Thanks for the link. That's about $122 (Murican) at current exchange rates. Downloadable version is about $47. Regular downloadable version is around $31 according to that link also.

So then im making the right choice by going Paladin + Dark Knight. All this FFIV stuff...we've GOT to go to the moon.

I just napped in my Inn during the 7th Umbral Era. Might've missed out on some of the finer details.
My bad if this is old news already but have they said anything new about how the new classes will be unlocked? Other than the original statement of it will be something pretty much everyone that already ownes the game will have unlocked.
Edit: I like how they mentioned the samurai class and why they didn't do it this time. It is definetly on their ajenda now if it wasn't before. Dark Knight just fits well with this new expansion and can't wait, just want to be sure I don't need to be at 50 already or something. I'm getting there!
Edit 2: Answering my own question with a quote from Yoshi P at Massively OP (While Yoshida would not reveal the main stats of the new jobs, he did say that you will not be able to start playing one at level 1. As with other jobs, you have to reach level 30 first and do job quests to unlock them. As these extra jobs do not have base classes, the team is still making decisions about what level players will start at with them, although we likely will not be starting fresh from level 1. No, the existing base classes are not going anywhere, but at this point the team is focused on pushing jobs rather than classes for further development.)
Now I wonder what class each job will be tied too or if it just wont matter anymore? I dont see how this is going to work at all lol.

I have been playing on-and-off since launch, have around 1000 hours plugged into it, but I can't carry on.
I don't know if it's just my server or what but people are so unwelcoming, to the point where I have played the entire time lone wolf style. I've been in a couple of random FC's that threw me an invite (I would imagine to try and get some gil from me) but they were toxic a lot of the time.
How would you guys suggest I go ahead, I really want to get into a group and clear coil, but I've only ever been able to do 1-5 in DF as I have been unable to find a static, can't do any of the EX primals either for the same reason.

Talking about people being new in dungeons/raids. A few days ago someone was outright offended I marked targets, because he "already did this dungeon once". I told him it was easier for me to handle it like that. Then he proceeded to stop attacking things altogether.
At the start of a dungeon/raid I always check if someone might be new and ask if they need any explanations. So yeah, the last time I went into CT2, I did exactly that, got no replies at all and they died... a lot, and messed up everything there was to mess up.
If I'm new to something myself I always mention it at the beginning. It usually goes like this:
"Hi, it's my first time in here, but I read up on what to do. So I should be fine."/"Hi, it's my first, please tell me if/when there's stuff I need to look out for."/"Hi, I haven't cleared this yet, but I know what to do."
Talking to people works wonders, most of the time.

To be honest until I've seen that reply I've never thought about it as something like a collector's item - only had an image of a FFXI expansion in my head.

Connection is the same regardless since they still don't have euro servers, all the servers are located in canada. There's some people playing during the day, but not many. During euro primetime though and especially if you stay a bit late, there's a decent amount of people.
I am and quite a few others are. Connection is good. I have no issues dodging most things (ie Titan's landslides/plumes). And some people who have done up to T13 are from the UK so yeah, connection is great.

Funnily there is quite a difference in latency/ping.
I'm on Shiva (I live in Germany) and tried playing on Ultros, and it was way more laggy. Granted, that was at least a year ago; so it might not be the case anymore.

Definitely switch to Ultros and come to the GAF guild.
I haven't started Coil and such yet (and haven't really been talking lately) but chat is almost always a fun time.

which server is the german server?
it's pretty hard to make friends in this game through gameplay, the old mmorpg way. thanks to duty finder and lots of shallow solo content. you only need contacts for a very low % of content. keep in mind europe will have their servers in their region soon.That's ok, Drama is working on unlocking the quest for all of Ultros.

They can't do it per platform. What happens if I go to Ishgard on my Dark Knight, log off and switch to PS4? The game would kick me to wherever and switch my class?

That's what I was asking in the other thread and someone suggested that you would be reverted to one of your pre-exp classes, but I think that it would get too messy.
Someone else said that in case of FFXI, you couldn't access the new zones, because despite the classes being pushed as an update for everyone, game discs were required to install the data for the new zones. I think the situation has changed enough (I've never seen actual FFXIV discs) for this to not be applicable to XIV.

I've not seen too many people talk about latency/ping issues these days on Ultros but then again, I don't know how many EU players use something to compensate for it if they have issues.
I don't have too many issues on PS4 myself unless it's busy (S rank hunts as an example.)

Couldn't they just tell you that you need the service to be active on the plattform you want to switch to?
Like, they could just not let you log in at all on PS4 if you only got the expansion on PC.

I'm from Ireland and play on Ultros. I use a VPN because of my ISPs latency/packet loss issues, rather than latency to the server. Connection is perfectly fine when it's stable. Currently doing T13 too so you won't be blocked out of any content because of latency issues.
Also, as other mentioned, all the servers are in Canada anyway so it really doesn't make a difference, making the first half of my post redundant

You will probably just register the key to your account like with redeemable items and that will give you access to the expansion content no matter where you are logging in from.

Yeah, Shiva (and Odin) is/are more or less the inofficial German server(s).
I'm relieved now that I know the expansion date. I can finish my relic without having to give up on my social life.
Got my CRP to 50 yesterday. It's great to finally have a DoH class at max level, and those relic tools are awesome. And Byregot's Blessing <3
Have a few of other classes on 40 and others on mid 30. Still have work to do until I start those star recipes, but I'm happy already. Just have to get some money back now.
Edit: This is a useless blog post and shouldn't be the first one on a new page ;_;
