It flat out doubles the enmity of everything you do.

Hm, okay. Will just throw out another flash occassionally.

It would be easier if I could just switch targets for the end of a Rage of Halone combo or something then people's targeting messes up. Not sure if they are using a <tt> macro or what but it happens fairly often where enemy 1 will be almost dead, I'll switch to enemy 2 just to keep enmity up thinking the DPS' will kill 1 since it has no health left, but their targets change and 1 is left alive :(

They think the same thing you do. That the dots or the other dps will finish the enemy.

So what would you guys say are some of the faster ways of making gil in the game currently? I've started putting some aside for player housing, but since only medium and large lots are available on my server (and I still want to go for a large one), I've got my work cut out for me.

As it stands now, I'm focusing on crafting with every job except BSM capped and at least 2-starred. Been making a lot of food since it sells reasonably quick. Mostly 1* and 2* stuff since it's quick to make compared to 3*. Also occasionally doing crafting materials like hippogryph leather, darksteel / rose gold nuggets, etc. when MB prices are decent. Slapping up some crafter / gatherer left-side gear for newbies hitting 50 on those jobs since most of them won't make a beeline for artisan tiered gear, assuming they ever get that far.

So basically, a mix of fast and slow-moving items split between my retainers. When I'm making a concerted effort, I'm able to pull down about 500k-800k per day but am wondering if there's anything I can do to rake in the gil even faster. I've largely focused on the crafting, as I find spiritbonding for profit has become inconsistent of late. The number of Tier IV materia that drop when converting has been pretty blah since 2.4 for me. >_<

I managed to join a static for T9 learning, we're starting today. We're solo tanking it, and I'm the tank. Any tips? Some really important thing I have to keep in mind?

Don't forget to do the ixali daily missions. And Sb crafting gear still gives good gil, even if all you get is III.

So, first time in T5. I used the duty finder. It was also the first time for someone else, but he/she didn't read the strat. I start to explain, but the other members weren't very patient (and were in fact downright rude - using the auto-translate to mock us while I was trying to explain in english to the german player what to do and not do ~ we were 6 frenchies, including me, and 2 germans). One even mocked me because I used food and potions (+DEX boost)... I didn't know trying to pull my own weight was such a bad thing /sarcasm. I know that now we are overgeared for this fight, not to mention the echo buff, but I didn't want to take chances.
Nevertheless, we managed to do a few tries before giving up, but at least we reached phase 3 each time and I had the chance to train a little.
I will probably try it again with some in-game friends and my free company. At least I have some experience now. P4 and P5 don't seem so bad, but P3 requires good positioning from everyone.

My first tip? Two tank it. The fight is more than doable solo tanked but that's a lot of extra burden if the whole group is new.

That aside, the key to tanking the fight is just good cooldown management. That is generally a given in every fight but there is not a ton of room for error on this one, even if you are overgeared for it (and at this stage in this game you may very well be), Ravensbeak/Bahamut's Claw will still shred through you if you aren't prepared. You need to figure out a rotation so you have something up at every big incoming hit, and if need be work with your healers to time stuff like Virus for when you won't have a great cooldown available. Her rotations are 100% identical every time so just learn the dance and be ready, you can either watch videos or just learn her rotation with the rest of the fight. It's fairly straightforward.

You can probably make millions by farming T4 with friends but I'm too lazy for that.

Spiritbond crafting gear. The II's usually sell better than the III's and you can bond like 3 sets in an hour. If you are on Ultros, Craftsman's Command II prices were bananas recently.

Also Ixal dailies, sealant prices have been going down but you can still make around 400k every 3 days.

As a french, french players are the worst.
Eh, I should try some T5 in DF as a healer for fun the next time I'm bored. I actually really like this fight as a scholar. There's probably some crafting material to get there no ?

Every time I have tried to run Ramuh, the DPS do not pay attention to chaos. Every single time. They will freely light me up when -I- happen to miss a chaos break though. This fight is infuriating, and not because it's hard. People just WILL NOT pay attention.
A friend of mine and myself have been trying to clear this now for an entire week and it's the same thing for us. I don't think I've do e a piece of content in this game that has been this frustrating. DF or PF there is always that one person, we even made it to 2% and some dumbass took the last tank orb.

It's interesting watching people come in who you can clearly tell wants to be carried. That or people with Ramuh gear yet have no idea what they are doing.

Add the long wait time trying to actually get people to do this fight it's gotten tiresome fast. I don't know what's up with Ultros but the server seems dead. 20+ min Queue times, no one doing half the content (hour long waits for T6) and hunts are as good as dead for the majority of the day.

Ultros population died since launch. That and unless you're into raiding or uber level crafting, it was a light patch.

Oh and playing in non East Coast prime time is ill advised.

I swear 70% success might as well be 0%! Since Spiritbonding these ilv 90 sets I've run the expert dungeons and gotten random Accessories to desynth and at lv 100 GSM I have a 70% chance of success and no joke it's more like 1 in 10... to the point that when I go through the desynth animation I already know it's gonna explode!

But then I roll a 37 on the Mummy minion and win?! WTF

He was hinting at Magitek battles using the gambit system from FFXII. I think minions would be cooler though.

I was really excited to check out the beast tribe quests now that I am lvl 41, only to find out I need to go through Stone Vigil first. Oh well I guess I will tackle that tonight.

I was reading some guides and it appears to be quite complicated, specially for tanks and healers.

I'm expecting lots of wipes today. Have no idea how much exp the entire group has.

We apparently had minions allowed in Dungeons in the Alpha of this game. Some dumbasses complained :(

Less than 12 hours, already miss fishing. can't be healthy.

Somebody take my spare Moogle Attire code from the EU livestream please: quote message to hopefully reveal code in email tags if I did this right.

Damn, I'd use it but I'm not able to register it right now where I'm at :(

I was reading a Turn 9 guide:

Phase 1: Well, that seems manageable.
Phase 2: Uhm... Getting complicated. How do you coordinate this?
Phase 3: I can already feel the wipes and despair.
Phase 4: What the fuck am I reading?

I'm scared. I need to watch a video guide after I get home.

T9 is super straight forward till the last phase.
Just keep fucking up mechanics till you learn it, the patten never deviates till the last part where it's playing hot potato with debuffs and not eating divebombs.
You can do it bruh

Just take it in chunks, there's a lot of ways to do phase 2 some of which require no co-ordination whatsoever (racecar aka the best strat).

Just don't have your warrior do holmgang while shouting 'we got this' and exploding the raid at 0.1%.

Dislike Racecar strat on Principle.

Sprint?! Maaaan, nobody has time fo that!

I dislike it because it's so dumb and manages to have its own little intricacies that are easy to screw up. But I did it for over 2 months and it worked every single week so idk

I know why it works, there's never any instance where two meteors hit at the exact same time in that phase. However, if you don't have a bard, your tanks and melee are kinda sunk in the following portions of the fight.

Granted, everybody should have a Bard who is ready and willing to sing, but ideal and reality don't always meet up.
