Jeez the OF sometimes....

http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/203671-Bard-needs-some-love-too.

So by now i think that everyone knows that Bard has the lowest dps from all the dd jobs.

I said to remove the damage penalty from songs and even then it would be far behind other jobs.

Seems there's a case of the badbrds when there are people who are actually calling for a buff for them and believing that they are "by far the lowest dps even if they took the dmg reduction off songs", Like how they also believe that bard is only good on fights with a lot of moving around....because we've gotten oh so many tank n spank fights out of the last 8(we've gotten 1-2 depending on strat and even then the bard is hardly doing poorly) where the bard is in a bad position compared to everyone else right?

I do hope that they start combining and maaaaaybe expanding the existing zones at some point, but if it happens, it is going to take awhile.

I wouldnt expect them to start doing this until at least 4.0. By which time they'll likely be heavily considering dropping PS3 support. Even then, I doubt existing zones would be overhauled all that dramatically. They'll use most their resources on new zones.

Wait is the whole point of bard not to have an excuse for low DPS and to wear fantastic hats? Because then I've been doing it wrong the whole time.

The only buff I'd want is like one good defensive CD or for Second Wind to not be kind of a joke. And that's mostly due to my fondness for unnecessary damage.

Bards REALLY don't need a buff. They're already highly in demand for their utility, and they can do excellent damage on top of that, in the hands of a skilled player.

Methinks this is mostly a case of players on the Other, clamoring for a buff after seeing the response to the recent Dragoon threads.

It's understandable I suppose, if misguided.

Really, aside from making Dragoon more viable in high end game play, there aren't many classes or skills that really need buffs right now.

Maaaaaybe a slight buff to Foresight, either in the former of a shorter cool down, or slightly more noticeable mitigation. Even then however, that'd partially be to help Dragoon, as it's one of the only mitigation CDs they have access to. That'd help War and Pld of course, but we'd have better options even with a slight buff.

Summoner itemization (and/or mechanics) come to mind in regards to Spell Speed. And the MP concern vs BLM which forces out Ballad instead of Foes (which is a net loss anyway and you should just sacrifice self-DPS for MP conservation and get Foes instead).

But I'm a bit biased in that.

No SMN itemization is junk atm.
Like straight doodoo right now. We all know SE hates them though so...

DRG is just a victim of circumstances.
All of which being their own fault :U

Yeah SMN's choices are kinda limited, even the crafted gear likes to throw spell speed at you and stuff it down your throat, my BLM has no complaints obviously.

Asami, our BLM, doesn't believe in Quelling Strikes, so hasn't levelled BRD :|

Convert though? That's crazy :)

I don't believe in Quelling Strikes either. F**k that; I pop Raging Strikes! Gotta keep dem tanks busy.

On another note, I didn't realise that accuracy was a thing for dungeon bosses now. I actually missed a shot on Kraken today. Good thing I'm getting an accuracy boost tomorrow.

Finally got into 4-star weaver crafting and got my melds done so that I hit the requirements to craft before food. RIP my old, old Militia Spinning Wheel, which sadly converted into CP3 materia.

The HQ Supra turn-ins were pretty horrid, and my initial efforts in fishing out the right procs were like grinding for atma. I tried the JP rotation, but it didn't really work for me. I ended up opening with Comfort Zone, Inner Quiet, Piece by Piece x2, Steady Hand 2, Ingenuity 2, and two Rapid Synths to fill up on progress. (Because of the way procs and buff timers lined up, I often had to move the SH2 x Ing2 x Rapid Synth combo around a little, so it wasn't really a set opener.) After that, it was mainly a question of Tricks of the Trading as much as possible, keeping Comfort Zone up, tactical Master's Mend 1/2, until I'd manufactured a situation when I could drop a Great Strides Byregot's Blessing under Ingenuity 2 with 10 or more stacks of Inner Quiet on a Good and finish with Careful Synthesis II. (I only saw a couple of Excellents and they came at lousy times, generally.) Fishing for a situation like this took me about an hour the first time, and about half an hour each for the following two. I found that things became a lot easier when I got more yolo about it and only used Reclaim at the end if I was positive things weren't going to work out. Before, I'd been front loading Reclaim out of paranoia. I think my first Reclaim failure is what made me relax that policy a bit. I failed two Reclaims throughout the entire effort.

The best HQ % I got in the end was 80%, the worst I HQ'ed on was 18%. That was pretty lucky, I was actually planning to just desynth that one because I lost a gamble on whether I'd get the CP back to Reclaim. It was luckier still when I managed to pentameld the new off-hand with only blowing up about ten or so materia.

Later on I botched my first proper 4-star craft because I hit the wrong button instead of Careful Synthesis 2, so it all evens out.
Good thing Allagan Silk is cheap as chips.

When it wasn't boring or humiliating it was kind of fun.

This is why you guys should have tried getting Angary interested in Coil!

Speaking of Coil, any groups looking for a member? I think I may need a new static...=/

Most Ninjutsu, including Raiton (sans Doton and the Fuma Shuriken) are enhanced by Foe's Requiem. Before you start stacking INT, Ninjutsu damage is based on your attack rating which is influenced by your primary stat (DEX) and buffs/debuffs.

Yeah, I looked into that because there was a bunch of confusion there. They way things were written in the patch notes some people thought they were affected by STR and DEX.

Good to know about Foe's though. That explains that 1700 crit... Hehe

Thanks for the info!

Every time I have tried to run Ramuh, the DPS do not pay attention to chaos. Every single time. They will freely light me up when -I- happen to miss a chaos break though. This fight is infuriating, and not because it's hard. People just WILL NOT pay attention.

Not tried Ramuh EX yet but this is generally what I expect.

Best to create your own PF (and specify they know the mechanics) or get your FC to help.

Research? Effort? Screw that I‘ll just get carried and nobody will care since I won‘t see any of those suckers ever again! - literally everyone in DF ever.

How exactly is Shield Oath's 'increased enmity' applied? On a per attack basis?

Maybe it's just in my head but I feel like I'm losing enmity way more now that I'm using Shield Oath instead of Sword.

Almost 40 T9 runs and still no bow. Since I'm second on queue I've lost any hope of getting it. Oh well. At least I've T9 weapons for all my other jobs.

It flat out doubles the enmity of everything you do.
