnt know the GS hit today. Well after maintenance anyway. Chocobo racing seems like it'll be cool, and I really like the UI. Triple Triad should've used Yoshida concept art for enemies or something.

It seems like it. I didn't catch all of it so I was being circumspect, but I basically heard him saying you could casually do it over a week with roulettes while you're doing other stuff like Triple Triad, so it'd be quite plausible.
They said calling the weapons "Mahatma" didn't feel right so they called it "Zeta" instead (and joked about Gundam of course). He said that people shouldn't be worried about this step being too large and that it's actually easily achievable ("There's probably gonna be people with one tomorrow"). 3.0 is coming soon so they want you to be able to get this out of the way. If you do dailies, like for capping poetics, you'll be able to do this in a week or so of roulettes or as you gather your Triple Triad cards.

how serious is the relic book for SMN? I just finished my Longinus like 3 or 4 hours before the shut down and I'm just exhausted from it. I'm debating on doing a SMN relic but jesus man.....
I think I went 1/32 (stopped counting :x ) on Sunken Temple of Qarn HM, 1/28 Stone Vigil HM, 1/14 Aurum Vale. I don't know if I can do that shit again....
I got a Book of Spades which I uncursed today so I have an i110 weapon for it now, thanks to the brillant minds at SE forcing me to run some of the most shitastic dungeons ever multiple times. I used to like Qarn HM too
Our Poetics book is Accuracy / Spell Speed and our Dreadwyrm book is Crit / Spell Speed. While not exactly a zero damage stat, it's nearly one-third the value of Determ (and close to 40% for Crit) for us. That basically means about 20-ish stat points lost on it. Basically, of the DPS classes, Summoner relic is the largest upgrade over their T13 option.
That said, it's also unnecessary to have it so it's up to you on if you care to put all that time and effort into the relic. It's not like the others are so bad that you're better off not using them at all. Just that Spell Speed on them is essentially a lost stat slot.

I played the first version Final Fantasy XIV but hasn't really touched it for a long while. I am thinking of going back, but beforehand I would like to know if there are story quests I missed or would potentially miss since the start of A Realm Reborn. I am aware that everything before the Battle of Carteneau is lost forever and there are seasonal and promotional events with limited availability, but is there any other time-sensitive quest like those?
In short, do I need to rush certain quests right now before Heavensward drops?

Rest assured, all of the A Realm Reborn content, including its scenarios and post-release patch scenarios, will still be available to complete when Heavensward launches and beyond.

Uh, I'll wait until I see it but then it's like what, 500 light? I assume by roulettes he means all of them, which is like brilliant for LL and ex, blinding for scenario(I think), gentle for trials and bright for HL if I remember correctly, with bonus obviously bumping stuff. That's about 60 a day, 420ish in a week, so around 500 with random bonus. That sounds WAY easy, as in you can do it in 4hours of primal bonus with a premade group. If it's that much then it was all worth it.

Not if they go by Dissidia standards(which considering a new Dissidia is coming out...this is probably what they're doing). All those characters are in Dissidia and even in that the main character in 3 was just called "Onion Knight". I would fully expect to see the main villians as cards also within the next patch or 2, just to go along with the release.
Hope you can get them at same time as getting light, but I don't think so.

That would be great! I would probably start over with one of the new classes. But we need to be on the same World, yar? I'm not really sure how this works now... Regardless, I'm on Balmung and is thinking of moving; I've lost contact with all of my acquaintances there.
It looks like you infuse each individual one with light so as long as you can afford the first one, you can start light grind right away. None of the data mining has said anything about needing to turn in each individual mahatma when done so I'm guessing you can buy a new one when the first isn't done. I'm thinking you just slot one to your relic at a time, fill it up, switch to new one, etc. Then bring all 12 in to complete quest.
