Noticed the free week and decided to log in for the first time in what I thought was four months, but was in fact seven.
I had experimented with FFXI, in which the world is pretty empty, so things sure seemed lively in Mor Dhona when I first popped into view... and then I got to the Gold Saucer. Wow! So much to do, so many people milling about! Good old Triple Triad! Dat Shuffle or Boogie music! Card games in which Eorzean alphabet numerals are on full display! Casino bunny girls! There's something foe everyone.
Just when I think I'm out... they pull me back in!
So I decided to visit Limsa and check out one of the new classes, the Rogue. This "learning things from scratch but not really" thing is quite fun and a great way to get back into things. I saw you out in the fields,
Maple Cookie (and tried to give you a tiny bit of assistance with your fight), and saw you,
Kagari, playing cards with Baderon (my Nozomi gave you a nice courteous bow and you were too engrossed in the cards to even notice her
).
(Was there some kind of gil tax or something? I could have sworn that I had hundreds of thousands of gil, but I only have about 43,000. Am I misremembering?)
Any thoughts on how to go about enjoying all the new content? There's just so much to do, but I want to try it all. I never did get past Turn 5, so a lot of the dungeons are off limits. How are the additional Hard Mode dungeons?
Also, I bought a code to play this game on PC; will that expire after the new content is added in the spring?
