Is there a way to try the game out on PC if I have the PS4 version? I ran the benchmark. Got 5000plus on high laptop settings and around 8000 on standard laptop settings, but I would try out in a real gameplay scenario.

Well there is the PC free trial- you might have to make another account to use them, but it's fine for just testing gameplay and all.

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...der-access-from-first-time-runners-of-content.

Let's face it. When I do my low-level dungeon for the 500th time, I'm not there to lecture a newbie or help some Lancer figure out how to use heavy thrust. I want to get my tomestones and get out. The same goes for every other type of content in the game - if you have the privilege of playing with experienced players, you should make the effort to know the content in and out. Us players with 2+ years of experience don't have time to play babysitter - we have our Zetas to finish and our ponies to farm.

Okay which one of you is this, fess up.

That's what I was asking in the other thread and someone suggested that you would be reverted to one of your pre-exp classes, but I think that it would get too messy.
It would, because you might not have the armory space to change your gear.

"Error 2015. Please log into the machine that contains the Heavansward expansion license to continue."

You will probably just register the key to your account like with redeemable items and that will give you access to the expansion content no matter where you are logging in from.
That would be awful...

Talking about people being new in dungeons/raids. A few days ago someone was outright offended I marked targets, because he "already did this dungeon once". I told him it was easier for me to handle it like that. Then he proceeded to stop attacking things altogether.

I always mark, no matter what dungeon it is, just so I can enjoy people ignorning it ;)

At the start of a dungeon/raid I always check if someone might be new and ask if they need any explanations. So yeah, the last time I went into CT2, I did exactly that, got no replies at all and they died... a lot, and messed up everything there was to mess up.

If I'm new to something myself I always mention it at the beginning. It usually goes like this:

"Hi, it's my first time in here, but I read up on what to do. So I should be fine."/"Hi, it's my first, please tell me if/when there's stuff I need to look out for."/"Hi, I haven't cleared this yet, but I know what to do."

Talking to people works wonders, most of the time.

I normally don't mark enemies anymore, since is a hassle on controller, or rather is slow.

And after I came back I had to do for the first time quite amount of content and everytime I told them at the start and I didn't have any bad responses. If it's our first time you should always say it, after all with a few tips every dungeon boss is manageable.

And regarding primals and others DF is TO LEARN, don't let anyone to tell you otherwise, but one piece of advise: dungeons is fine, but for primals is much better watching a video first, just watching it once is enough to give a general feel of the battle.

There's a very simple reason for that, text is not enough, specially some mechanics, is something much easier to understand and convey on image form. So if anyone needs to do a primal fight for the first time, watch a video, helps a lot more than people telling you tips with less than 100 words...

Really? I will always follow the mark if it's up but that means I won't be AOEing and we would go so slowly. This doesn't seem like a good idea...

You sometimes want to focus on a single enemy, like those enemies that summons other monsters on Vigil HM.

Well, most of the time when I encounter Tanks who mark targets individually, I just assume they wouldn't be able to handle AOE'ing all the things anyway, so I really just attack that one marked enemy.

I mean, that's why I myself mark targets in lowlevel dungeons as a PLD.

Yeah I know it's useful. That's why I always follow it. But Uthred is talking about doing it needlessly as a matter of course. That's what I was questioning.

Since these days is all about gangin up as many trash mobs as you can, yeah is not needed, but in low level dungeons and a more limited amount of resources, PLD specially, might have an easier time if all DPS focus on a single enemy.

Two melees focusing on different enemies can be a nuissance to manage on low levels.

Who is still active on Sargatanas that can invite me to the Linkshell? I play in the evenings mostly.

:O what's your ingame name? I'll be home by the evening pacific time. My ingame name is Eithne Rain, or look for any member with the DOT tag, that's our Free Company. Click on them and apply.

You mark in non-speed run or low level dungeons because a lot of DPS are stupid / lazy and will attack different targets or non-priority targets.

I don't do those dungeons anymore, but when I did, I just attached Mark 1 to my shield lob action in a macro so whenever I was pulling, I didn't need to waste time marking.

Three months to go until Heavensward. I've beat T13, got full i130 + Zeta on BLM, and I never have anything to buy with Soldiery. What am I going to do that'll keep me busy for three months?

Guess I'll try a new class and an old grind.

I guess you'll never know will you?

So am I to understand from these last few pages of mini-drama that T9 help night is now a thing?

Yeah Felix has been running T9 carries, keep in mind thought that mumble will probably complain about you and/or talk about Angary the whole time.

I've been getting equips for my PLD for the past couples weeks and I'm starting to remember why I dislike tanking.

The pressure.

I was doing The Gift of the Archmagus quest line and in all three raids I somehow ended up being the MT of the alliance because all the other tanks just seemed to be in absolute refusal to step up. I hate the feeling that all those people are depending on me not to mess up. Or when I'm tanking in a regular dungeon and just trying to keep threat which I eternally find to be a hard thing to do with groups of monsters on anything outside of the low level dungeons I do for my dailies.

And this coming from some who just uses the healer classes.

This is interesting, didn't Dunan specifically ask for this the other day? ... So it looks like they might implement being able to practice specific phases of battles. That would be a godsend on those fights where I end up sleeping through the first few phases but at the same time almost makes it seem too easy.

That is indeed exactly what I asked for. Wow.

No rewards or minimal rewards would be fine, though it would be even better if they allowed you to give commendations when practicing in a group.

I jprerry much assume one or both of those things are happening constantly in mumble anyway so people might as well get T9 clears out of it.

(Is it conceited to think they're constantly talking about me behind my back if, the one time I watch a stream with mumble, they are in fact talking about me? Idk. )

man what are you guys doing in Mumble after I go to bed to give us Mumble folk a bad name?

cmon...

This faux-conciliatory attitude from one of the biggest anti-Lala racists in the FC. Pls.

everything is my fault

Man you weren't even in those T9s. The ego! Literally every other thing is your fault, but not that.

Unless you're Akh Morn.

I feel the same way. For me it'd be impossible to be able to keep aggro on all the enemies just because of how slow I am at switching between enemies on PS4. And the tank has the most pressure to not fuck up compared to pretty much every other class. That's why I just stayed with a DPS class.

So I finally took up weaving--I was wondering, is there a solid guide out there any of you could recommend for it? This is my first crafting class.

The best thing to do is to get every craft to at least 15. Then I believe cooking to 36, then weaving and carpentry to 50.

As far as a guide there should be some, the general trick is to abuse leves and use the ones that have multiple turn ins and keep giving HQ turn ins.

You're the center of every one of our DBZ references during raids.

: Not sure if you're being serious or not. I take offense to this quite a bit, since most of the "complaining" is mostly jovial and not to be taken a hundred percent seriously. Besides, someone has to be willing to run people through harder content they would like to try and clear since some people would rather run Garuda EX for hours instead.

It's not just you. Look at the ego on this one. We talk about everyone who isn't a member of the Mumble Elite™ because they're all Second Third rate plebs and bads, obviously. Our time is obviously not spent talking about chocobos, cards, and way too much dragon ball z.

It's not your fault, scy. It's not your fault.
