Got my first taste of tanking in Sastasha and Deepcroft. Really enjoying it quite a bit. Always a bit unnerving my first time in a dungeon since a) I don't know where I'm going and b) I don't know boss mechanics...But folks have been really helpful.

I'll probably sub again after the free login time ends.

84 leves, five FATES, and one LLDR managed to push my level 45 DRG to 50 today. I have learned a valuable lesson about saying I'll level a class to justify rolling on loot for troll purposes. And that is that if my character looks awesome enough in the gear, it is totally worth it.

So now I get to spend my down time when the Mist is abandoned practicing rotation on the striking dummy. And then running away when actual dragoons show up.

They really need to have more ways to get TT card. I have 55, I shouldn't do Pharos or DD AGAIN for a chance to get a card. It's crazy.

Have cards drop from the first and second boss of a dungeon, chests, make them buyable with items and gil (Behemot Card for Behemot's horns, etc).

So I just got my nexus weapon after light farming for like 12hrs straight :) So what's the best way to approach the zodiac quest so I don't wanna kill myself before I finish it

Noticed the free week and decided to log in for the first time in what I thought was four months, but was in fact seven.

I had experimented with FFXI, in which the world is pretty empty, so things sure seemed lively in Mor Dhona when I first popped into view... and then I got to the Gold Saucer. Wow! So much to do, so many people milling about! Good old Triple Triad! Dat Shuffle or Boogie music! Card games in which Eorzean alphabet numerals are on full display! Casino bunny girls! There's something foe everyone.

Just when I think I'm out... they pull me back in!

So I decided to visit Limsa and check out one of the new classes, the Rogue. This "learning things from scratch but not really" thing is quite fun and a great way to get back into things. I saw you out in the fields, Maple Cookie (and tried to give you a tiny bit of assistance with your fight), and saw you, Kagari, playing cards with Baderon (my Nozomi gave you a nice courteous bow and you were too engrossed in the cards to even notice her :( ).

(Was there some kind of gil tax or something? I could have sworn that I had hundreds of thousands of gil, but I only have about 43,000. Am I misremembering?)

Any thoughts on how to go about enjoying all the new content? There's just so much to do, but I want to try it all. I never did get past Turn 5, so a lot of the dungeons are off limits. How are the additional Hard Mode dungeons?

Also, I bought a code to play this game on PC; will that expire after the new content is added in the spring?

Nothing is gated by Turn 5 aside from Second and Final coil. Just accept the 5p trillion quests that popped up in Mor Dohna and they'll lead you to opening up all of the new dungeons, including continuing the main story inside the Rising Sands.

In that case, I'll go after those. Some of the "Hard" stuff was locked off and I assumed that I had to clear the Coil to reach it. I would like to experience the Second Coil, but unless they've nerfed Turn 5 somehow, I suppose I never will.

The main story is probably the biggest appeal, along with the Hildibrand stuff. I just realized that I never finished the 2.1 Hildibrand story!

(Edit: Teknoman, I think so. Kagari's avatar clearly had five cards in his hands and was staring intently at Baderon. Unless there's something else that would have your avatar looking at cards...?)

Oh man I'm sorry I couldn't see you ;-;. When you play Triple Triad it's so engrossing and the menu is quite big so I usually don't see when people are right by me. I wasn't ignoring you on purpose, promise!

Glad to see you're having fun at least :)

Alright, whats the fastest way for me to farm Alexandrites apart from Fates?

my RNG is brutal, 1 every 4-5 hours is not worth it.

Any advice?

Oh man, this zodiac step in the relic quest sure is something. I'm starting to think maybe you guys weren't kidding around when you said not to start this quest in the first place...

Behind Novus, Zodiac is probably the step that requires the most work right now. It's okay though, take it at your own pace and you'll get it down before you know it.

Two TT NPC wins away from getting the Squall card. Should have no trouble with Swift this time. Just have to figure out which "Random rule" NPC I must suffer through to get the other win >.<

sehr gute! I'm so tired of 13 lol :D

We got screwed today/yesterday, had good runs where I was just lagging the fuck out or Jonno had to leave. 2 hours isnt long enough IMO but I'm new so I'll just go with it.

At least we're seeing Terraflare regularly now. Progress is progress, and we already know some of the last phase mechanics. It'll be soon, I'm sure.

It seems daunting at first, but it's actually not that bad. I think the worst is over once you're past nexus (and even that isn't as bad as it used to be)

Last time I was in WoD and I suggested doing all DPS in belly on Cerb, I got yelled at because it was too slow and thus too risky. I don't know where that came from, every time I've done all DPS in belly since first hearing about it, belly is usually done within a matter of seconds after I get into the belly compared to the several minutes where it's just the B team..

Really if anyone says it's slower then the groups they are in must have some majorly crap DPS. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw someone say it's slower and riskier. Either their DPS sucks or I've just been in some competent groups. Either way, doesn't make those groups that say it's slower look good.

Got my first win in T12 yesterday, 3 weeks of training. X_x
But it's easy now, I think we might be able to 1 shot it tomorrow.

Now to suffer all this day in WoD to get something before the reset ...

Hunts are by far the fastest way now, you can get 10 a day if you ride a couple of A trains.

Fasted guaranteed way :p but if RNG is on your side, fates are probably faster*

*requires luck and/or faith in RNGesus

That guy had some bad luck. I got about 4 - 5 in about 6 - 8 fates yesterday.

Will do that then next to the daily ex roulette.

Yea.. well i've been riding the Nthanalan fate train for about 5 hours and got zero out of it.

That does sound painful. Personally, I'd farm a few fates in one zone and then move to another one after a while and see if that helps (might, might not but at least it will be different fates rather than the same ones over and over).

I hear Middle La Noscea is a good place for fate farming.

Best way probably is to mix up Fate farming with Hunts + roulette (not just ex for the quest, but all the roulettes for more sol to buy more maps).
