So I've been playing this over the last week or so and I am around level 26, I have just been following the main quest line up to this point but it seems now the xp isn't enough to keep up with the required levels to do them. So what's the best way to level up at this point? I've only done the dungeons when the game has made me do them, do they level up quickly or should I just run around doing fates for a few hours?

great, thanks guys.

So basically the paladin just stays there sitting pretty while with the warrior you got some more options, is that correct?

Race-wise is there any meaningful difference?
Races have extremely minor stat differences. Otherwise no.

If anything its amusing to have a Lalafell tank due to their small size which is even more amusing if said person decided to have a particularly short Lalafell.

One more thing:
when I buy the game to upgrade the account do I get a free month or should I also purchase a timecard?

Yeah XD I can already picture the rest of party wondering where the tank is while being covered by mobs three times its size

Fates are okay up to a point, but you'll be doing a lot of them per level. Generally quests will be your main source (unless you're leaving them for a second class) until the high forties. Don't forget that levequests (repeatable missions) and guidlhests are also available - guildhests (group instances that kind of provide training for party content) have a per-class first time bonus you should take advantage of. Also, try and do a dungeon run every day - the low level roulette option can be done once per day and will put you in any previously unlocked dungeon and usually provide about half a level of xp for your trouble.

Lalafell is best race, but I warn you... sometimes scary people just wanna carve up a potato.

There should be ample side quests in the areas that you're doing main story quests. I was always like 5+ levels ahead of what I should have been for the story missions. I never once had to grind fates or dungeons while going thru the main story. Make sure you're doing your hunting log every set of 10 levels and do all of the guildhests as they unlock since you get a fat completion bonus the first time you do each of them with a new class. But I'd still say side quests. Every time the main story sends you to a new location there should be half dozen exclamation marks on the map.

Wow. Eternal Bond so tedious to engage.

So that actually made a noticeable difference? Good to know. Even still, what I'm saying is it would be nice if the stat boosts scaled so that they made a bigger difference at higher ilevels, which in your case would've given you an even bigger boost to vitality. Building on that, imagine if they had fights where non-tanks had to put extra points on vitality even with max armor to survive, that kind of stuff would make the attribute system a lot more relevant. I guess they could also do this with the current system, but I like to see bigger changes come from re-rolling!

30 VIT equals 435 HP and probably knocked off a few dozens off my Cure.

Any GAF guild on Phoenix (EU) btw?

My bf has a level 50 white mage there and we are not sure about changing server

from what i understand, the GAF population is mainly on Ultros with some folks on Sargatanas and one or two other servers. Haven't heard of a GAF contingent on Phoenix.

Oh good, so I don't have to do maps after all!
I thought RELIC was supposed to the Weapon for the Rest of Us™. It was supposed to be Non-Raider's Weapon of the 99%™. What the fuck happened to the 'casual' content in this game? It's the most hardcore grind in this game.
The Zodiac grind is only hardcore when you try to do it quickly. Doing it casually, you can just about finish each step up when the next one is released.

Do we know how much space should be reserved for the game with the upcoming expansion ? I have about 37gb left on my SSD I wonder if it'll be enough space.

I feel like I may as well post to tell my side but I don't blame anyone or anything, clearly I walked into something I didn't understand. I'm sorry I ended up being a burden but it was a horrible experience overall. Still though I'm thankful for everyone's time and work but it wasn't nice to be treated like that at all.

Honestly, none of it is really on you and all of it is on us as a collective. If someone is gonna take the blame, then you can blame me for it. I felt, and still feel, really shitty about it and I know it was the wrong way to handle the situation. I do apologize for it and hopefully we can do some more content in the future so I can make it up to you. There are really no excuses to be made for treating someone like that.

That should be plenty, we don't have specifics but the game will reuse a large amount of assets so it shouldn't be much bigger than the current game, and probably smaller once it's all patched together(I mean smaller than the current game added to it, so obviously bigger total). You have plenty of time to figure it out once they announce it anyway.

To be honest I just joined because I thought it would be fun but in the end it was awful, the idea that people were clearly talking about me behind my back and then decided not to even res me without even saying anything to me at all was one of the worst experiences in the game I've ever had. I knew the fight well and had practised before but not cleared. Clearly though I wasn't keeping up well enough for everyone else (I don't know what's up with the c/ding thing but no one told me this until it was over). This reminds me of my first Syrcus Tower experience with GAF. I had just gotten to the point where I unlocked it and had a run under my belt. Same thing as you some people in the FC chat were recruiting for a party and I thought, sure why not? Sounds like fun.

I was fairly new to the raid so some things weren't 100% clear to me but I died a bunch to Xande's Ancient Quaga. I was making the typical DPS mistake of panicking and trying to DPS at the expense of boss mechanics which left me dead on the floor.

People in party chat were doing the whole point and laugh thing at me which really pissed me off. I remember at the time during the fight while it was going on thinking why don't they say what's going wrong instead of just mocking me.

It was definitely my fault for doing content green with people from the FC. I definitely try to make sure that I know the content 100% before trying it with people from the FC now :)

I don't think I was anywhere near this run, but did you tell them you were new and didn't know the mechanics? People are generally okay about explaining mechanics if they realize you're new, and not just being MAX DEEPS TUNNELVISION/a dragoon about things. There's just an assumption at this point that everyone knows LotA/ST, especially if there's no bonus sold message, so.

I mean, the pointing and laughing at deaths is kind of a thing (Have You Heard About My Death Radius™?), and assholes in GAF are certainly a thing (hi!), but generally the point and laugh to your face is supposed to be a laugh with not laugh at, and shouldn't be happening if you're brand new and everyone knows it.

Yeah Felix has been running T9 carries, keep in mind thought that mumble will probably complain about you and/or talk about Angary the whole time.

Hmmm... might see if I can tag along on one of those. Would be nice if it could be help night learning group rather than a straight up carry but whatevs I guess. I've always just assumed people are complaining about me in Mumble so no worries. :)

PF is frustrating for T9 as, no matter what the party description says, there's always people who join and don't know meteors/golems. So we never get very far. I should probably make my own party and just be a total nazi about it. Why do people join PFs if they don't meet the requirements? I see this often and I don't get this since it's not like people won't notice.

What exactly was said? If it was just "lol you need to go in the circle", just take that as joking. If it was egregious though and you were being dogpiled on, let an officer know.

Don't take that experience as being similar to all GAF member runs. Plus no one really gives a shit anymore about Syrcus Tower, the only time I might actually get mad is if another team is fucking up the robot placements in Krillin's fight repeatedly.

Nobody tells me nothing about what's going on sometimes. What the hell are you guys even doing.

From now on the only person anybody is allowed to poke fun at is Mr. Happy.
